i would like to propose changes for eve. changes are quite drastic, but lets debate about them.
Main assumptions are that current territorial warfare is god damn boring, slow and not satysfying. So lets give it a much needed 'need for speed' ;)
1. POSes. change their role from defensive battlestations to pure industrial, logistical structures - No more sovereignity based on POSes. - POSes are used only for mining, research, production, jump brigdes, jump jammers - additionall idea is to have some sort of shield/power generators, armor/hull reppers in POSes that help stations.
2. Stations can be destroyed - Introduce new super weapon that can be fitted on MS (smaller version) and Titan (bigger version). Only These modules can blow station up. Not upgraded station can be blown up in one shot by a Titan. Remember that when system is cyno jammed, you cannot bring big boys on the field. - Stations can upgrade their hitpoints by using POS shield/power generators and armor/hull reppers - It is possible to blow station up in any sovereignity level but HP of station goes up with sovereignity. (higher soveregnity => harder to destroy the station - You can set one station as capital. Capital station cannot be blown up as long as it is Capital. Capital is no cost if you have contelation sovereignity. If you loose constelation sovereignity, keeping capital up costs fuel. - station upgrades can be destroyed just like they can be now - Station owner can self destruct station. - If station is destroyed, station wreck is created with loot inside (current wreck/loot system can be put there) - Wreck is permament but can be destroyed - Stations have 'safe time' New station cannot be destroyed for lets say a week (dor discussion)
3. New station roles - Station can be upgraded with new defensive modules like guns, shield armor hardeners etc - Guns can be automated or controlled by people - Stations hold sovereignity. For example if you have 3 stations in connstellation and you hold them for a month, you get constellation sovereignity. - Holding sovereignity costs (fuel or any other way of payment) - Activating defensive modules in station costs (fuel or any other way of payment) - Defensive modules do not have to be turned on all the time
4. Additional modules - Guns around gates (player owned sentries) can be based in connstellation when constelation sovereignity is reached.
