Does anyone know how to change the resolution of eve so that I can run it in a window, at a resolution other than at normal screen sises.
I want to be able to have it full screen, but with room for my windows bar along the bottom.

Try a size like 1240x 1024 or whatever it is on the o/s, and then 1240x 960 or whatever it is for the eve window.
It should fit. ----------------------------

I think he wanted to know how to change it into a costume resolution. Go to your prefs.ini, located in: C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\settings
Open it, and change these two lines: desktopHeight=[hight goes here] desktopWidth=[width goes here]
In the dimensions mentioned before. Start eve, and you should be all set :)

I believe the new location if you're running Vista is C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\CCP. I may be wrong but I'll double-check once I'm back home.

Unfortunatly eve seems to ignore the settings in the prefs.ini
desktopHeight=960 desktopPrimary=0 desktopSetup=1 desktopWidth=1680
Changing these around doesnt seem to make a difference as to how big eve is.

Off the top of my head, there are some windowHeight/windowWidth (or something similar) settings in that file too, a little further down.

Having no success with windowHeight or windowheight (the setting wasnt in there to start with, so guessing its name is a tricky one, if it is even there.

Hmm I can't seem to find it in my prefs.ini either. You could try setting EVE to windowed but at the same resolution as your desktop... and if you run EVEMon, set it to "relocate windowed EVE to fit a monitor", so it looks like fullscreen but it's windowed.. then you can just hit the WinKey on your keyboard to bring up the taskbar as you need it.

You can only change to a res that your video card supports.
I run 1280x960 in windowed on 1280x1024 which fits on the screen but leaves me the task bar available for flipping between other stuff.
nVidia's drivers support 1280x960 fine in XP, but in Vista the 1280x960 res isn't available, so I can't run EVE as I want in Vista.

You can customise whatever resolution you want in the nvidia control panel, once it's seen as an option for your display card, EVE sees it as an option ingame. Can be anything you like (eg I've set 1920x1080, or 1920x1180 etc to leave room for the taskbar
