CHAOS TERMINATORS
I just got back into 40k. This squad was painted over a span of about 12 years. The far right one in the top row, and the second-from-right in the bottom row are just painted. The rest were done over a decade ago. I must say that I've lost some of my painting skill - my lines aren't as straight as they used to be.

Needs more cowbell... and sufficient lighting. I didnt know people still painted armies. (Little pewter bastards are expensive.)
Looks good though in all seriousness. |

Very nicely painted, unfortunately this wreckage is all that remains of my TT hobby. I gave it up 10 years ago or more and sold off or swapped the painted metal models, all that remains are the battered boxes with the templates in and plastic models. |

Night Lords, yes. They have a lot of terminators too! Alas, the picture didn't come out too well. Here's some older, better quality pix:

Night lords are the creepy fkers that make it a point to stalk someone until they are on the verge of dying purely for terrors sake.
Thousand Sons are the sorcerers.

I did bugs until they went plastic and super easy to paint, then suddenly everyone for a hundred miles had their army... and a bug army, but I was never that serious about it. I think I had only just barely 2K points. |

The only plastics in my army are the berzerkers, and vehicles. Everything else = metal. |

I stopped using my space wolves when they introduced them with the option of riding wolves like pony's.
I still have my intire army though, including my battlefleet gothic heavily modified and partly scratchbuild fleet. (post them tonight)
The fluff is what keeps warhammer 40K interesting for me the game itself just decided to suck to much. I enjoyed writing my own fluff, my spacewolves where a renegade inquistorial experiment of a cross of nigh-lords geneseed (highly resistant to chaos and never turned completly and guerilla warfare specialist/indoctrination ) and Space Wolves (loyal though plagued with wulven syndrome and close combat specialists) - [yellow]English only please. Table tops a mess right now, Vampire zombie Jesus Mephiston that can solo Swarmlords, then you have Dreadknights, deep striking Land Raiders, 18inch charge and lots of other bullcrap.
The balance issues and the way GW have slowly replaced metal units with plastic and increased the price convince me its not worth getting back into TT. I do enjoy painting and collecting a strike force or army though. |

I have my imperial guard army with a space marine contingent along with it. I feel it's virtually complete now. So have begun collecting orks. I live on a military base so don't have room for it normally. Only really get a chance to develop my army when I go home on leave.
I also painted one of those larger scale "inquisitor" models. Will see if I can get a pic of that up soon. Please await an upcoming edit. |

I too have picked 40k back up again, not having played it for about 6-7 years. I have both Black Templars and Tau, but have focused on repainting my Tau for now (my standard of painting back then seems appauling to me now, looking at the models I've dug out).
BT's and Tau are both expected to have their Codexes this year, so we'll see what developments they bring.
In the meantime, I recently took some pictures of some WIP/finished models for friends who didn't know what 40k is.
http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/_Templar/SANY0126.jpg (the main gun is detachable, and I'd obviously not pushed it on fully in this pic) http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/_Templar/SANY0132.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/_Templar/SANY0124.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/_Templar/SANY0130.jpg
This was when I was in the process of re-painting another Crisis suit, whilst playing Eve and talking to mates on TS: http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/_Templar/SANY0135.jpg
Since then I've completed the above Crisis suit my XV15 Stealth Suits. Next plan is to do my 2nd Fire Warrior sqaud (already re-painted but not based, and without pictures) or my Broadsides. |

Hehe, yeah I I did have some screw-top's but they'd dried out (no suprise there :P)
The black-lid one's u can see are the previous flip-style one's....which I much prefer to the current variety which just flop back down forcing you to use your other hand to hold the lid open)

I only have one plasma gun, and one heavy plasma in my entire army. I have lots of meltaguns and flamers though. I could use more lascannons, which is why I'm slowly assembling this:
Predator Annihilator, extra armour
My strategy is to infiltrate a squad of Chaos Chosen carrying an icon in turn 1, right next to the enemy army. The Chosen carry 2 meltas and 2 flamers. By turn 2, assuming my rolls are good, I should be dropping 10 Chaos Terminators (4 bolter/melta, 2 bolter/flamer, 2 heavy flamer) - this lets me blow a hole in the middle of the enemy army, targeting tanks and making sure they're occupied while my Rhinos drive up and get my melee units into skull-taking range.
I haven't played a game yet to figure out how effective this strategy is... soon. |

Holy crap Istvaan, those models are jawdropping! I used to play 40k TT from 13 until 18, had a Imp Guard and Dark Angels army. Now I mainly just play the video games (got all the Dawn of Wars and Space Marine) and read books from the Black Library. For the last 2-3 years I've been reading the Horus Heresy series, and it makes me want to get back into it so much, but its so dang expensive.
