Thats kind of what i depend on - high volume
I've been thinking of getting a passive drake or myrmidon for all of this eventually - for small expensive loads. We'll see. Right now my crane warps out pretty quick - not enough time for the Domi to lock even.

just relocate to the Sing Laison region: it has 3 trading hubs: Aunia, Auvergne and dodixe. between them you will get near the same volumes as Jita. And gallente government rapes high sec gankers for a living.... dontcha know the caldari state is employing the goons as high sec privateers!!??!?!? When I'm targetted I press Ctrl Space and warp away then I take the Dominix and take several trips to make it through the blockade.

If you were targeted, you were not at risk... smart gankers (at least those smart enough to succeed while blowing your ship) use "passive" targeting.
The only solution that works 100% of the time is carrying less than the ganker will lose. This works afk (so being afk isn't a concern), and is 100% safe, until you angered someone or were mistook for a macro user.
WTZ is only useful if you need to travel faster or if your cargo is worth enough money for the ship to be blown. Ah, and also, fitting lots of t2 or named hardeners and other modules is generally a bad idea, since it adds to the cargo value of your ship... it's better to stick with cheap t1 stuff to harden the transport.

I know a 100% fool proof way to avoid this, that doesn't require you to tone down the loot you are transporting.
I'm however not going to share it and just use it myself as it would be unfair to my alliance's brothers and sisters that make a tidy profit from your inability to see the solution ;-0 --

Use the appropriate ship and you won't get ganked.
For me its
Freighter = high volume low value goods - total load value < 1bill Occuator = Med Volume and medium value goods - total load value < 2bill Eos = Low volume high value stuff, anything > 2bill
Fitting wise, pimp the Eos with t2 armour mods, fill mids with sheild extenders, rigs trimark armour. make for one tough beast.
Occuator, sheild extenders in mids, cargo expanders in lows and trimark armour rigs.
Finally as others have said use a scout and never afk.

How would they know I carry stuff of value if they dont target and cargo scan? If you are attacked by passive targetting then they know your habits and your trade routes, I'd suggest using Courriers then. Collateral 50% above estimated value, pay 3% of collateral, if the hauler gets ganked you make money.

I may have the name wrong, but some modules enable you to target you and scan you without ever triggering the "yellow / red" blinking associated with regular targeting. Some claim that those modules still make some kind of sound that can be heard, but it can be heard by anyone in the grid, therefore limiting its usefulness greatly.
I'm at work now and do not have the time to check the correct name, and therefore labelled those modules passive targeters. However, the modules does exist.
Therefore, they do not need to know where you are, just staying at a chokepoint will let them check enough targets.

My advice would to not have all your Hulks, especially that nice faction-fit one, and other barges within 2 km of each other. It makes a very tempting target for the smartbombs...

Only idiots Suicide Gank in Jita. The risk of your hard earned loot getting stolen is way too high.
And put higher bounties on those who gank you.

I'm actually torn myself between what i would choose in this situation. Sure, the blockade runner will let you slip trough a gatecamp easier and would be the best choice in low sec, but in high sec, wouldn't it be better to tank out a deep space transport and discourage/outlast the gankers due to it's increased tank? |
