Posted - 2007.09.08 20:34:00 - [1] I have noticed that they seem to smak burn eden for using there setup when many others using the same have lost time after time i think its about time that they give credit where credit is due and quit the s**t talk. 1 caracal would not of made any diffrence with 5 ships remaining.

Often successful setups and bringing entertaining fights do not go hand in hand. That has nothing to do with the teams, and its understandable they rather make sure they win than making sure they entertain. I find bobs setup just as boring, and im really looking forward to both teams changing their setups for the knockout rounds. P.S. BE manage the caracal heavy setup better than any other team, and it really shows. But there is just so much of the tactics hidden for the viewer, all we see are missiles shooting from left to right and less missiles going from right to left indicating their dampening works.

To Agony, gf, and its a shame that the gm's wouldnt stop the fight. I know both teams were screaming in local to wait when the caracal crashed. I am sorry for that.

As for the commentators smacking you, their objective is obviously to see lots of funky explosions for entertainment value, wouldn't put too much stock in it. The only "smack" (and it wasn't really) of BE that I heard was Angel saying, before the fight, something about how she likes Agony and what they stand for, that she has a history with Burn Eden, and then that BE are good pvp pilots but maybe "need to work on their social skills". That was about it.

The vast majority of the audience have no real vested interest in the battles going on. It might be really exciting for the pilot in the fight to zoom around for 5 minutes. For everyone else it is watching paint dry. The commentators say it like it is. And the comment in question is saying "Do something different, it's the same thing over and over" I don't know if you are aware, but it's a tournament, not a suicide/comedy gang. TI/BoB/whatever do what is best and there is zero reason for them to do otherwise. It's like saying, "Oh man Shaq, all this dunking and scoring you are doing is lame, do something different like shooting some three-pointers for god's sake" TI above everyone else were the ones saying how these rules were lame. If you want to claim boring television, you need to blame yourself (oh noes!!!!) and CCP for the rules. God forbid you do something exciting like make a highlights video with cool music in the background like players do with PvP videos.

Wait, wait, wait...Fragm is annoyed at someone smacking? Seriously? Joking aside, you must remember that all the commentators are volunteers. Players with a difference in opinions about the different teams in the tournament. So they joke you around with the damps + missiles + stabs whatever. Partially it's because it's funny, partially it's because you yourself smack everyone as much as possible at every possible occation, and ofcourse you're gonna get something back. If this was a professional sports tournament, where the commentators would be paid, you could expect and require them to be absolutely neutral and unbiased. Here, it's just not gonna work that way. So suck it up, and enjoy the tournament. If you don't wanna hear the commentators commentating, mute the damn thing. Resistance is Fertile.
