So I was reading some stuff on the internet and I came across this software from Stardock. It lets you use two computers with one mouse and keyboard.
Link: http://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/
(sorry but I dont know how to make it clicky)
Hope someone finds it useful! Im not a rasist, I got a color Teve! |

Or... you could go with the free Open-Source Alternative: Synergy2
A bit confusing to setup, I'll grant. Works nicely when done, though.

Or you could just use a dual screen pc and run two instances. With a decent graphic card and at least 2gb of RAM it works very well.

Stardock generally has pluses and minuses. I wouldn't recommend their software for someone who wanted good gaming performance.
I'm a Stardock customer and use a wide range of the software that they provide. Some, like WindowBlinds and Object Desktop, is pretty good, though you can usually find freeware equivalents of the same applications in many cases. Other applications they hawk are less impressive though-some are buggy, some are less feature-rich than freeware equivalents, and some are just downright outdated.
Their customer support is patchy, too.
I haven't specifically used Multiplicity, but I'd be cautious shelling out cash for it if you can get somethingsimilar for free elsewhere.

lol
Oh noes, that other guy has a better computer than me, and thus less client lag, this is not fair, ban him!
EDIT: Actually, let me give you a few better examples.
EVEMON: Supported by CCP, lets you know when you need to change a skill. Quickfit: Allows you to fit your ship out-of-game. Those awesome G15 keyboards, which allow you to make key binds
These are all 3rd party programs/tools, and no they aren't ilegal because they aren't interacting with the game directly, ie: they aren't doing things in-game for you, like mining without you being at the computer and stuff like that.

Oh ****. I run eve through this third party program called Windows.
Nobody tell CCP. It's affecting my gameplay (negatively).

I looked at that, but it appeared to only work on x86 windows systems, whereas multiplicity works fine on my Windows XP x64 based systems.

Thanks for posting this link. I'd never heard of this program before, and after taking 5 minutes to set it up I'm amazed at how well it works.

If you have a multi-core machine, as I do, Eve isn't smart enough to use more than 1 core at a time yet. Two clients, with one client on each core, runs flawlessly even under heavy load. Your mileage may vary. Eve, or at least Windows, is smart enough to use core 1 and then core 2 for each respective instance. All you need to do then is alt-tab between them. -- I do not speak for my corp, or my alliance. |
