Not anything new, just doesn't get the same level of press coverage in the west, western media always tends to brush addition issues under the carpet or make fun of it but it is real in terms of internet and gaming, hence why the Amsterdam clinc that is treating gaming addiction is doing business Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Some people dont know when to stop playing, its true. Whilst China sees it as a national problem (thereby involving govermental controls and "cra.ckdowns", others see it for what it is, an addiction to some.
Seriously, though, no biggie unless it affects Serenity right? -

China is a communist state. Whatever feel-good media pretense they have set up for everyone to see is just a veil to keep prying international eyes from delving too deep in "State" business.
There are elements of truth in their actions, but that is what allows them to get away with such large scale censorship, because they CAN say that 'this' and 'that' could happen, which it can, but not on the scale they claim it is occurring.
The internet = liberty Liberty = possible dissent Dissent = Bad for communism.

China isn't a communist country anymore. It's one of the fastest developing capitalist countries on the planet. Old ideas about China and communism are just out dated retoric. They still have a fairly strict government and try to portray a certain appearance to the world media but as the report says it's rarely enforced and loosly regulated. The American economy is collapsing, i wouldn't be surprised if China became the next superpower. What was the question? :/

We all have laws that dictate our behaviour for some greater good. We might not understand China, but I'm sure that for this sort of thing we're no different. A lack of space in China means cafes will be the order of the day, and if you've played a korean mmo you probably have some idea of the harsh grind. Add in stupid teens, cafes probably not serving good food etc and you're gonna end up with people doing themselves all sorts of damage (kidney etc) while they play. I'd never accept this kind of micro-management in my life once I recognised it, but I can understand why it is there.

Congrats you have just bought into the image they want everyone to see. Of course if you read deeper into the subject (if you can find info that is. National Geographic did a nice article on the REAL china) you would see that the info they give out is selective at best. As for a collapsing US economy...naysayers have been saying (or rather hoping) this for what, 6 years now? Yet the stock market is higher than ever, earnings are up, unemployment is the lowest it has been in years, and spending is on the rise despite killer gas prices. Compared with china and their poisonous products and shaky product record (and executions of course), and I would say the image you believe china to be is just as much propaganda as it is fact.
All this is pretty in line with a communist nation despite capitalist pretenses.

Hmm not sure what world you are referring to but China is still a red state and no the US economy is not collapsing. I would wager India as the next superpower rather then China. China if anything is marching to a civil war as its youth are seeing for themselves what the rest of the world is like...
If you dont believe me you should look it up.
You can not be a superpower if your birthrate is low. You will also be subject to a civil strife if you have an imbalance in you population. Simply put if a guy cant get laid or play on a computer what do you think he is gonna do?????
