Basically, reading the latest dev blog really makes me wonder if the Devs are seeing the same game as the rest of us. I am playing a finished game, one that has been out and stable for a long time. While I expect the usual MMO tweaks every now and again, I don't really expect revolution in the existing game mechanics. New stuff being added in, sure - but not total revamps of core systems.
The Nosferatu changes are way to close to a total system revamp for my comfort. Accepting for the moment that changes are even needed, there are a myriad of less disruptive ways to change them. Fitting changes, efficiency changes, stacking penalties, tracking, sig radius and more. So why choose such a radical option? If implemented, what other "problem" system will be next for a total redesign that it didn't need?
Secondly, the Amarrian ship changes bother me - not because I fly them or particularly care...but because it is wasted effort. Why remove & replace existing designs in the game??? It seems logical that for slightly more effort you could for example introduce a "Khanid Vengeance" or "Vengeance Mk II" for example. It's not like many would complain if all you did was re-skin the old model.
To summarize: new content is good - recycling/redesigning/re-engineering old content & mechanics endlessly is bad

If you don't like the devs making sure the balance is right, or perhaps making old pieces of crap worth it now, please, feel free to whine your heart out.
As it stood, and stands on TQ, the malediction, vengance, sacrilidge, and damnation have split weapon systems, and therefore, damage akin to a wet noodle. With the changes on sisi, these ships get a HUGE effectiveness boost, and can now properly do some damage.
Also, this game is constantly in a state of expansion. New stuff will be added, some things will be changed. If you have a problem with that, please, allow me to be the first to formally request transfer of your goods and liquid assets into my possession.

And the ECM nerf, the inertia stab boost and shortly following that the nano nerf, the introduction of rigs that completely changed the face of tanking, the changes to POS with Rev 2, and invention were what exactly then? -------------------------------------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales |

This nos change is just a complete screwdriver to the temple for a very large portion of the community. Call them overpowered or whatever you want, I never bocked at the principle of nerfing them.... But this is not a nerf, this is a fundamental mechanics shift on the module functionality and viability.
The OP has very valid contentions, the last 6 months in eve has been a nightmare and I am slowly reconsidering my years of time invested in it.
There is currently a litany of bugs and issues surrounding many areas of game play and they are all being attended to at a snails pace. For example remote repair drones that work on dreads in siege mode, been a pending defect for months....
Perhaps my biggest pickle right now is the POS ewar batteries, 100s average lock time on a target with 30s cycle times if you're not controlling the battery (which I am) but that is still an anal retentive lock time. For that matter a medium arty battery taking 60s to lock a certain target but 150s to lock the same target? cmon what the heck - the lock times are not even inline with eachother scaling between weapon classes on a POS.

Are you kidding me? Its a very big screw driver removed from the rectum of most of the community. Small ships become viable in combat now, if not downright dangerous for the unprepared larger ships. This will inject a LOT of fun into pvp, compared to before.
And as far as changes go, this is hardly world changing. It changes one module that needed changing. And instead of an small inconsequential change, they went for something bigger that might just be very interesting. I applaud their guts to take action in this way.

Something else Im kinda wondering about. Everyone is beamoning this change for their favorite ships and talking about heavy nos. How will this change small nos? Will Small ship be able to drain larger ships faster? down to whatever precentage? --------------------------------------------------- Have Rail's. Will travel.

well, if you fit an energy neutalizer instead of a nos, that little ship is as dead as before. this setup strips you from the cap (and thus tank) boost abilty when fighting larger ships. -- Tempus fugit -- |
