The cost of inventing and building these ships based on current SiSi stats makes them too expensive to be usefull.
32x Mech Eng Cores x2m 32x Racial Starship Eng Cores x450k 1x Decryptor x5-60m
With a 1/6th chance of success as its currently on Tranq + 650m to build the ship once you have a bpc.
Marauders being a carebear-mission runner, granted they could be a bit pricy. But for the Black Ops which is primarily a pvp ship, and the short lifespan those usually got. Skilling up and actually flying one, would only be affordable by a few.
Invention costs and the build costs needs to be reduced.

Does it matter which decryptor i use?
Lets say... i do 6 runs, and my 6th run is the one that is successfully...
invention runs #1-5, i use 1-type of decryptor invention run #6 i use another type of decryptor
Will i still get the 6th to be successfull? or do all 6 runs need to be the same decryptor? ---- sig goes here ---- |

Currently invention is quite seriously and solidly broken, its back overloaded until the poor mule just fell over dead.
Mechanical engineering datacores are used for 60+% of the invention in the game (Ships, weapons, drones, repair modules, mining modules, and other things). This situation is set up ready made and ripe for (insert 3rd world nationality here) farming in a big way, unless CCP gets off its ass and distributes the load out across more datacore types.
But yes, I agree that these new T2 ships, while all spiffy and shiny, are only going to be fielded by the megalliances of Eve. If you can't rake down 1b/week on the backs of puppet corps and slaves you are so very out of this market it's not funny.
Invention is dead, long may it rest in ruins.

Datacores are fine, as more people switch to mech eng agents and the huge back-supply of the other types is exhausted they will eventually all cost the same, so there's not alot of point in changing it.
Decryptors are the ONLY item where demand is determined by inventors, but they are unable to change the supply, at any cost.
See the thing is, with the worst success decryptor you could conservatively say the success was 1/11. However that will give a 9-10 run BPC. It'll put the price at about 300ishm/ship. Which is probably about what they're aiming for. Obviously it will be 2-3x that cost for a while. Black ops ones will probably be cheaper.

Anyone have links to the current material costs of any of the Black Ops and/or Marauders? Especially interested in the Sin, here.
That is, what do I need once I have the BPC in my grubby little hands?

the mega alliances and mega corps of eve don't work this way most of the rent paid by the tennants is used to fuel the incredible pos networks that secure the territory . most of the entities you describe operate in a very different manner . they have " legitimate " front corporations that govern mineral sales , bpc's , faction gear , trading and t2 market to earn the isk for the fleets . at the current estimate of prices versus usefullness in fleet operations the current t-1 crop of bs's is far more cost effiecient and sustainable . the t-2 bs's will be mostly niche and specialist applications .

I cant find the link anymore. It was posted 1-2 days showing a screenshot of invented Jump Freighter and T2 battleships. And the materials needed for them was much higher then calculated.

Maurauders are NOT carebear ships. You can use them to mission like you can any ship, but they are BEASTS in pvp.
They get the equivalent of 8 guns with 50% cap, ammo, and fittings reduction. They get better than double webs for only a single mid slot. Can fit nos/neuts and mwd and great tank all at the same time as well.
They are AWESOME ships for pvp, but I would never fly a BS that costs as much as a carrier.

Marauders, epsecially the stonking great Kronos, are superb at PvP... the sensors are weak, so you have to be careful about ECM, but other than that, it would take a brave boy to take one on alone.
And as for never flying a ship that costs as much as a carrier... plenty of people already fly faction BS in PvP... and marauders will be cheaper than some of those.

Seems to me that faction bs are less than 900m, which is at least what the maurauders will cost, if not quite a bit more. And on the rare occasion that I DO see some idiot flying a faction bs in pvp, I laugh at him and sometimes ask him to confirm what I already know: he got daddy's credit card and sold a bunch of ETCs to get the pretty ship.
Even those people I bet would rather fly a carrier for the same cost if they had the skills... and if you have the skills for a marauder, you have most of the skills for a carrier.
