Hey, I a bunch of corpmate who want to use the Rohk to run missions. However, i've never dealt with this ship, and am not sure how to help him set it up. It will be used to solo lvl 4 missions, or to run them in a small group until he gets his standing up high enough to get and run the missions himself. I've personally run missions in both the raven and in the domi, but have no experience with a shieldtanking railgun setup.
I'd perfer it if people don't just say - get a raven as he currently almost has large railgun specialization and no skills with missiles.

In theory, you can fit a rail/shield ship the same as a missile/shield ship, except you need more cap to run it (slightly, be thankful you arent using lasers), and a tracking computer. (I have found a tracking computer is really needed)
Fit your guns on top,
booster, amp, tri-hardener setup, tracking computers, and cap rechargers.
2or3 magstabs, the rest PDU or flux coils.
Keep in mind, i dont actually know anything about rail/shield ships!

It shows you try to fit it like an armor tank, but that doesn't work - you don't have as many slots available.
Fit XL booster, Boost amp, two invul fields, and two tracking computers; and go with 350mm rails - much better tracking, nearly the same DPS.
In the lows, put three magstabs and the rest PDU's (I forget if you have 4 or 5 lows on the Rokh).
Buff room for large link addresses in sigs plz :( |

Edited by: Eclip on 19/10/2007 05:24:16 Well that is hidieous as well the rokh with decent guns skills ie motio prediction 4 etc will do fine with just 2 tracking enhancers int eh lows hell i run a shield tanekd tempest with 1400's adn 1 tracking enhancer and it hits just fine on missions where u can control the spawns. rokh setup as follows
highs 350's if ur skils are low 425 when they get up a bt that extra alpha is better for missions.
mids: Xl booster, sheid boost amp, and 4 hardners 9dont forget to look up the damage from the missions and fit approiatly)
lows: if using cap rigs which make missions that much easier then go with a tracking enhancer T2 a DC T2, 2 mag stabs and then pds. With cap rigs this thing is a beast.
If u got alot of isk faction fit. Go faction sba first since the boost amount bonus for something like a dread boost amp is a nice little bonus for around 80 mill whih is very much cheaper then the uber dead space boosters -------------------------------------------------- It is not what u are underneath, but what you do that defines you |

I've actually done this before and was pretty successful at it, 350s are definitely the way to go because you actually want to hit the cruisers that you'll have to deal with from time to time where 425s are a ***** to fit and are a pain to hit anything small with, the DPS difference is pretty much null, especially when you consider that 425s might require you to fit something in lows for PG where your mag stabilizers go. Tanking wise... don't expect too much, even as one of if not the best shield tank BS out there it suffers from the penalty of being a shield tank on a BS, they just don't work well, especially if you want to fit something other then cap production and shield mods.
Highs:
8x 350mm rails
Mids:
1 t2 Booster, large or XL doesn't matter too much since you won't have the cap to sustain an XL anyways 2 boost amp 3 mission specific hardeners
Lows:
3 cap relays 2 mag stabs

3 CCC

Rokh with battleship 5 has enough resists to do nearly all lvl 4 missions with just 2 hardeners.
8x 350mm X-L booster, boost amp, 2x hardeners, 2x tracking comp 4x magstab, briefcase
3x ccc or smc rig (it wont permarun anyway so might as well go for max cap amount since the booster consumed ungodly amounts)

4 x magstab ? wtf:P number 3 is so nerfed, that u wont feel anything, exchange that with some cap or something else, and exchange the 2 x tracking comp with anohter hardener or ab, depends on mission:)

This setup looks decent (on EFT) for me... but really the Raven's the better mission-runner, period.
DCU II Magstab II 3x PDU II Large shield booster II 3x mission-specific hards Invuln II Tracking computer II 8x 425mm Railgun II And don't forget 5 medium drones! ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

If you have both UBRS gun/missle skills go for 4x425mm/4xCruise you will get near the same DPS but save's so much cap.
8x 425mm II --- 100mn AB II XL booster 2x Invul Cap recharger Tracking comp II --- 2x PDU II 3x MFSII --- Anti-Em 2x CCC
Anitmater sits at 58 opt, +28fall-off for me (caldari battle ship 4)and can break 1K wreaking's even with no ship bonus. "Your 425mm Railgun II perfectly strikes Pith Exterminator, wrecking for 1083.3 damage."
This does do all lvl 4's, but on such as bonus AE swap the 100mn for an amp to increase cap:shield efficency.
Problems with the Rokh is cap, it has same base as Mael and hyperion, but mael not needing cap to fire and armor tanking just wooping shield.
With all that bad, it's still my lvl 4 ship of choise.

*BUILDERS COMMENT So far running level four missions has been acceptable in this ship. Not as much pure damage as loading up on 425mms, but easier to fit and better in close on frigs and cruisers. Don't run this build without high drone skills and the T2 drones to take on warp scrambling frigs.
I've run hundreds of lvl 4 missions in this ship. Cap never goes below 50% with hardeners and guns running. Rarely have to warp out to get shields recharged. I typically put another racial hardener in the utility mid slot, but sometimes an Afterburner is called for.
Max range is 108km which is fine for 99% of the missions, I use mostly lead ammo and antimatter. Lead has optimal of 86km, antimatter 45km. Sometimes sneak in Thorium for that 71km optimal range when dealing with slow battleships that are following me.
I try to get to ~50km range and stay there.
I love this ship.
EDIT: and 22K shields? Yes please! :)

I could do more dps in a dessy, is that pasive tanked? with cap rigs >:-E3 /join Cheeze & Whine Club
