Are you MD'ers also happy with changing all Excel sheet to the new names for missiles?
Thougth I had build some very dynamic fields, but it seems that I cant change the names on missiles for this month, else I have to reset a lot of data ;). Access on the other hand, was easy, it was build on the productID number, not the names.

Changing all the spreadsheets was a pain... I do hope that they do not revert the change back again. It is going to be a hell of work, to modify all guides/online pdf's/ and other stuff.. |

It came as some shock to me to find that after I had negotiatied a deal for a number of researched missle BPO's the contract was for different BPOs. I almost had a fall out with the seller before realising I was an idiot and the names had changed. |

Vlookup, that was the one making spreadsheets in space possible, why didn't they teach me that one @ college!

Why were the names changed? Nobody said it Nobody wanted it Nobody ever mentioned missile names beeing confusing.
Why was this done?
My opinion somebody in CCP hired a family member and like had to give him "a job" so he can justify him beeing in the corporation and reviving a salary.

PS: vlookup can create an increasing cpu load whereas sumif can stand in without the same cpu load. As your spreadsheet grows so to will the calculate load. Using vlookup, as a primary tool, eventually had me turning off auto-calculate. |

Excel is the game. EVE is a good third-party mod to that game. |

In case you are using item names instead of item ids for identification purposes you made something wrong. Just for visualization purposes "Find/Replace All" is your friend. |

First, thx for the SUMIF()... lets test it later on.
About the wrongness, I had not planned to use this excel sheet in the extended version state it ended up in. |

Are you saying that they shouldn't have done that? Just because you don't read the Patch notes or the Dev blogs doesn't mean that CCP didn't give us any information regarding the name change.
Hybrids: Antimatter Charges - Small - Medium - Large - Extra Large
Projectiles: EMP Charges - Small - Medium - Large - Extra Large
Crystals: Multifrequency - Small - Medium - Large - Extra Large
Missiles: Kinnetic - Light ("Bloodclaw" Light Missile) - Heavy ("Scourge" Heavy Missile) - Cruise ("Wrath" Cruise Missile) - Citadel ("Rift" Citadel Missile)
More user friendly for new players. Should have been done ages ago. Why where missiles the only ones with fancy names.

Thank GOD for the change.
I remember staring at my blue EM Cruise Missiles wondering why the hell is this thing called PARADISE ???????
Obviously you never got to T2 where the names split into Fury and Precision...and the designations for the lesser missiles along the same lines.....and then the Faction designations too.................
Really a quadruple bizzarro Naming System 'twas.........
And if one is bitter because it mangled a spreadsheet....please kill me if EVE becomes more complicated for me than pen and paper. I really would need a life then............. Well then why the "Trauma" missile name? Missiles generally have a single specific damage type. They're missiles! Just use the damage type then. It'll make life a lot easier.
I'd rather deal with Kinetic Heavy Missile or EMP Cruise Missile than whatever FOTM crappy name they give the things. At least then it would make some sort of sense. Now I've got to go through and modify not only existing data but past archived data for something that doesn't really accomplish anything.

Of course, if they changed it back, wouldn't you have to change your spreadsheets to reflect that...again?

Not me... have made the spreadsheets so EVE can change them forever... without trouble. Now use the Product ID only within the Excel sheet. Vlookup will add the name based on a list that can be changed easily, on the locations necessarily. |
