Edited by: DubanFP on 23/08/2007 01:22:10 If you've read the Dev Blog recently you should know that the Phoenix is getting a much needed extra 50 CPU. I know how i want it setup, i just need a bit of guidance as to what to faction fit & where to drop the faction for to cheapen things up & make use of the extra 50 CPU.
Hi-slots 3x citadels 1x siege mod
Mid-slots 1x Kin/thermal/EM shield hardener 2x Invuln field 1x Capital shield rep 1x Boost amp
Low-slots 2x BCU II 3x PDU
The capital shield boost, citadels, and siege mod are a given. But if I planned using about 500 mil for the rest of the modules "opposed to 1 billion before" where would it be best put. I'm thinking DB PDUs, but after that I'm not sure. Or do you think I would be better off just using the extra 500 mil anyways to keep a full Dread Guristas/Caldari Navy fit. ___________

Edited by: Mary Makepeace on 23/08/2007 09:12:57 domination or republic fleet BCUs have the same stats as T2 but much less CPU and are quite affordable at about 30 mil.
faction shield hardeners also are quite affordable and much less cpu. between the two areas you should be able squeeze in the fit. does the cpu reduction implant for missile launchers work on citadels?

Although i havn't tested it in practice, implants and stuff tend not to work on capital modules. Anyways you don't seem to get it. They're giving the phoenix 50 more CPU soon. I'm thinking about dropping some of the more expensive faction loot "particularly the DG/CN invuln fields" so i can have a cheaper setup that makes use of the additional CPU.
Originally i planned on fitting full Dread Guiristas on the hardeners "37.5% resists for the invulns". but the invulns costs 350-400 mil a piece. But i'm not sure how it'll all fit together yet. Or would i be better spending the extra money for the good resists. ___________

A permaboosting shield power relay setup is much more reliable when POS sieging with a large fleet.
booster, 2x boost amp, em/kin/the hardeners, dg invu field
5x cap power relay (true sansha ones are -25% recharge and very cheap)

Hmm i could see how this could be usefull in high-lag situations, but what about under nos/energy nuets? Wouldn't the extra max-cap from PDUs then come in handy? ___________

No. The sick extra recharge from relays is much much better.

I think maybe he doesn't know about CPR's effect "or lack thereof" on Capital Shield Boosters. And is saying My setup is "The correct dread?".
Or maybe that I need to use a different dread because phoenix isn't the right one for the job? Saying that mine is crap research, and yours is just crap "See CPR on capital modules remark". ___________

CPR's do penalize capital boosters but the penalty is stacking penalized hence why you will never lose more than 28-ish% boost, while gaining about three-fold cap recharge and thats really, really worth it.

Basically with a full rack of beta CPRs+1 cap recarger II, you can tank over 9k dps permanently as opposed to over 14k for a few minutes. Good tradeoff, imho.
