im a noob so let me off for this but were do you get blue prints from, i know you get these from the market and contracts tab in game but my question is were do they get them from? are they floating in space or found on ships? or do you have to be really lucky? just that im wanting a ship that isn't on the market and i don't have 450 mil for a blueprint off the contracts tab!

I am not too sure but i will try to answer.
you can get T1 Blueprints from Market. You can get some BluePrints from rats. You can do invention and research T2 Blueprints (i am not sure some one can confirm this pls. :)
You can get Blueprints from contracts other players placed. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness |

Blueprints (originals / copies) come from any of the following places: 1: "Seeded" by NPCs (originals only, sold on the market) 2: Mission rewards 3: The LP store 4: Dropped occasionally in missions (I think) 5: Copies of existing (original) Blueprints 6: Invention (Creates a Tech 2 Copy from a Tech 1 Copy) 7: Now closed (replaced by invention), the Tech 2 (original) Blueprint Lottery.

Tech I BPOs originate from NPC sales on the market, Tech II BPCs are obtained through invention or from copying an existing Tech II BPO (all of which are already in the hands of other players), Faction BPCs (no BPOs) come from Mission Offers or Deadspace Complexes, Cosmos or "Storyline" BPCs come from missions in Cosmos Constellations.

Just to confirm the stuff above.
Invention lets you turn a T1 blueprint copy into it's T2 equivalent - if you have the skills and equipment required and if you are lucky! It's a chance based process and currently I'm getting about 1 in 4 succeeding. Friends report even lower success rates.
Some blueprints are available in the new Loyalty Point stores too.
If the blueprints in Contracts are 450M a pop, chances are they are difficult or expensive to acquire in the first place - or both!
