Vagabond? Curse? Dominix?
What is the best solo ship in EVE and why? I'd like to know what others think.
Personally I like the Vagabond just because speed is an unmissable feature when soloing. Sure you can solo in bigger ships and some of them excel at it, but if you jump into a bubble camp in a Dominix you are pretty much screwed.
Ok lets hear your opinions.

I'd probably go for a faction fitted Vindicator/Navy Mega solo ... everyone and their dog would bring the fight to you, so no worry about getting action and you can defend yourself rather nicely

I wouldnt say Vagabond, doesnt really have much DPS, struggles with battlecruisers upwards, even in optimal with is almost always death for the vaga.
Personally Eos is my choice.

I cant think of any uber solo pwn ships anymore that can kill everyone and everything. maybe its finnaly starting to become balanced? :)
Vaga is a good solo ship tho, (you can tell by its name), and Eos is nice and versatile. But really it comes down to how you like to fight.
I like running in whit head first and guns blazing into fights, so I pick the Geddon or the Harby for solo work.

Its simple; Any Gallente ship = I win/Braindead/Very Easy mode. For a little bit more of a challenge, fly Minmatar = Easy mode. If your a man, fly Caldari and/or Amarr... Its EVE on Hard mode... -----====-----

Velators are overpowered. 2 light T2 drones give them greater DPS by far than any other rookie ship. My research services Spreadsheets: Top speed calculation - Halo Implant stats |

Curse for lvl1 and lvl2. Drake for lvl3. Raven for lvl4. No doubt. Not sure about lvl5 missions, many dont even let you fly a moros.
For PvP you should really fly in gangs, no point in going solo. Everyone else have friends.

All depends on the situation, cant say an overall best pvp ship, as all the top contenders have their weaknesses in certain situations.

Not flown a Vaga so can't say. From coming up against them though they certainly seem extremely powerful and fun and will train for one once i got command ships.
Other than that the Ishtar can be good if setup right.
To solo you need to be quick basically, so a Vaga or Nanotar gives you the opportunity to turn and run if lots of backup arrives. --------------------------------------
Lets face it, people that use the word 'noob' are blatantly either 12 or with more friends on the internet than in real life! |

Vaga doesn't fight in optimal, vaga fights in falloff, and if you think a good vaga pilot has problems engaging bc's or bs's ur in for a surprise.
So far only bc i had problems with is the Drake or tier III bs, and even those must be in the hands of skilled players cuz otherwise i just remembered some maelstrom that was in danger of going down in a blaze of glory. _______________________ Dionisius - "In Vino Veritas"... did someone say wine? |

Vagabond was good before heat.
Now you just heat the web for 2 cycles MWD straight at it, dead Vaga.
Its only good for raping people in NPC fittings. Nice for belt hunting Ravens in Syndicate, thats about it.

For me the best solo ship in EVE atm is an inty or a dictor that can web. You need to be fast enough to dodge the blob. You will find the most fights at gates so you need a web to stop the re-approach. I score plenty of killmails with my ranis when I am out solo hunting just picking off scouts for TeH Bl0B(tm).
Also the rapier looks hella good at this but I do not fly one myself to back that claim up D:

Sad but true. - Michael Schumacher won many a formula one race. Alot of the time he didn't win because he had a better car...he won because HE WAS A BETTER DRIVER and because he used SUPERIOR TACTICS. |

EoS I'd say its the EoS too - its a faster Domi with a better tank.
It is not a Vegabond however, while those ships are fun, I agree that they are better for killing newer players or people who freeze up in combat more then the seasoned combat pilot. The truth is, the best 'solo' ships are Gallente, but in gangs, all the races seem to be in good/decent balance.

EOS is just slow as a brick...
i would have to say Sleipnir... since nano mach is "kinda" nerfed... and vagabond lacks some dps sometimes..
if you go with a dual extender sleipnir.. you dont have to rely on cap boosters etc.. that other pwnmobiles need

I like my Curse and Pilgrim for what they are, theyre both good ships.
I prefer the Amarr cruisers for a bit of fun!
Arbitrator = Cheap + T1 Fittings = Sexy cruiser, meant to be thrown around. Maller + plate + AC's = PWN with Amarr Cruiser 5
Why go expensive, when a maller/arb will do just the same.

The only 'brain-dead' ships in the gallente line-up were the nos-domi and nos-myrmidon, they allowed ridiculous effectiveness for minimum skill investment.
Blasterboats on the other hand are a different kettle of fish.
