The Interstellar Gaming Consortium is proud to announce the fourth season of its premiere racing competition, the Racing League. This season is slated to begin on October 20th.
How the League Works The Racing League consists of a series of ten weekly races spread out over various regions within our star cluster. The League is further divided into three distinct classes: frigates, interceptors, and assault frigates. Standings are recorded for registered pilots on their own behalf in individual rankings, and if apart of a team will automatically be entered to score in team rankings as well. Team points do not transfer if the pilot changes teams. Unless banned, any corporation or pilot may participate in the races in any class at any time during the season, though it is reccommended to start as early as possible. At the end of the League, the top scoring pilot and team will win trophies and prizes for each class.
The ten regions for this season are as follows: Kador, Devoid, Sinq Laison, The Forge, Everyshore, Molden Heath, Kor-Azor, Tash-Murkon, Khanid, and Verge Vendor.
The region location of each race is usually announced one week in advance on the public boards, and reminder notifications will be sent out two days prior to the event via FTL mail through our mailing list, ISGC RACING. If you aren't sure how to join a mailing list, click here.
Racing Teams In addition to competing for individual points, racers may choose to form(or join) a racing team to earn additional prizes and a competitive edge over their peers. Teams may compete in any or all of the classes and will be scored separately based on the best score in each class from that team.
Creating a Team To register a team, contact me(Gyra Rho) via FTL mail or through the ISGC communication network with your team's name, the name of the team leader, any members planning to sign on with this team, and an optional logo to associate with that group. The cost to register a team is 5 million ISK, paid to myself directly along with your submission.
Member Contracts Team leaders have the option of making formal contracts with new members wishing to join their team. The stipulation indicates that a member is required to fly at least X number of races for said team and if unwilling to do so or without the consent of both team leaders that member may not join another team until that number of races is completed. That member may choose to leave their existing team and fly solo until their contract is up. These contracts are recognized by the League only with the full consent of all parties.
Again, this is an optional rule but fully enforced by the Racing League.
Team Leaders Team leaders are responsible for announcing when their team has added new members between or just prior to events. They will also be the recipients of the prizes at the end of the season, so be sure you trust your team leader before joining a team as the ISGC is not responsible for the prizes after they have been handed out. |

The Race Pre-Race Arrive at the official racing channel Racing League roughly an hour before the event to recieve the starting location of the event. The starting location will be listed on the channel MOTD. Around thirty minutes before the race, racers will be asked what ship they intend to fly in the event. Competitors may choose any ship in the interceptor, frigate, or assault frigate classes. No faction ships allowed. All modules and rigs are legal for the races.
Any number of racers from any corporation or team are allowed to participate in the event for any class desired. Roughly fifteen minutes before the event, competitors will be asked to send their racing fees directly to the event coordinator in the amount of 1 million isk. Racers(and their allies) are expressly prohibited from engaging one another outside the starting point during the one hour pre-race period at the risk of being denied into the event. The signal to begin the event will be made once all the racers are docked and ready, and a countdown has been made. Competitors are advised to prepare themselves for the event by setting their overview to see the other player ships and secure audit log containers.
During the Race... After the countdown, the race coordinator will announce the first waypoint location and the password to access the containers. This password applies to all of the waypoints during the event. Once the first waypoint and can password has been announced, the racers may undock and begin the event by proceeding to the first location. Any interference from allies not competing during the event will result in the disqualification of the individual and/or team who stands to gain the advantage.
Waypoints may require racers to travel to high/low security systems and to various celestial objects (moons, stars, planets, stargates, etc.) dictated by the organizer. Once the location is reached, players will need to locate the first waypoint container. Official waypoints are designated 'Waypoint X", where X begins at 1 and increments in numerical order. Players must access each waypoint to recieve credit for finishing. If the waypoint for any reason, cannot be located by more than one racer and is verified to be missing, the coordinator must be notified immediately and they will take action accordingly.
Enter the password supplied EXACTLY as instructed and wait for the container to open. Once opened there will be a number of bookmarks. Take one bookmark from the container and read the location inscribed on the label. NOTE that there IS a delay when opening containers. Tampering with the containers is PROHIBITED. Items added to the container, more than one bookmark taken from the container, or destroying/unanchoring the waypoint itself will result in immediate disqualification.
Racers will be instructed on the bookmark label the location of the next waypoint. DO NOT use the bookmark itself to set your autopilot or travel to the location; read the label and manually enter the location. Pilots continue through the waypoints until the final destination is given at waypoint 15, and will be identified as a station location. Racers will then proceed to this point and dock at the station, where their times will be recorded by the event coordinator waiting outside. Pilots are strongly advised to move the bookmarks acquired from their cargo hold to their People & Places section to avoid losing the locations if their ship is destroyed. |

Combat: Rules of Engagement Pilots may only engage one another in combat DURING the race, not before or after finishing. Should a vessel be destroyed in combat, racers will need to purchase the same model ship they started with to be counted at the finish line. Racers will be asked to submit their kill/loss mails to the race coordinator at the end of the event for accurate event reporting.
Pod destruction is expressly prohibited from League play, and will result in the disqualification of the racer and/or corporation. Any interference from personal/corporate allies during the event is also prohibited, and will result in the disqualification of the racer and/or corporation.
Post Race The race automatically ends after 3 hours. After all of the racers have completed the event, rewards will be handed out for the winners in each class. Ties will result in the rewards for both scores and divied up equally between the individuals involved. A race report will be written up detailing the updated season scores and race details on the public communications terminals.
Scoring & Race Rewards Individual racers will earn points for themselves and their corporation(if they have one) for the class they have chosen to participate in. Team scores are based on the first member of the team to finish, however, pilots are still competing against one another for the event prize and independent scores. The point total earnings for placement are: 1st - 25, 2nd - 20, 3rd - 16, 4th - 13, 5th - 11, 6th - 9, 7th - 7, 8th - 6, 9th - 5, 10th - 4, 11th - 3, 12th - 2, 13+ - 1
There will be a 1 mil entry fee for the racers at the beginning of each event collected prior to the event. The total fees distributed the following way: 65% 1st place winner 25% 2nd place winner 10% 3rd place winner
Sponsorship & Advertisement Third parties are welcome to participate by sponsoring other racers in the events by supplying them with equipment(prior to the race) or by paying their entry fees.
Corporations interested in being a sponsor for the league may do so by providing ISK or equipment as prizes for the winners of the racers. Sponsorship can come in several forms: 1. Prizes and/or ISK for the individual season rankings in any/all classes. 2. ISK for the season team rankings for any/all classes. 3. ISK/Prizes for individual classes in a single race. 4. ISK/Prizes for exhibition events.
Sponsors will be advertised in the form of their name, a phrase, and a link to a website with every formal communication made by the ISGC organizer. Depending on the circumstances, other details can be worked out privately by FTL mailing the organizer with details about what you'd like.
Full details on sponsorship can be found here.
Please contact myself(Gyra Rho) via FTL mail to inquire further about advertising on the Racing League.

I had the opportunity to interview Venture Racing Team captain and season three interceptor vice champion Takashi Kurosawa about his experiences in the Racing League.
What do you do outside of racing professionally? My main occupation is head of R&D for The Patriot Society. In addition to that I do my best to provide fleet support for our fleet operations when I have the time. When I was younger I did a lot of work for Lai Dai Corporation, but to be honest IÆm too lazy to be bothered with that nowà *laughs* - so now I make my way around mostly by inventing stuff and selling it on the market.
How did you first hear about the Racing League? It must have been near the end of season 1 when I stumbled upon it while browsing GalNet. Back then I was fresh out of CAS and didnÆt really feel that I was ready to race just yet. So instead I dragged friends along with me to a bar in Irjunen, The Nighthawk I think it was called, and would watch the races with a passion on the holofeeds whenever I could manage.
What made the Stiletto your interceptor of choice? When I started racing in the League towards the end of season 2, the field consisted of more or less only Rifters and Vigils. So after my first race in an Atron-class frigate, I switched to the Matari-designed Vigil-class frigate, my beloved El Tempo Gigante. I liked it so much that I continued using it for the rest of the season. Since then Matari designs have been a favourite of mine, so when time came to choose a ship for the new season the Stiletto came as a natural choice for me.
As a side note, I must admit that I've been getting some flak from a certain Gallentean redhead who seems to think it particularly brave that I, a male, should be man enough to fly a ship named the Stilettoà *grins* à fortunately her evil master plan of overtaking me in her frigate didnÆt succeed. *smiles*
What is your most memorable moment in the league to date? Unfortunately I donÆt have any of stories about racing neck and neck with Kay. *pauses* àthroughout the season I always seemed to either win relatively comfortably - or lose equally uncomfortably, you might say.
The most memorable moment was probably the race in Domain, race 5 I think it was. It was an important victory for me, because it demonstrated that I could beat Kay even if she was not shot down or not feeling quite fit to race.
Who do you anticipate being your closest adversary for season 4? If you had asked me this question a week ago, my answer would have been a straightforward ôKayö. However, since then not only has Quin made her debut in the Interceptor-class, a couple of favourites from season 1, Owi and Elsebeth Rhiannon, have returned to the League as well. Still, Kay has proven these two last seasons that she is a force (in more than one sense of the word) to be reckoned with so if I had to pick one I would still have to go with Kay.
Season 3 saw a rather dramatic upset for the interceptor titles in favor of Dragonstar and their team captain, Kayleigh Jamieson. Will this affect Venture Racing Team's stance towards Dragonstar for season 4? It will be one of apportioned deference. Season 3 is in the past, and what happened is behind us.
Venture Racing Team will not be the first to aggress Dragonstar or any other team for that matter. We will, however, respond swiftly and justly to any aggression imparted on any members of Venture Racing Team. (continued...)

Kayleigh Jamieson made a rather extensive justification for ordering the destruction of your ship at ninth race of Season 3. If you were in her position, what would you have done? To put it shortly, I would have made use of the resources of the Dragonstar team in a non-aggressive manner. As was demonstrated in the last race of the season, Kay is not the only Dragonstar racer capable of flying very fast indeed. In fact that was not the first occasion on which Scav managed to finish ahead of me. The very same thing happened in the 2nd race of the season.
*frowns slightly* In any case, I would have not shot down a friend because of an incident he had nothing to do with whatsoever, to ôlevel the fieldö û a supposedly level field with Dragonstar Racing Team on the one side and a solo racer on the other. But as I said, what happened is history, and I sincerely hope that with time our friendship will be rekindled.
Are you nervous about the transition from solo pilot to captain of a new racing team? It will certainly prove a challenge. Nervous, noà excited, yes. *smiles*
Luckily, Kendar has done a great job of recruiting some very talented capsuleers, so I am hopeful that we will do well in the League.
Do you have any advice for new racers to the league? DonÆt be intimidated by your first race. Everyone makes mistakes and more so in the first couple of races. Oh, yeah, and join one of the many new teams if you havenÆt already. Having more experienced team mates to help you out will be very helpful, IÆm sure.

Sounds like you are threatening people just because they dont wish to talk to you. At some point trying to constantly talk to someone becomes harrassment. Which leads to violation of TOS.

OVERVIEW The first race of the fourth season took place in the Kador region. Fielding thirty pilots from eight teams, the tension was palpable as the countdown ticked away. A generous mixture of seasoned veterans and green racers would ensure the evening would be anything but dull.
The racetrack itself was pendulum shaped swinging to one side of the region and then the other, and finally back again to the original position with the end points being the most dangerous locations. Fortunately, despite the presence of Blood Raiders in the low security points no one was destroyed during the event. No doubt the more aggressive racers are waiting patiently as they size up who their competition will be for the season.
The thirteenth waypoint at the eleventh moon of the Peyiri system caused a bit of a headache for many of the pilots when it suddenly disappeared from the scanners. Multiple racers reported the waypoint missing midway through the pack and didnÆt return again until after the end of the event. These spatial disturbances have been reported once before by the League two seasons ago, and continues to elude both season judges and the racers on the track.
Over fifteen pilots participated in the Frigate class this event, where Rifters dominated the field with several Vigils, Atrons, and Executioners mixed in. Galen Darksmith had the pleasure of being the LeagueÆs first Griffon pilot, a vessel regarded more as an ungainly eyesore than a racing bird.
Some have attributed the increase in Executioners in the races thanks to QuintralaÆs flawless victory last season, and proved to be just as effective this evening with Darina Rea in the lead. Remembered last season for being NeuroGENs raucous assault frigate pilot and now team captain for Dirtside, Darina managed to secure first place nearly four minutes ahead of her nearest competition.
Overspark, a League newcomer and Rifter pilot, has already made quite an impact by securing second place on his first event. Lief Siddhe of Scuderia Caille made his return to the Frigate class in the hopes of echoing his team captainÆs performance last season, starting off with a healthy third place finish.
The Interceptor class fielded a plethora of Ares models ships, with some Claws, Maledictions, and a lone Stiletto piloted by none other than season one champion Owi. Another blast from the past was Elsebeth Rhiannon of Venture Racing Team and Iconath, who found themselves pitted against Irongut and the previous seasonÆs frigate veterans, Quintrala and Searaph. Ms. Rhiannon proved to be a considerable adversary and would have finished much faster had her ship not experienced performance issues midway through the event.
VRT team captain Takashi Kurosawa found himself pitted once again against past season rival Kayleigh Jamieson, captain of Dragonstar Racing Team. Fighting nose to nose for the lead, he finally edged ahead of Ms. Jamieson to secure a win fifty seconds ahead. With Scavanger in a close third place, its clear that Dragonstar is still a formidable and close-knit team to contend with. |

The assault frigate class saw many of the previous season contenders competing for the pot once again. Jaguars seemed to be the flavor of the week as nearly half the racers fielded the Matari designed craft, while the Dragonstar Racing Team held steadfast in their Gallentean models.
Finishing nearly six minutes ahead of the competition, DeadRow appeared to be a serious adversary for the rest of the pack were it not for the fact that she had not accessed all the waypoints due to a malfunction. Her partner Kanunu secured second place for the team while season three assault frigate champion Dougalar claimed first.
Zzz made its presence in the assault frigate class as team captain Kazuo Ishiguro brought partner Delusion æFel along. It was fortunate he did, as a poor start by Mr. Ishiguro meant the spry newcomer had a chance to claim third place for himself and his team.

All in all, a great way to start off the season. So many pilots starting and finishing the race surely proves to be quite a challenge!

Unfortunately my race did not go to plan last night. I think I need to overhaul my pod's electronic systems before the next race. However I'm slightly surprised and very proud to be able to congratulate my team mate Dougalar on her win in the AF class after the disqualification of DeadRow for a rules infraction.
This is the second time in the last three races that a Dragonstar pilot has failed to access every waypoint due to some malfunction. Sounds like their team captain needs to do more training with her compatriots.

First of all, a compatriot is someone who hails from the same country. Hikari "DeadRow" Sato is Civire Caldari, I am Jin-Mei Gallente. The term doesn't apply to Hikari and I.
As for training, no amount of training we might do in between races or seasons will help avert what was basically an electronic glitch. What we obviously do need to do is run an internal investigation and fire whoever is to blame on the ground crew of our racing team. Clearly some engineer is failing somewhere along the line.

I didn't learn much about languages at school, in fact I never went. But a quick check with the Federation Library in Luminaire ((dictionary.com)) gives me the defenition:
Quote:
com+pa+tri+ot (kəm-pā'trē-ət, -ŏt') Pronunciation Key n. 1. A person from one's own country. 2. A colleague.
I was using the second meaning.

Your female friend is misinformed, your ship is named after a type of knife. A particularly sharp and pointed knife, designed to pierce through gaps in armour. A trait which makes it popular amongst assassins. You can rest assured your manliness is not in question.

I got off to quite a bad start, warping to the wrong belt and missing the 1st waypoint. I could probably have recovered from that, but two or three jumps later I realised that I hadn't picked up a bookmark there. The resulting delay was fatal, and, as Gyra noted, it was down to Delusion 'Fel to pick up some points for the team; his performance was exemplary.
Once I finally got going, I don't think I was doing badly, but by then the race was already decided. I shall be more alert next time!

Thank you for the vote of confidence sensai, for me finishing the race, regardless of position or points was the main thing, but im glad i could repay your patience, training and time with 3rd place for the team.
It was an awesome first outing for me surpassing all my expectations and i loved every second of the race, and ill most definately be seeing you all in Devoid.
As many, i made mistakes at the first waypoint that took me out of contention early on. Ill be working hard to ensure i dont make the same mistakes again, and next time the pilot slipstreaming your warp trail could be me

OVERVIEW The second race of the season took place in the Devoid region, a smaller secluded zone controlled by Imperial authorities. The track consisted of mostly low security systems that slingshot back to the starting position with a small respite of high security space at the end where it looped back on itself. Despite a consistent presence of Sansha drones at the belts, the area lived up to its name by being largely empty and no fatalities were reported. However, the race itself was anything but quiet.
The interceptor class saw some of the LeagueÆs most competitive speed demons slugging it out for dominance in the hope of etching out a lead for themselves and their team. Venture Racing Team exhibited excellent teamwork, with leader Takashi Kurosawa and runner up Elsebeth Rhiannon outmaneuvering the veterans of the Dragonstar Racing Team, Kayleigh Jamieson, Iconath and Scavanger. Ms. Jamieson suffered a serious setback when her ship experienced critical power failures all over, resulting in an unusually slow start.
Scuderia Caille was more than happy to take advantage of this, with Searaph and Quintrala finishing just behind the Dragonstar team captain. Following up the rear of the pack, Owi clearly wasnÆt pleased with the results as he managed to lose a twenty-five million ISK bet to Ms. RhiannonÆs husband, made prior to the race. Things have changed considerably since season one.
The frigate class was lively again as thirteen pilots lined up to compete, with a strong showing by the Brutally Clever Racing Team. Despite what appeared as a very aggressive team advantage, records afterward would disqualify three of their top scoring pilots, Sasha Contovis, TenakÆTalar, and Helsir Qyrdun, leaving Steph Wing to carry the teamÆs only score. Zedah Zoid of Dirtside raced consistently and finished in first place, picking up where Ms. Rea of the first race left off, with Jasen Nightwing of Venture Racing Team right on his heels. Sera Mujarkian, another member of Dirtside and league regular, has gradually improved his performance, securing third place for himself. Newcomers Evrit OÆHare and Nikilaiki Ruutarhara of Venture Racing Team slid into a comfortable seventh and ninth place finish for their class, only happy to receive her complementary last place prize red ribbon for her efforts.
The assault frigate class had a consistent showing of the usual suspects from M8S Racing team and Zzz, with a surprise class change from rookie Overspark who decided to sport a Matari designed Wolf. In a surprising turn of events, he not only beat many of the veterans but managed to secure first place for himself and the team by nearly two minutes. With this kind of trend, he could easily become the next great racing pilot of the League. Another newcomer, Myra Rodan of Boosters, also managed to slip into second place just ahead of Dougalar by sixteen seconds.

<<< Exhibition: Industrial Challenge >>>
The ISGC has scheduled its first exhibition event of the season:
Date: Sunday, November 4th Time: 20:00 EVE Standard Time Prize: 50,000,000.00 ISK Starting Region: Lonetrek
Details: Pilots will be competing against one another in Industrial or Transport Ship classes only. In addition to flying these classes, racers will be required to carry a cargo of up to 10,000 units of Data Sheets for Industrials and Soil for Transport ships. Each unit counts as one point for the racer, and upon finishing will transfer the contents of their cargo to the League official. The time taken to complete the course will be deducted from their score in the amount of one point per second. The person with the most points will win the prize money.
The course consists of ten waypoints across multiple regions. As usual, pilots should expect to traverse low security areas and celestial objects. Racers are allowed to gang together but no team scores will be recorded. If destroyed, pilots will be responsible for replacing their haul. After the event, the goods will be returned to the owners. There is a one million isk entry fee, and the second highest score of the event will win the amount collected from the fees.
Racers should arrive in the channel Racing League one hour in advance for the location of the starting position. Roughly thirty minutes before the race fees will be collected and information will be gathered by the participants. If you would like to recieve reminder mails of upcoming races, simply join mailing list ISGC RACING.

Oh, gosh...
So Tak crosses the finish line first... and roughly five minutes after that, the interceptor race is over? Nine racers in five minutes - the closest two only three seconds apart?
This is getting really really close! Amazing race, everyone!
I am still a bit disappointed about coming in 5th place (that is, 'winning in 5t place' ), after having kept right up with Tak and Else all of the race... but then again, it goes to show that problems may happen at any point during the race... even at waypoint 15, in plain sight of the finish line! In my case, the pod just went crazy and I had to finish the race blind and homing onto Searaph's ship.
Oh, well... I guess I have got to work harder at this.
Keep watching
Hugs, Q

OVERVIEW The first of four exhibition events of the fourth season, racers met to compete for the fifty million ISK prize using only industrial and transport ships. Tasked with carrying the most amount of water as quickly as possible from Lonetrek to Khanid, the participants were given the opportunity to take a longer and safer route or taking the shorter, low security path. With a difference of over twenty jumps between ten waypoints, the competitors would not have an easy time. One gatecamp could ruin everything.
Six competitors chose to brave the ungainly industrial class vessels: League veteran Owi and newcomer Pony chose to fly the higher technology transport ships while Kazuo Ishiguro, Evrit O'Hare, Kanunu, and Thomas Joia stayed with the traditional models. As expected, Iteron V's and Mammoths were the more common classes amongst this pack.
With the signal to begin the event announced over FTL communications, just outside the entrance to the CBD station saw an epic traffic jam as the tritanium whales struggled to break free. Pony cleverly snuck out of the pack and gained an early lead, but was short lived as Owi's Viator screamed past him minutes later. From that point forth, no one would even come close to the Booster's team leader and season one champion, securing a first place finish nearly thirty minutes ahead of the second place Pony. Kazuo Ishiguro and Kanunu nipped at Pony's heels repeatedly during the course of the event as they vied for third place, but a navigation error by Kanunu gave the position to his adversary. Meanwhile, Thomas Joia covered the rear of the pack while valiantly fending off local Blood Raiders at the asteroid belts.
Regretfully, Evrit O'Hare was forced to concede the race early due to an emergency, but luckily no one's vessel was destroyed this evening despite the tenacious and brutal assaults from the Blood Raider patrols. The pilots were also lucky in the areas they dipped through low security space, finding no gatecamps or pirates willing to take a shot at them.

Edited by: Kazuo Ishiguro on 06/11/2007 13:59:29 After considerable intrigue about the exact scoring system to be used, I suppose it's fitting that the fastest and most capacious haulers received the bulk of the prizes.
Although I wouldn't dream of questioning the outcome of this particular race, I'm still not decided as to the best way of ranking hauling ability. One good measure might be m^3 hauled per hour- for this race, it yields quite similar results:
1. Pony - 7710 2. Owi - 5847 3. Kazuo Ishiguro - 3542 4. Kanunu - 3266 5. Thomas Joia - 2185
In retrospect, I think Gyra was right when she initially proposed a handicap for transport ships. Although blockade runners have rather less cargo capacity and transport ships are a little slower, it's possible to fit a 10mn MWD and a tank to them while still leaving low slots free for expanded cargoholds and speed mods.
Kanunu and I both did this with T1 industrials, and both of us needed full racks of reactor control units & MAPCs. This cost us more than half our potential cargo capacity (but improved speed relative to with ECs fitted), so for next time, I'd propose that T2 industrials have to haul twice as much as their T1 counterparts. Ok, today was a totally insane race, with missing waypoints, failing comm chat logs, nonfunctional passwords and general chaos.
I personally had nuffin against the situation 'cause we're all still only (at least partly) human and such things happen, but last I heard Gyra will turn this into an exhibition race and we will repeat the SinQ Laison race at the end of the season for a grand finale.
Much fun was had at the Daredevil's Lounge afterwards, many new pilots were sighted dreenkeen and partyin', shame I had to leave so soon but we will see each other soon!
Fly fast!

SINQ LAISON RESULTS As Mr. Siddhe alluded, for those that attended will attest to the complete chaos that ensued during this evening's race. It is a rarity that I leave the organization of this event in the hands of anyone other than myself, if only for assurance that it gets done properly. Tonight's debacle has served only to reinforce my hesitancy to trust others to the competancy of its care, and unfortunately those that participate on a regular basis had to suffer as a result.
As compensation for time invested by the participants, I have refunded everyone's fees for the event this evening. Furthermore, I will be providing an additional 5 million ISK per class, per race for the remainder of the season as incentive for continued trust in the organization and assurance that this is not a consistent performance displayed by the Consortium. In the future, if I am unable to tend to the event myself I will simply postpone for a future date with as much advance warning as I am able to provide.
This event will be considered an exhibition, or practice exercise, and will not be counted towards the League scores. We will return to Sinq Laison at the end of the season as a make up event. For those interested in the details, I have provided track information and a raw data of the performances from the participants that attended this evening.

While entry fees were generously refunded by the league to each pilot, the eight VRT pilots who participated have all been encouraged to donate these fees to the league to cover any prize payouts at the league's discretion. In addition, Venture Racing has donated an additional 22mil to the league, likewise to be disbursed at their sole discretion as prizes for this race or events throughout the season.
This was a first race for several of our pilots, and the challenges presented have given us a keen insight as to how we can refine our field tactics and coordination, and I consider it the sort of experience that is absolutely invaluable to any racer. At VRT, we see every chaotic crisis as an opportunity, and we are prepared to capitalize on the technical errors of this race to put better sportsmen on the track in the future. I'd like to congratulate the winners of this race, as their victories on Sunday prove their adaptability to unusual situations and their skill as capsuleers.
Furthermore, I'd like to thank the Team Venture sponsors for all of their support in our endeavors to provide quality entertainment for our fans and their customers!

As with Venture Racing Team, this event saw Dragonstar's newest racer face a track for the first time. And what a track. Still, it served as a good exercise for him and the last time we spoke he seemed eager to give it another go. Therefor, the Dragonstar Racing Team welcomes Cirrulan Ossogara to the roster with open arms.
On a less merry note, we take the opportunity to announce Ms Hikari "DeadRow" Sato has left the Dragonstar corporation and will be unlikely to race regularly in the league anymore this season. She will remain in the Dragonstar Racing Team roster for the time being, though.
We wish her the best of luck in whatever new paths life takes her. You will forever be part of the Dragonstar extended family, Hikari. Fly safe.

Very funny But if you really want to keep worried about such things I advise you to look at Jiko's title. I believe it was Lillith Blackheart who first dubbed him "Dragonstar's little hitman." Now I just have to get him racing again so you have someone to worry about, I guess. Planetside issues have kept him away from the last few races. I'm sure he'll be with us when you least expect it

Gyra, are you kidding? This was a blast! Let's do that again, pleeease!
This race had everything totally fun on it!
- Space aerobics for fifteen waypoints, follow the instructor's lead, then race madly to the showers... - A visit to the popcorn factory on fire, at Rancer-Crielere. Twice. - Different racing skills were tested this time, such as twitch-time, blind luck and fast reading (I am still hating that spell-check race some time ago...) - Gaelic. Right on spot too, as half the cans did not even speak English... - Owi poking his way to the podium. - Whatever, who needs the score. I won for the first time ever!
This was the best one-waypoint race, ever. I want more!

What Quin said. I gotta admit I loved that last race and wouldn't mind if it was included for points in the Championship, since technically even unforeseen problems such as those that we encountered on the last race are a part of racing.
And off course because I came in second and won't get points to show for it :)

Ladies and gentlemen of the ISGC Racing League, I have an announcement to make.
After much thought and contemplation, I have decided to resign as captain of the Brutally Clever Racing Team. An independent pilot is at a significant disadvantage in these races, in many ways, and with the continued lack of participation from my (former) teammates, an independent pilot is effectively what I have become. Having decided to resign from BRUCRAT, I pondered the question of whether I wanted to race as an official independent, and the answer that echoed back was "no". When I considered what team I should sign on with, the first that jumped to my mind was Venture.
I want to be clear, for the record, that I was not recruited or persuaded in any way by members of Venture. The decision to resign from BRUCRAT was my own, as was the decision to apply for a position in the Venture team.
The reason for this is the Venture Racing Team shares a lot in the way of methodology and philosophy with myself. Being somewhat of an experienced racer(though I admit I'm better at shooting things), I feel I can be a great asset to them, and I'm sure they can teach me a thing or two as well.

OVERVIEW The third race of the fourth season took place Saturday evening in The Forge region, commonly known for having one of the busiest trade hub systems in the known universe. Fortunately for the racers they wouldn't have to deal with the traffic delays of Jita, and instead had to face roving bands of Guristas and capsuleer pirates that normally inhabit the seedier sectors of State space.
The interceptor class was busy this evening, featuring nine pilots across five separate teams. Quintrala, team captain of Scuderia Caille and feisty red-headed Malediction pilot, maintained a slim lead throughout the event as she struggled to fend off the nearly unstoppable Takashi Kurosawa. Fortunately for her, a rather ambitious squad of Guristas managed to scramble the Venture Team Captain at Osaa, securing precious seconds to score her first inty-class win of the season. Elsebeth Rhiannon, who had been battling with Dragonstar's Kayleigh Jamieson for most of the event managed to inch ahead of the Jin-Mei for third place.
The frigate class was anything but tame as eight competitors took to the track in an assortment of models, ranging from the popular Executioners, Vigils, and Rifters, to the rarely seen Tristan class. However, Scuderia Caille were clearly having a good evening as Lucas Avignon managed to keep up with the lead pack of interceptors in his Executioner. Thanks to his piloting ability and Scuderia's teamwork he had finished more than five minutes ahead of the second place finisher, Evrit O'Hare. Jasen NightWing slipped into third place comfortably, while Sephiroth Valentine of the newly formed Team RAMU was the event's unfortunate victim, destroyed by capsuleer pirates at the second waypoint. Despite the setback, his spirits remained high as he vowed to return for the next race.
The assault frigate class featured many new faces in addition to the season regulars, including an impressive display from Venture Team Racing with three pilots. However, that didn't phase season champion Dougalar much, who finished over a minute ahead of newcomer SAI 731 and Saikoyu, both of VRT. SAI was noted in particular for being the first racer to debut the Hawk since the assault frigate class was allowed into the League.

I struggled with several issues in the early stages of the race, including waypoint naming irregularities (naughty Gyra ). Thankfully my team mate was able to help me from ending up last in the Interceptor class. At the end of the race I was able to repay the favour when she had some problems and through our teamwork helped her claim 1st place in the AF race. I won and by a few minutes Quitrala was brilliant as usual, I'd like to congradulate all the other winners and of course all the participants. This was the first race from my perspective that went according to plan, the passwords worked at all the waypoints and there was only 1 waypoint that I found that didn't have a bookmark, wheither that was a technical glitch or they were simply all taken I don't know.
So congrats to Gyra for putting in so much effort to make the race as good at it was.
I would just like to say that Scuderia Caille will also be entering in the Assault Frigate category for the next race.
Hopefully we can get more new participants as this championship is still wide open.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the next event in just under two weeks

I would just like to say that Scuderia Caille will also be entering in the Assault Frigate category for the next race.
Hopefully we can get more new participants as this championship is still wide open.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the next event in just under two weeks
I've already mentioned to Quin that I'm tempted to sign up for the class just to find out what exactly you did to score such a commanding victory, even beating a good number of interceptors.

I had the fortune of meeting up with Dirtside's team captain, Darina Rea, to ask some questions:
What do you do outside of racing professionally? Professionally? Not a thing really. I like to dabble in engineering and other sciences a bit at times. Usually to blow something up spectacularly. A pyrotechnition I think that was called right? ItÆs fun, thatÆs for sure. Although cleaning up is sort of tedious, but thereÆs cleaners for that.
How did you first hear about the Racing League? From my former CEO. She poked me someday and said æYou! Racing! Now!Æ. Ah well, not like that exactly, but thatÆs the gist of it. Because I was curious and it sounded like good fun I just went with it. As it turns out, that was a good idea.
What is your favorite ship to race in? DonÆt have one. The trouble is there are so many ships that I just canÆt pick one to be the favourite. I had a hell of a time deciding I wanted to fly in an Executioner this season.
Season 4 saw you in an Executioner, a surprising change from last season where you competed in assault frigates. What inspired this move? The challenge. With the last season champion moving on to the interceptor class the title was basicly up for grabs. So I thought, why not? Now if I just had that first place back already it would be altogether peachy.
What is your most memorable moment in the League? Good question. Hmmmà probably the moment I let CONCORD blow myself to little itty tiny bits. That was a huge face palm moment. Bit of an embarrassment too. The following race however was the best moment as finally everything went ok and I got both a kill and a win. This season itÆs ofcourse the double first place the team had. Awesome.
Who do you feel is your toughest opponent for season 4 to date? Jasen [NightWing], and IÆve added Lucas to the list after the last race. They arenÆt as good as I am of course, or I like to think so at least! But good enough to keep up with the interceptors. Darn things. Hate em. But IÆm pretty confident in my own abilities.
What is it like to be captain of a freshman team like Dirtside? Fun. It a nice experience, specially because everyone seems to work together like clockwork. ItÆs also great to try getting the team to be faster as a whole.
You had a rather colorful record in the League last season flying for Team NeuroGEN, earning the award for most kills. Should the audience look forward to another explosive show before the season's end? IÆm not spoiling any surprise. And I like to put Kendar on edge for some reason, and everyone else too ofcourse. Mean, isnÆt it?
Do you have any advice for new racers to the league? Poke the veteran pilots for tips æn tricks. DonÆt be afraid to take a risk. And find a team you can make a difference in. ISGC Portal

OVERVIEW Racers gathered in sleepy Citadel this past Sunday, fitted for the LeagueÆs second exhibition event and over fifty million ISK in prizes. Participants were expected to be fitted in their best cruisers, a class not often associated with speed or agility, yet somehow six brave souls managed to find a way.
Despite the light-hearted atmosphere of the exhibition event, it was clear the competitors had their game faces on as they approached the starting line. Three Thoraxes and Stabbers were slated to participate, and although the Minmatar model was favored to win many saw the Gallentean design as its chief competitor and best chance at victory.
Takashi Kurosawa edged an early lead in his Stabber and held it firmly for the entire event, as Darina Rea and Kayleigh Jamieson clawed and scratched for second place. The Dirtside team captain managed to edge ahead of Ms. Jamieson by a narrow four second lead at the finish line. Kazuo Ishiguro easily held fourth place while Irongut trailed almost two minutes behind, and Kendar Zek and his trusty Thorax held the rear finishing nine minutes later.

OVERVIEW Last Saturday's event took place in the Everyshore region, a sleepy suburb of the Federation. Shaped in a figure eight pattern, pilots encountered a healthy mix of low security waypoints and even detoured to the site of the Quafe Premiere tragedy, where UDI terrorists destroyed a space station with many prominent holoreel celebrities aboard.
Despite the League's lowest turnout with only fourteen pilots, the competition was far from tame as the interceptor and frigate classes remained up for grabs. Dougalar of M8's had the fortune of flying unchallenged in her Jaguar as no other assault frigate pilots showed, although she was clearly disappointed by the lack of competition.
Kayleigh Jamieson scored a much-needed first place finish in the interceptor class, capitalizing on Takashi Kurosawa's frequent system problems and Quintrala's navigational errors. The Venture team captain limped to the finish line at a miserable fifth place finish, allowing Ms. Jamieson within five points and Dragonstar two points from Venture for the season standings. Mr. Kurosawa was indignant about the loss, stating that the race would have ended much different if they were on equal footing.
While veterans in Dragonstar fought the Venture Team juggernaut, Scuderia Caille have suddenly become a fierce adversary threatening both the interceptor and frigate classes. Displaying expert team tactics and precision on the track, Quintrala has become the unshakable shadow nipping at both Ms. Jamieson and Mr. Kurosawa's heels, fast becoming the wild card in an otherwise predictable lineup. Meanwhile, the Brothers Caille, Lucas Avignon and Lief Siddhe, have shaken up an already turbulent frigate class scoring well in first and second place in Everyshore, dethroning Zedah Zoid for individual standings.
Nearing the end of the first half of the fourth season, the frigate and interceptor classes are anything but clear cut. It's anyone's game and the coming races will tell who comes out on top. Here are the details for Saturday's race.

Allez allez Scuderia Caille!
Yep, the team is working better than ever, and if Bastien did not have some problems with his ships overview (he couldn't see one of the waypoints, losing precious time) we would have scored even better. I believe he will show much better performance on his next race and undoubtedly we will see him on the podium before the season ends.
Hopefully I won't miss much more races by the end of the season and hope Lucas and me can take the frigate class. Who knows, maybe now we finally get some sponsors, hehe.

This handsome scoundrel was hard to find, but I managed to score some quiet time with Owi for an interview:
What do you do outside of racing professionally?
Mainly killing stuff. Deadspace locations, cleaning asteroid belts or running missions for Minmatar Corporations. Currently workin' for Republic Fleet. I also do alot of researching and manufacturing. 0.0 is a good place to make a profit. *lowers his voice* Buying & selling some items, shhh!
How did you first hear about the Racing League?
Heard about ISGC from the annoucment of Season One from an advertisement.
What is your favorite ship to race in?
The Republic Firetail. *waves to Kayleigh* And currently the Stiletto.
What is your most memorable moment in the League?
Sunday, November 11th. The Sinq Laison Event during Season 4. This was likely memorable for all of us i think and in that way a memorable race to not do it again like that.
Who do you think is and will be your greatest adversary on the track for season 4?
Takashi Kurosawa. I currently don't know how he is that freakin' fast. He's the first one at waypoint one and the first who leaves it. When I get to waypoint two in all the races during this season, he was always out of the system. This unknown makes him the greatest adversary for me. Is he a robot?!
You had made a rather turbulent departure during season two. What made you decide to return to the fourth season?
I love racing and challenges. I had all these good memories from Season One; Great pilots and races. These memories made me want to return. It's a great event and a good balance to all the killing stuff.
Being the League's first frigate champion, were you surprised by the competition in the interceptor class this season?
After my first race back, oh yeah. You can tell who was flying last season and has a good rhythm. Like some pilots have said, "I'm bit rusty..." and need to get into it again. After a long break from racing and starting with interceptors, you need to learn to handle it properly as it has plenty of sub warp power.
How do you feel about the legality of boosters in civilized space?
I dont like much how CONCORD is handling the Narcotic/Booster story. A few years ago they were legal, then they came illegal and not long ago Narcotics became readily available from the major pirate factions. Customers were gettin' turned on and off without warning or a story behind it.
Boosters were very difficult to get and or produce. Not long ago, skillsets were being distributed to handle their production. Gas Cloud harvesting was possible in lower security areas and now recently with changes in the SCC they will now be made legal for trading. I'm okay with these changes to improve the narcotics market, but news about it is slim these days. For the smuggling trade it seems CONCORD treats us like naughty children and can't seem to make up their mind how to deal with us, but either way we're getting the raw end of the deal.
Do you think booster use will be a factor in the Racing League?
Everything can be a factor to gain more speed in warp or subwarp. But even when you have the best equiment or skills, it won't give you the key to win a race.
*thinks a moment* Yes they are the key! Use boosters and you win for sure! If you wanna buy X-Instinct Booster with a velocity modifier bonus of 10/15/20 percent, call me! *winks*
Do you have any advice for new racers to the league?
Practice, Practice, Practice.

Originally by: Gyra Rho Due to recent capsule firmware changes and unforeseen scheduling conflicts, I have re-arranged the remainder of the events.
Top ten reasons people are not flying this week:
10. The fit crew ran out of baby blue paint and refuse to let you fly your ship until it is ready.
9. You are flying, actually, but the station seems somehow bigger and it takes time now to get out!
8. Your pod will not boot. Something to do with pod.ini
7. You are shopping for a decent headset, er, egonics system.
6. Mining is not as cool as it used to be.
5. Clone union workers are fed up, on strike, swapping implants and playing practical jokes on sleeping customers.
4. Booster production, bombed. Can not get out of bed without your boosters.
3. Objects on widescreen may be closer than they appear.
2. You have noticed these "family" and "friends" people around, they look strangely familiar and you decide to meet them...
1. You got a patch with pod goo (goo-o-tine?) on your arm. And that patch is working OK!
Cheers everyone, see you when the dust settles down

OVERVIEW The Racing League ran its fifth event of the season tonight in the Molden Heath region. The smallest section of Republic space and also the least protected, Angel Cartel roamed freely through asteroid belts while pirate capsuleers lurked in the cold lifeless vaccuum in search of easy prey. The race track was designed to send pilots through the region in a circular fashion, where a majority of the waypoints lacked the presence of CONCORD. For one pilot this would prove his undoing.
The race began with quite a bang as racing regular DeVinces made a fatal mistake heading to waypoint one in Bosena, warping to a wrong belt where a hostile vagabond lay in wait. With the Vigil torn away from his capsule, DeVinces escaped to safety regretfully bowing out of the race hoping to return again with better luck next week.
The remainder of the frigate class was lively as six pilots vied for top position this evening. Scuderia Caille displayed considerable teamwork capability in the past few weeks making them a serious contender for the league titles and once again Lucas Avignon failed to disappoint. Captain Darina Rea and Zedah Zoid of team Dirtside remained hot on his heels during the entire event, finishing within two minutes of his Vigil. Meanwhile, Thulla Icin of the Venture Racing Team made her debut performance in the matari designed Vigil as well, finishing in a respectable last place finish just behind Ares Nightshade.
The interceptor class has erupted into a brutal three way game of leap frog as team captain's Kayleigh Jamieson and Quintrala nibble away at league leader Takashi Kurosawa's once formidable lead. The slightest error from any one of these contenders could spell disaster for the victim, evaporating any hopes for a claim at the title. For the time being it appears Mr. Kurosawa maintains the top spot, but with five races left its anyone's guess who will walk away the victor.
Despite Dougalar's sizeable advantage in the assault frigate category, competitors continue to chip away at her lead in the hope of possibly stealing the title from under her. This evening saw Zelseus of Dirtside claim the first place position in his shiny Jaguar, while fans saw Scuderia Caille branch out into this class as Bastien Lazare slid into second place in his Enyo. Dougalar placed a modest third place while Venture team pilot SAI 731 closed up the rear in his Hawk.

Go Caille, go Caille!
Anyway, take a moment and think about it... this was the first race post patch and there were no major problems!
We had ourselves a race, for most of the race.
The last can was a surprise? So what
We raced with voice comms. And it worked!
And we had this nice after-race get-together with everyone chatting at the same time. Nice to hear the voices behind the faces!
So, other than Takashi winning (Again! How unimaginative ), I would say this was a pretty nice race and one to be remembered.
Cheers, and here is looking forward to racing next year!

This is true, but I do believe the vast majority of the racers out there were actually racing with the old interfaces on, not the new. Even so, there seemed to be no strange electronic glitches on any of us, so that's a plus.

OVERVIEW The sixth event of the Racing League took place in the Kor-Azor region, a small area occupied by the Amarr Empire. With over fifty-eight systems in the region and nearly half unprotected by CONCORD, the odds of finding trouble were extremely high as Blood Raiders roamed freely through the asteroid belts. Container passwords were set to ôArticioö in deference to the regionÆs popularity.
RACE TRACK StartNakregde II - Amarr Certified News Development Studio 1Leva IX - Asteroid Belt 1 2Nibainkier III - Asteroid Belt 2 3Keproh VIII - Moon 5 4Zatamaka - Star 5Enal X - Asteroid Belt 3 6Liparer VII - Asteroid Belt 8 7Imih - Liparer Stargate 8Choga VII - Ice Field 1 9Soumi - Planet IV 10Miroona IV - Asteroid Belt 5 11Piri III - Moon 2 12Atarli IV - Asteroid Belt 1 13Ami X - Asteroid Belt 6 14aAmdonen V - Asteroid Belt 1 14b Daran - Planet I 15aAndrub - Star 15b Gademam VI - Asteroid Belt 4 EndAndrub VI - Ministry of War Bureau Offices (raw image and data available)
The starting point to the track was one jump from the capitol system, Kor-Azor Prime and ventured southward until waypoint nine, where it doubled back toward the origin. Waypoint thirteen in the Ami system split the remainder of the race into two routes, where racers were given the choice of approaching a point nestled in the asteroid belt or warping to a distant container over 150 kilometers away. Although equidistant from the endpoint, one route led through low security space and the other under the safety of CONCORD protection. A majority of pilots chose the closer waypoint in fear of the distant one being a false container and found they had to take the low security route until the finish. Fortunately, no one lost their vessels during this event despite the thick Raider presence.

The frigate class was unusually light with only five racers, but the event itself yielded a surprising finish from rookie racer Thulla Icin of Venture Racing Team. Piggybacking on her fellow interceptor team members, Ms. Icin managed to slip ahead of the Dirtside gang and team captain, Darina Rea by almost two minutes. Venture covered the rear of the pack with racing newcomer Renaika Verinaisi, who performed exceptionally well for her first event in a golden Executioner. |

Venture team owner Kendar Zek surprised many when he announced his intent to fly an executioner-class frigate, rumored to be the same one flown by Quintrala that led her championship in season three. Unfortunately, any hope of seeing its performance was quickly doused as its pilot experienced system difficulties and resigned from the event after the first waypoint. This was Mr. ZekÆs first appearance after a self-imposed two-race suspension issued by his team for unethical behavior.

The interceptor class was busy as ever with nine pilots competing for the title. After an extended absence Elsebeth Rhiannon returned with a vengeance, managing to keep up with League leader and captain Takashi Kurosawa as she muscled DragonstarÆs Kayleigh Jamieson out of second place. Kazuo Ishiguro of Team Zzz also returned to the races after his own mysterious absence from the League, sporting a whole new look in his dashing Stiletto.
Red-headed fireball Quintrala managed to set a new personal record for pilot errors during the race, fulfilling karmic justice for partying way too hard during the break finishing in fourth place. Owi and Daran Hudson nipped at her heels the entire way, careening into the finish line just behind her. Scavanger desperately tried to recover from a crippling system failure at the starting line, but never managed to rejoin the pack finishing in last place.

As for partying way too hard I am still trying to find Lief, Lucas and Thom who are probably still celebrating.

Six competitors lined up for the frigate class in a colorful mixture of Vigils, Rifters, and Executioner-class vessels from the top three teams. However, Venture Racing Team would prove triumphant through superior team tactics. Thulla Icin once again captured the first place prize, anchoring her way to the finish-line with Jasen Nightwing close in tow. ScuderiaÆs only frigate racer Lief Siddhe snuck into third place in his rifter, while class leader Zedah Zoid made a painful finish in last place. The interceptor class was as wild as ever with ten racers battling it out for the win. Takashi Kurosawa maintained his iron grip over first place, solidifying his position with the aid of wingman Elsebeth Rhiannon, pushing back their teamÆs two principle competitors. Mrs. Jamieson and Quintrala finished seconds later, while Scavanger recovered from a last place performance last week, finishing a mere three seconds ahead of ScuderiaÆs Searaph.
A rather surprising turn of events revealed Darina Rea, team captain of Dirtside, flying in the interceptor class in her Raptor. Caldari vessels are rarely chosen due to their high mass and modification layout compared to other models, which makes their presence a bit of a rarity in the League. Nevertheless, its performance only managed to spare its pilot from a last place finish.

On behalf of Team Venture, I'd like to thank everyone who made this a fun and challenging event, particularly Ms. Jamieson, whose individual skill continues to boggle the minds of our planning staff in almost every race. We're looking forward to the next race.
On a personal note, I hope the crowd at the Daredevil's Lounge is more lively at the next post-race celebration. Given the low turnout after Race 7, even from my own team, the drinks will once again be on my tab, as I'm looking to celebrate victory, whether it's ours or yours.
Good luck to everyone in the upcoming exhibition!

I would like to congratulate the Venture Racing Team on finally getting their dream of a first place in all classes at the same time. It's a feat of team work that deserves the respect of everyone out there on the track.
The Dragonstar Racing Team furthermore apologises for not showing that respect in person at the Daredevil's last night. Scavanger had to attend to an emergency planetside and I was too drained by the effort on the track to manage more than the trek to the nearest hotel in Abai.
Again: congratulations, VRT.

This means a lot to me coming from you, Kayleigh. As for last night's post-race event, I think most of the league had other affairs to attend. Only Thulla, Zeke, and I made an appearance from our team. We're looking forward to seeing you next time.

Hmmm... this time I did not make any navi error and still am coming in 4th.
Originally by: Gyra Rho Pilots were then presented with an option at waypoint ten in the Goram system that split into two separate paths.
Oh yes, that one. We took route A when I was still ahead of Kay and it turned out to be some 40 AU longer and have longer warps than route B with all the short jumps. That one choice did cost us enough seconds at the finish line...
Anyway, not that I am complaining. It was a gamble and it failed , but I am happy that there is a gambling option, because one of these days we are going to hit it right and...

Pre-Race Analysis
With the weekend's race soon upon us, I figured I might write a little bit on where it is, and what might be encountered there, as well as a run down of the eligible ships.
The Location
The race is to be held in the Aridia region. It is claimed by the Amarrian Empire, but, as there is little profit to be had, it's ignored by most. One important point, is that for one, it contains a high number of low-security systems, as well as a jump-gate to the 0.0 regions of Delve, and to Fountain. It also connects to Gallente and Khanid systems. The region contains only ten systems with full CONCORD protection, and even those are surrounded by low security areas. Anyone entering the area is advised to be on guard, as pirates are likely to be in the area, especially at those points connected to high security systems.
Ships
This race allows the use of advanced frigates. The three classes available to racers are Covert Ops, Stealth Bombers, and Electronic Attack frigates. This puts forth some very interesting potential strategies, considering the location of the race.
For starters, the number of low security systems brings up the obvious possibility of pirates along the route. Covert Ops and Stealth Bombers are well known to be some of the most effective ships available, when it comes to avoiding unwanted attention in lower security systems. Though you also have to consider where the waypoints might be - it's very possible that covert ops pilots will have to expose themselves along the route.
On the other side - Electronic Attack ships are significantly faster and more agile than the average covert ops or stealth bomber, though they lack the cloaking abilities of the others, they have several other options available with their electronic warfare abilities when it comes to pirates.
Obviously, this is not the only option, as there is much more to consider when you look at the ship choices. You have to also factor in how far you have to go in warp, and your ship's ability to align quickly, especially if you happen to be under attack. And as with any race, the age-old balance of speed versus the ability to withstand attack is still there.
In the end, I'm hoping for a good selection of each ship class available, as the possibility for different strategies could lead to a very interesting race.

OVERVIEW Advanced Frigates were the center stage for this evening's exhibition race, giving racers the opportunity the choice of competing in Covert Ops, Stealth Bomber, and Electronic Attack Frigates for over ninety million ISK in prizes. Unfortunately, only two pilots took advantage of this opportunity, League veterans Kazuo Ishiguro and Caille diva Quintrala.

This evening's exhibition event took place in the Aridia region. A desolate, lawless area of space bordering Fountain and Delve, the gates were littered with the charred corpses of capsuleers and the asteroid belts were rife with Blood Raider activity. The track itself consisted of ten waypoints that looped back to the starting system, with only two of the ten points protected by CONCORD activity.
RESULTS 1. Quintrala - Hyena (0:41:24) 2. Kazuo Ishiguro - Hyena (0:43:46)
Both skilled pilots and no strangers to the racing profession, seemingly on equal footing piloting the same class and model, the Hyena. The race began with an early lead from Quintrala that quickly evaporated after an unexpected power loss rendered her dead in space. Mr. Ishiguro, taking advantage of this mishap, quickly cinched the lead but couldn't sustain the advantage for long. Soon, the red-haired daredevil had recaptured the lead and sped through the finish line nearly two minutes ahead of her rival. Relatively unscathed, the capabilities of Kazuo's craft were put into question near waypoint ten, where Blood Raider thugs made their best attempt to destroy him.
REWARDS 25,000,000 ISK Quintrala (1st Place) 45,000,000 ISK Quintrala (1st in class, courtesy of House of Marbles) 15,000,000 ISK Kazuo Ishiguro (2nd Place)
Special thanks to both racers and all the audience who came out to support the event. Stay tuned for details on the League's return to the Khanid region on the 27th!

Consortium reporter Garion Avarr caught up with Team Zzz captain, Kazuo Ishiguro to talk about his experiences in the League.
You have been racing in the ISGC League, as near as I can tell, since the second season. How did you first come to join the League?
Back then, it was advertised in the events forum on GalNet. it seemed a bit more interesting than all the lotteries, so I decided to give it a go.
Had you done any racing prior to your career in the League? No, but I took a fairly keen interest in speed and the mechanics that govern it. To this day I maintain a list of records that pilots have set in various ship classes: LINK
What do you do professionally outside of racing?
I'm an industrialist, in common with most of the other pilots who have flown for the Zzz team. I also rent out a research tower in Sinq Laison. I find this more relaxing than trading.
You have, I am told, twice won a certain Caldari Navy Caracal. Could you tell us a little about this?
Heh, I should have known this would come back to haunt me. The first time I donated it to the league, I'd missed quite a lot of races and the gap between the top few pilots and most of the rest of the field seemed quite impassable. So by having it as a prize for 10th place, I felt that I was giving newcomers something achieveable to aim for. It was pure coincidence that I finished 10th in season 2 and won it back.
I wasn't sure what to do with it after that. I took up destroyer racing in season 3 and I thought that donating it might encourage more people to compete, but no real competition emerged and I won it a second time. So at the beginning of the current season, I donated it towards the pilots' pot for the AF league. Dougalar has put in an outstanding performance this season and wholly deserves to win it.
You seem to often end up being either the only, or almost only, pilot competing in a certain class . . . such as in the Covert Ops Exhibition that featured yourself and Quintrala, and the Destroyers class in Season Three. How do you feel about this?
Well, it's not for want of trying to encourage more people to compete. I've been working on a proposal for tweaking the scoring system that might encourage teams to spread out a bit more among the different classes.
Kendar Zek and yourself both share a reputation for poor performance in the standings, despite being regular fixtures of the races. Despite this, you both seem to have a fair amount of popularity. Do you have any theories as to why this is so?
Well, I think we've both dealt with it quite stoically, and we're both benefactors towards the league. Kendar has also done an immense amount of promotion and recruitment; I'm very impressed with the team he's managed to build. In an odd way, we're both quite competitive - even if it's just about who can complain louder.
If you had to choose between notoriety or victory, which would you choose?
Well, each is quite fun in its own way, but notoriety allows for more variety. I don't think people ever quite looked at me in the same light after I triggered the ship-scanning epidemic towards the end of season 2 (iirc). I'm not averse to the occasional victory, though.
Also, that time in season 3 when I entered the Destroyer class in a Mammoth (with a packaged destroyer in the cargo bay - the rules at the time never said you had to actually pilot one...) was quite a riot. One of the frig pilots complained that they got bumped almost 40km off a waypoint when I chugged in at 1300m/s.
What moment has been most memorable to you in racing?
The first race of season 2, when 21 pilots warped in at the first waypoint. I'm not going to forget that any time soon. There was a sense that the league had really taken off. |

Do you have any advice for the newer pilots out there, both as far as racing goes, and otherwise?
Use lots of inertia stabilisers & nanofibers, and stick with cheap equipment. It's astonishingly effective and there's very little difference if you upgrade.
One last thing. There has been a slight controversy that we need you to resolve. Exactly how is your name pronounced?
This is probably best resolved when I eventually upgrade to using voice comms. Until then, just say what you see!
Kazoo it is, then.
It ends -uo, not -ou. Roughly speaking, Ka-shew-oh.

One of the larger sectors of space, the absence of inhabitable stations in Khanid present the region as much more desolate than it really is. Agil, one of the regionÆs principle trade hubs, was the starting location for the eveningÆs event. Heading deep into low security space, racers then had to leap frog back towards the finish line at Parses. Blood Raiders and pirates were rampant in the area and presented a serious threat to many of the racers.

Khanid saw a vigorous outpouring of frigate pilots from virtually every team in the League. Expert team coordination once again gave Thulla Icin an edge against her competition, and this time she really needed it. An extraordinary performance from Overspark (Dirtside) showed that despite his absence from a majority of races he hadnÆt lost his touch, finishing a mere eleven seconds behind her. Dirtside racer Sera Mujarkian slipped into third place in his Executioner, while Venture Team pair Renaika Verinaisi and Jasen Nightwing settled into fourth and fifth places.
Racing newcomers Tsavu Irika (of M8S) and Wei Law (Team Khanid) followed shortly thereafter, with DeVinces finishing up at the rear of the pack. However, a misunderstanding of the rules with Mr. Law forced his disqualification for missing some of the waypoints. Kendar Zek pulled out of the race yet again for undisclosed reasons.

The interceptor class pitted nine racers against one another for this event. Maledictions and Ares class vessels were the preferred designs. Since the beginning of the season, Ms. Jamieson has been nipping at the heels of Venture team captain Takashi Kurosawa, yet his near flawless performance has taken him to the lead. Despite falling behind the Mistress of Momentum, Mr. Kurosawa managed to recover towards the end of the race and eventually passed her, sealing yet another victory with a nineteen second lead.
Quintrala scarfed up third place for herself and Scuderia Caille with her teammate Searaph, while Darina Rea made a considerably improved performance in her Raptor. Despite missing a couple waypoints and lots of angry words, Elsebeth finished in a respectable sixth place with Irongut placing a mere six seconds later. Kazuo Ishiguro ran into stiff competition for last place this evening against newcomer Spoon Thumb of Team Khanid, who certainly kept the veteran guessing.

Another close call for Scuderia Caille in the assault frigate class, as Bastien LazareÆs Wolf outpaced his three Jaguar competitors thanks to close team cooperation. DirtsideÆs Zelseus slipped ahead of League leader Dougalar for second place, while newcomer Prime finished at a respectable time.

Well, it's official. Mathematically Dragonstar no longer has a chance at the title, neither individually nor team-wise. And we will be in no way ashamed at passing the torch over to Venture. Well done indeed. My most sincere congratulations to Takashi and indeed all of the Interceptor gang in Venture. It was a thrill to finish at the same time as you, Takashi, in this past race I'm sure the party after Race 10 will be quite something to behold.
Congratulations from the Dragonstar Racing Team.

Special congradulations to Kayleigh and Takashi for an exciting finish to the interceptor class.
Scuderia Caille's team performace across all classes was exceptional considering some navigational mishaps at the start
Winning two class'es, the assualt frigate and frigate class, getting 3rd place finishes in both frigate and interceptor class and scoring a 6th place finish in the interceptor.
There by solidifying Scuderia's 3rd place podium finish across all team class'es
We very much look forward to welcoming all pod pilots to the final race in our home Sinq Liason

As Dougalar has single-handedly sealed the AF league for herself and her corp, this only leaves the frigate league undecided. Four pilots are in striking distance of victory, but the eventual winner is anyone's guess.
My money's on Venture to pull ahead of Dirtside, though, as they have two out of the four top frigate pilots.

The ISGC has scheduled its final exhibition event of the season:
Date: Sunday, February 17th Time: 20:00 EVE Standard Time Prize: 50mil ISK + Race Fees divided accordingly... 1st - 70% 2nd - 20% 3rd - 10%
Race Fee: 5 million ISK Region: Genesis
Details: Pilots will be competing against one another in Faction Frigates only. The course will consist of ten waypoints, all of which will be visible at the starting point. At the start of the race, the organizer will give the password for the first waypoint. Once accessed, the pilot will take the bookmark and proceed to the location marked and open the container. The pilot will then drop their bookmark into the container, memorize the password for the second waypoint, and return to the second waypoint. This process will repeat until the pilot reaches the final waypoint where they will be directed to the finish line (a station). A diagram has been created to help describe how this works.
Racers should arrive in the channel Racing League one hour in advance for the location of the starting position. Roughly thirty minutes before the race information will be gathered by the participants. If you would like to recieve reminder mails of upcoming races, simply join mailing list ISGC RACING.

"...exceptional potential..." Looooool! These are very kind words which might encourage me to participate again. Obviously it can only get better for me!
I lost a lot of time between Arraron and Murethand when I took the safe route (8 jumps) instead of the short route (4 jumps) due to a wrong autopilot setting not noticing my mistake early enough. Around a stupid minute I was thinking about the question and experimenting how to warp to a star: I searched in the top-left menu for the destination and even started to try to configure my overview to make the star visible there before I simply clicked on the star in space.
Even at the first waypoint in Chantrousse it didn't look really good for me: a huge heap of ships was already at the secure container when I arrived. I don't know where I lost time in this first stage: Undocking? Entering the destination? Aligning? Warping? Jumping? Lag at the gates? Bad setup? Bad skills? Must find it out! Another reason to take part again the next time, if I have time!
It was fun nevertheless!

Both Lucas and me were kinda lazy this season, and therefore Scuderia Caille will not be taking the frigate championships, but we will do our best to have at least the frigate champion after the last race :)
All in all, this season we have proved to be able to keep pace with the top teams, and are looking forward to the next season when we will try a more professional approach, hehe. Also, congratulations go to Kazuo for a well deserved first place in the faction friggy race last Sunday. I just loved seeing a Daredevil get the first place so thank you!

ISGC Racing League EXHIBITION: Faction Frigates SPONSORED BY The Guristas Associates - For Freedom & Profit | Eve Fiction - Get Creative | Hedonistic Imperative | Dragonstar | Venture Racing Team | House of Marbles | Lutin Group | Eve University
OVERVIEW The final exhibition event of the season pitted racers against one another in faction frigates, slightly improved frigates upgraded by the major empires and criminal elements. Generally awarded to capsuleers for their outstanding service, these rare beauties made a fine impression on the field this Sunday in an impressive arrangement of Cartel, Sansha, Republic Fleet, and even Caldari Navy models. Pilots were competing for over one hundred and fifteen million ISK that evening, partially thanks to Kendar Zek who added an additional twenty-five million to the pot, but only the top three would see any of it.
RACE TRACK Start: Madomi V - Moon 6 - Ministry of War Information Center 1 Keseya - Star 1.5 Sigga IV - Ice Field 1 2 Keseya - Star 2.5 Toon VIII - Asteroid Belt 12 3 Keseya - Star 3.5 Dom-Aphis - Star 4 Keseya - Star 4.5 Kobam VIII - Moon 17 5 Keseya - Star 5.5 Gonditsa VII - Asteroid Belt 10 6 Keseya - Star 6.5 Girani-fa - Aydoteaux Stargate 7 Keseya - Star 7.5 Sibe VII - Asteroid Belt 1 8 Keseya - Star 8.5 Keri X - Asteroid Belt 1 9 Keseya - Star 9.5 New Eden - Planet I 10 Keseya - Star End: Madomi V - Moon 6 - Ministry of War Information Center
(raw image and data available)
This evening's exhibition event took place in the Genesis region, as voted upon from public polling conducted earlier in the week. Deviating from the standard format, racers were required to travel to midpoints for passwords while the main containers with the locations were all centered in one location.
RESULTS 1. Kazuo Ishiguro - Daredevil (2:00:39) 2. Kayleigh Jamieson - Firetail (2:02:35) 3. Thulla Icin - Firetail (2:05:30) 4. Dougalar - Dramiel (2:07:27) 5. Quintrala - Daredevil (2:08:28) 6. Irongut - Dramiel (2:18:34) 7. Darina Rea - Succubus (2:19:42) 8. Dhaikin Lharoud - Hookbill (2:24:04)
An impressive number of pilots came out to compete in Sunday's event, and almost all were season regulars. One rookie racer, Dhaikin Lharoud, raised eyebrows early with her aggressive claim to last place fielding a Hookbill. Although the situation seemed grim at first, her placement ahead of Darina Rea for most of the event evaporated and destiny bowed to her wishes. To great surprise by many, Kazuo Ishiguro claimed first place finishing nearly two minutes ahead of speed veterans Kayleigh Jamieson, Thulla Icin, and Quintrala in his Cartel-brand Daredevil. Ms. Jamieson and Ms. Icin both took to the vaccuum in crowd favored Firetails.
REWARDS 80,500,000 ISK Kazuo Ishiguro (1st Place) 23,000,000 ISK Kayleigh Jamieson (2nd Place) 11,500,000 ISK Thulla Icin (3rd Place)
Special thanks to both racers and all the audience who came out to support the event. Stay tuned for details on the League's final race of the season this Saturday as we head out to sunny Sinq Laison!

When I interviewed Ishiguro for the ISGC, I asked him about his reputation for finishing somewhat more slowly than many other pilots.
It seems that he has shown that reputation to be not entirely correct, having just beaten some of the finest pilots the League has, and by a very handy margin.
Congradulations to him and the rest of the racers.
Also, for the next time there is a faction ship race, 25M to the highest placing pilot flying an Amarr ship, provided they finish among the first half, and 10M to any other pilot flying an Amarr ship that likewise finishes among the first half. I will pay the race fees, up to 5M ISK, for anyone that wishes to compete in an Amarr ship, as well.
Though as my funds are not limitless, this offer is only good for the first five pilots that register, and all must not be known to be opposed to the Empire, must not be terrorists, must not be outlaws, and must generally be judged of good character to represent the Empire. ________________________________ This is not a signature. |

Welcome everyone, to the most wretched hive of slackers and dropouts! Sunny Sinq, home to the University of Caille.
Our home.
Please go and enjoy the region while you are here, there are so many nice things to see! Shopping in upscale Dodixie -because Jita is so 109- the vineyards at Grinacanne and Auvergne, the chef schools of Jel and of course the Daredevil's Lounge in Crielere. Just be careful and make sure you do not get podded by the many bums that also live in lowsec, but beautiful Sinq.
So welcome, enjoy, look forward to an exciting final race and the season's end party afterwards!

When interviewed in the lobby of the "Daredevil's Lounge" about the final race of the season, Mr. Siddhe, obviously under influence of more spirits and boosters than thought possible for an Intaki, had this to say:

Be sho to read up on upcoming sheashon reportsh from Gyra and them reporter peoplesh... Anywaysh, I gotta be off, work in the morning, darnit...
Saying that, Lief stumbled out of the lobby and caused 3,4 million ISK of damage while undocking after he crashed into an incoming freighter and bouncing off into station walls. --- Beneath all of our differences there's a single bond between every living Gallentean that makes us hard as diamond: a love of freedom. |

OVERVIEW The final race of the season took place last Sunday in the Sinq Laison region, a return from the third race that was aborted due to technical issues. While two-thirds of the League standings have already been decided, the frigate class remained contested between Dirtside and Venture Racing Team, which would ultimately turn explosive in what many have described as the climax of the season.
RACE TRACK Start:Auberulle VIII - Moon 1 - Egonics Inc. Development Studio 1.Olettiers V - Moon 1 2.Rancer - Star 3.Miroitem IX - Moon 3 4.Lamadent II - Ice Field 1 5.Otou VI - Asteroid Belt 20 6.Rorsins - Planet IV 7.Thelan V - Ice Field 1 8.Crielere III - Asteroid Belt 1 9.Ambeke III - Asteroid Belt 1 10.Faurent - Planet V 11.Ignoitton - Star 12.Carrou VII - Ice Field 1 13.Bamiette VIII - Asteroid Belt 3 14.Artisine V - Moon 1 15.Olettiers VII - Asteroid Belt 4 End:Unel IX - Chemal Tech Factory (raw image and data available)
The track from the original event on the third race was re-used for the final race, with the containers updated and filled. The main hurdle was Rancer, one of the most heavily camped low security systems in the known cluster, which proved to be fatal for more than a few pilots. The Serpentis Corporation was also quite active in the area proving to be an obstacle for some racers.

In one of the single most bloody encounters the entire season, Rancer has claimed more pods and ships of racers than all the previous races combined. A gatecamp with smartbombs and fast locking sensors claimed a majority of the victims, where just less than half of the frigate pilots bowed out of the race prematurely. Others, such as Lucas Avignon, who reportedly shrugged off half a billion in personal losses, continued to race until the very end.
What wasnÆt apparent until near the end of the event was the battle that ensued between Dirtside and Venture Racing Team. Dirtside pilots reportedly began scrambling and attacking VRT racers, whereby fighting ensued across the track as casualties mounted, adding to an already chaotic event. However, despite the losses, it was clear that DirtsideÆs move against Venture ended unfavorably, as Thulla Icin retained the lead and finished ahead of Dirtside in second place. Lief Siddhe managed to squeeze ahead of her in the confusion, in what would be ScuderiaÆs finest races of the season with wins in both frigate and interceptor classes.

A surprising turn of events for the interceptor class, the top three contenders nearly reversed their usual finishing order, with the indomitable Quintrala finishing in first, Dragonstar Racing TeamÆs Kayleigh Jamieson in second, and Takashi Kurosawa in third place. Despite the brutality of the event, Elsebeth Rhiannon remained in high spirits as she traversed gatecamps and POSes with a carefree attitude, sometimes goading her less than adventurous adversaries who expressed their displeasure with Rancer. Team Khanid was one such group that met an unfortunate fate, with unconfirmed reports of their entire team destroyed.

ASSAULT FRIGATES 1. Jude Kopenhagen û Jaguar (1:04:36) DNF Prime [Team Khanid] û Jaguar (n/a)
The assault frigate class was especially light for the final event. Newcomer but no stranger to the League, Jude Kopenhagen stepped forward in his Jaguar to find himself competing solo for a majority of the event, as Prime of Team Khanid dropped out early in fear of the curse of Rancer. It seems his concerns were well founded, as the remainder of his team was lost. Congratulations to Mr. Kopenhagen for surviving such a tumultuous event.

Low security systems might add a little risk and spice things up, but going through Rancer (twice) goes too far.
Suffice to say this pilot won't be using the latest high-tech, fine tuned technology next season and won't be surprised if others are discouraged similarly. If that makes the races less exciting, then so be it, but it is brought about by the somewhat recklessness of the organisers in this case

Part of the challenge of these events is determining what sort of equipment to use, based on the risk factors at the start of the race. I used a Gistii A-Type 1MN MWD on my escort vessel, which was stupid, considering the region.
If the sport were simply about who could fit the most expensive modules and rigs, it would quickly become a very elitist league with very few participants. Not to mention, there are pilots who have proven time and again that individual skill trumps fancy gear, which means the high-end fittings are a nice advantage, but they aren't necessary.

I raced most of this season using advanced tech 1 modules, and only recently did I acquire any tech 2 modules or rigs.
Still I managed to finish fourth in season, and had great fun doing it.
The final race was truly a destruction derby: but as with any race, you need to setup your ship accordingly to what you expect. I don't have much to think about since I always fly the same setup that I find a perfect balance between speed, maneuverability and protection, and you can usually see that ships with less protection were the ones that were destroyed this race.
Never fly what ou can't lose, they say.
In any case, I would like to congratulate Team Venture and M8S, as well as every other racer who participated this season and especially Gyra Rho for making the racing league what it is today.
Kendar, I am currently tied with lots of work, but I will surely come for the Venture party. You know me, hehe.

What a race, and what a season!
First, I'd like to thank all of our competitors for making season 4 a great and extremely challenging season for Venture Racing. In particular, from a personal point of view, I'd like to think Kayleigh and Quintrala for always keeping me on the edge, not ever giving me a moments rest. The difference in points on the leaderboard does not represent the small margins by which I managed to secure the championship.
Second, I'd like to thank all of the Venture racers for putting on a spectacular effort, clearly illustrated by the fact that we managed to secure the team championship in two out of three classes. Kendar, in particular, deserves applause for making VRT the team that it is today.
Third and last, but certainly not least, I want to thank Gyra, for making the League a reality. Organizing these races is surely a lot of hard work; know that it is greatly appreciated!
Takashi.

The climax of a great season with a truely great and enjoyable race. I wish I'd seen more of season 4 but unfortunately personal issues caused me to miss most of it. Congratulations to Tak, Thulla, Kendar and all the pilots of VRT on your trophies. I will try to make it to the celebrations but unfortunately more personal issues will probably prevent me attending.
I'd like to wish a special thanks and congratulations to my team mate Dougalar, twice champion of the AF class. Often racing without any team mates at all she showed that even in the face of the mighty VRT Collective the smallest team in the league can still win a trophy. I hope you will be returning for season 5 and would be honoured to fly with you any time, any where.

If you don't have the balls that's your problem not the ISGC's. I was racing this week with two active Empire wars, the previous week during the faction frig race it was four or five. My enemies could have dropped on me at any point even in high sec. Did I refuse to race? Did I race a cheaper setup than usual? No, I was still there with a ship and implants worth over half a billion. With skill and courage any racer should be able to avoid being caught by gate camps.

Usually I'd agree, but Rancer is a special case imo. Is like jumping off a cliff and hoping the drop isn't too far, not really very clever nor skilled
Anyway, that aside I did enjoy the few races I took part in at the end of the season. Got some ideas as well how to improve without fancy mods and the like so will have to see how things go next season.
Also would like to re-iterate my offer to the ISGC about holding a race in Proivdence (0.0 region), which I'm sure would be a fantastic opportunity to show off the work that is being done in the region atm

On behalf of the Interstellar Gaming Consortium, it is with great pleasure to announce the champions of the fourth season of the ISGC:Racing League.
This season has been by far the most successful in the history of the League. With the implementation of custom teams, racers have formed their own units and are introducing the next generation of speed demons to the art of interstellar racing. With eleven teams and sixty pilots competing in fourteen events for over 1.3 billion ISK and prizes, the stakes were never higher for fortune and glory. Plenty of twists, turns, and surprising revelations from the racing community have made this experience memorable with the hope for many more to come as the League speeds on.
The following champions are to be commended for their skill, bravery, and tenacity during the fourth season of the League:
Thulla Icin INDIVIDUAL FRIGATE CHAMPION [Venture Racing Team] (124 pts)
HONORABLE MENTION Lucas Avignon [Scuderia Caille] (122 pts) Jasen Nightwing [Venture Racing Team] (116 pts)
Takashi Kurosawa INDIVIDUAL INTERCEPTOR CHAMPION [Venture Racing Team] (217 pts)
HONORABLE MENTION Kayleigh Jamieson [Dragonstar Racing Team] (188 pts) Quintrala [Scuderia Caille] (168 pts)
Dougalar INDIVIDUAL ASSAULT FRIGATE CHAMPION [Venture Racing Team] (159 pts)
HONORABLE MENTION Bastien Lazare [Scuderia Caille] (108 pts) Zelseus [Dirtside] (104 pts)
And now, the teams who earned the championship titles:
Venture Racing Team FRIGATE TEAM CHAMPIONS (199 pts)
HONORABLE MENTION Dirtside (187 pts) Scuderia Caille (165 pts)
Venture Racing Team INTERCEPTOR TEAM CHAMPIONS (221 pts)

M8S Racing Team ASSAULT FRIGATE TEAM CHAMPIONS (159 pts)
HONORABLE MENTION Dirtside (132 pts) Scuderia Caille (108 pts)
Congratulations to all of this season's winners. Especially Kazuo, who after many seasons finally managed to rid himself of a certain Navy Caracal.
On behalf of the Interstellar Gaming Consortium, I would like to thank our sponsors and all those pilots who participated in this season and helped shape the event to be as successful as it was. You all are what make these races so wonderful. We look forward to seeing you all next season along with many new faces in making the Racing League even better than the last.

Low security systems might add a little risk and spice things up, but going through Rancer (twice) goes too far...
As an unexperienced racer - Sinq Laison was my second race - I expected before the race that the route will never go through such a deadly place. So I was a little bit shocked when I read "Rancer Star" on a bookmark and considered for a moment to quit the race immediately remembering my early days when I got podded in a T1-frigate in Rancer losing a +3 implant set (they were expensive in those days and were a significant part of my assets).
But then I thought that my skills have improved, I have now warp-to-zero and a faster and more agile interceptor. So I decided quickly to take the risk also taking into account that ship and fittings weren't probably more worth than 50 Mil ISK. (With a value of half a billion or more my decision wouldn't have been the same, I think.)
The second crossing through Rancer I survived luckily with 10% armor.
It was funny to see that the whole racing field caused a little astonishment and confusion to the inhabitants of Rancer who perhaps never saw before a fearless race crossings their heavy gatecamps, as the following short conversion (remembered out of my head) in the local channel might prove:
Pirate/Antipirat?> May I ask you what you are doing here? Pirate/Antipirat?> I am talking to the frig/inties group. Pirate/Antipirat?> For your own safety I would suggest you not to fly and pirate around here! Racer> Racing. Pirate/Antipirat?> RACING ???
I don't want to forget to thank Gyra for the lot of work she spended to organize the race for such an affordable entry fee!
