Previous Threads: www.eve-marketplace.com - the marketplace A marketing tip from EVE Marketplace.
If you ever get tired of going through the many pages and pages of WTS/WTB orders on these forums, watching the trade channel spam, or scanning the escrow endlessly for the items that you want, then give EVE Marketplace a try. It's free and there's nothing to lose.
Even though the Marketplace won't be able to do the transaction for you, it's definately a place to start. With automatic email notifications, you can be alerted instantly of new buy orders. You can even use the site to place buy orders on items that you want from work. While it is mostly unknown how many purchases are made as a result of using the site, the Marketplace can provide a plethora of testimonials from happy users. For those who like to see numbers, we have some statistics on the index page.
We understand that the site doesn't really help those with hundreds of items to sell, so we are currently researching and developing an answer to this. The site will never be a finished product and will always be under development. To make the site more useful, we're always open to suggestions.
Note: this site is powered by data fed in by the EVE Online: The Second Genesis game browser. In order to enable out-of-game(OOG) login abilities, you will need to set a OOG code in the ingame site first. To prevent against any unauthorized access (whether by forged headers or a renegade sibling or friend), it is recommended that you set a locking key. To access the ingame site, click on the Browser button on the left-hand navigation bar then type in: www.eve-marketplace.com
For those who were having problems accessing the site ingame, we suggest you try the site again. We recently modified our site to cope with long distance transmission problems for the EVE IGB by various performance enhancing changes. Most of the problems experienced on the ingame site were by those who were very far away from the server (located in Texas, US).
Good luck and enjoy.

Edited by: Desper on 14/02/2004 22:05:27 Update: you can now use the site to place buy orders on items without even logging in or using the ingame browser.
Ingunn AmarY, I'll have the old signature design also available soon. It's just that this new one matches these forums better.

Yea, if you want to use the site out of game, then you will have to set an OOG Access Code on the in-game version of the site.

Perhaps somewhere on the main page there could be an advisory note reminding those wishing to trade in-game, after viewing on EMP, that in order to save 100 ISK per eve-mail or conversation invitation (of which there might be many) - a simple right click on a character's picture, from a people & places search, followed by selecting 'add to addressbook' works wonders.
Also ... setting up an Escrow costs 850 ISK.

Edited by: jakemn13 on 31/03/2004 01:25:16 Very, very nice... I like how the whole marketplace system is set up. It does make a good getaway from the crowded trade chat rooms and forums...
I'm not a very successful player in EVE, mainly because I haven't been trading with other people as much as I should be. I've been in particularly bad shape recently, as I just lost a Thorax to a bunch of Serpentis rats while watching a gang member kill another player. Since then, I have been using my Gallente Shuttle and Maulus to get around, and, receiving about 3 mil in compensations for the loss of my vessel, have bought a Kestrel. I'm now training Caldari Frigate to lvl 3, and then plan to train Missile Launcher Operation, Standard Missiles, FoF Missiles, Cruise Missiles, and possibly the Heavy Missiles skills.
Overall, I have been in need of a better way to trade with other EVE Online players, and I believe this could be it.

Hey Desp,
just a quick note about the sell orders resetting to 0 on Eve-Marketplace. Wondered if this was just to avoid stale orders clogging up your system. I've only got a limited set of sales, but always restock them, and having to log in ever few weeks or so to make sure they've not reset is a bit bothering.
I'm not complaining about having to do it, as I understand the reasoning behind it, but can you not setup an e-mail notification to let the seller know his orders have been reset?

It looks that way. There was no response from it yesterday and today I just get cpanel04.gzo.com appearing in the browser.
This'd be a crying shame if it's down, as I'd use the forum search on a daily basis. Excellent tool.

There was a problem with the server, so it had to be replaced. The downtime was unexpectedly long and there are still problems even after the drive image was restored. I'm working on getting it back up, so it should be online again soon. ----- EVE Marketplace | Forum Search Tool EVE M staff |
