well I've had some ideas, 3 setups I've made and since my limited skills, not that much t2 equipment yet, and some cheap faction mods.
Setup 1 Standard Duo-Rep 7 x Modal Heavy Electron Blasters
1 x Y-T8 Hydro Microwarp 1 x Medium Elec Cap Injector W/800 1 x J5 Prototype Scrambler (So They can't run on approach) 1 x X5 Stasis Webbifier
2 x Domination MAR's 1 x Domination Kinetic Hardener 1 x Domination Thermic Hardener 1 x Domination Explosive Harder
Setup 2 Gank? guessing about 10k armor but not tried before 7 x Modal Heavy Electron Blasters
1 x Medium Elec Cap Injector W/800 1 x J5 Prototype Scrambler (So They can't run on approach) 1 x X5 Stasis Webbifier 1 x Remote Sensor (to reduce target locking)
1 x 1600mm Rolled Tungsten plates 2 x Magnetic Field Stabs 2 x Serpentis Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
Setup 3 Single repair and resistance 7 x Modal Heavy Electron Blasters
1 x Y-T8 Hydro Microwarp 1 x Medium Elec Cap Injector W/800 1 x J5 Prototype Scrambler (So They can't run on approach) 1 x X5 Stasis Webbifier
1 x Domination MAR's 1 x Domination Kinetic Hardener 1 x Domination Thermic Hardener 1 x Domination Explosive Harder 1 x Serpentis Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
What do people think and what would work well/best etc Dont find yourself on the barrel of my blaster.

Your gank setup doesn't gank much? Use at least Ion's and possible 3 damage mods though at least the upgrade will help you with the damage.
Im no way a brute expert but they are by no means horrible. Your medslots look stable. Lowslots depends on flavour ofcourse though I'd check out a damage control.
I would not use that faction stuff though. Unless you virtually pay less than for other stuff I'd use T1/named until you have some first hand experience on kills and losses. Everything adds up - and I would wait with it for at least your 3rd or 4th ship. - I'm a nice guy!!

You can do some lovely things with a Brutix with a rig-boosted power grid.
7x Ion II 10MN MWD II, Warp Disruptor II, Fleeting Web, Med Electro Cap Injector 2x MAR II, DCU II, 2x MFS II 2x Ancillary Current Routers, Anti-Explosive Pump
Double-reppers AND Ions, both bonii fully engaged. Yay.

Your second setup "Gank" wont really work out unless you warp in right on top of someone.
Would take you forever to approach without a afterburner atleast.
I dont like the MWD setups i find it gimps my cap to much, i prefer a T2 afterbuner you can still hit about 500m/s if im not mistaking. Hells
Let me liberate you of your T2 mods. T2 mods are dropping in price, because of invention?? No its because of pirates. |

gank setup realy need's a mwd, blasters with out mwd is going to be a failure.
always use a damage control on gallente ships they have realy big structure and use it for your advantage.
tank 7xpewpew
mwd,web,scram,cap booster
2xmar 2xeanm 1xdmg control
gank(suicidal) 7xpewpew
standard
1xmar 1xdmg ctrl 3xmfs
gank(more liable) 7xpewpew
standard
1xmar 1xdmg control 1xexplosive hardener 2xmfs
and try to get awu 4 and med hybrid t2 soon

with these resistance, i would change a repper for a 800 plate, and if i was in high/lowsec with that setup i would fit 2 x 800 plates

use a 800 plate instead of repper, a repper wont help you a ****, unlesss your fighting a frigate, or something, and i dont assume youre gonna do that in brutix
dont bother arguing with me, cause im allways right. Well at least sometimes.

After getting autocaned (geddit?), I think a dual-rep may be too cap intensive. So how about a resists tank? Still makes use of the rep bonus, but means there's less of the irritating tank micro management. I haven't invested in this yet, but now I have to replace my old one (oops)....
HIGHS: 2x Electron IIs, 5x Ion IIs (Null loaded, Void in cargo)
MIDS: MWD, Booster, Web, Scram
LOWS: MAR II, Active Kin II, Therm II, Exp II, DCU II
RIGS: Kinetic, Thermic and Explosive Pump I
DRONES: Medium ECM Drones
Please critique. I notice barely andybody bothers with high resists on a Brutix, but I don't see why. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to the rep amount bonus than a lot of the HP buffer setups posted in this thread?
Thx in advance, I'd love to fly this ship effectively; it requires more balls than your average bingo game.

Setup 1, Duel-rep Tank Setup:
Eos
Setup 2, Neutron Gank Setup:
Astarte

But seriously, I dont like the idea of mixing T1 crap with faction gear. The gank setup needs neutrons imho, but your on the right lines for tanking. Maybe 2x MAR - 1x EXP hardener - 1x EANM - 1x DCU. Even with medium accomodation reps, and n-type hardeners and an internal forcfield array, you could get a nice tank providing you have your BC skill trained up a bit. If you spend a bit more.... 2x TS/DB MAR 1x TS/DB Exp hardener 1x TS/DB EANM 1x Internal Forcefield Array 2x Armor rep amount rigs......... could be reasonable.
