Oh, and same with the OpenOffice... MS Office is just too expensive if you can get a free alternative that has slightly more abilities (and less bugs). --- This is your Captain speaking. i tryed to find out more about OpenOffice today, and from what i can see, then direct import of XML data is not supported, like the type im useing in this Excel. So im afraid i cant help you there, only way is to manualy enter the data. So you not having a c:\ drive wont matter. ------- Ore & Ice Mining T1 & Capital & Rig Production POS Fueling and Reaction Minerals to Ore calculator |

I found another bug in your sheet, strangely relating to a previous idea of mine :P
The T1/T2 crystal box doesn't actually seem to change any data at all, the ore levels stay the same regardless of which you use. Plus there is always the missing option of no crystals at all, some people have no choice but to do that, could it be added when you are investigating this bug?
Your Ore calculator sheet seems to be giving a lot of #DIV/0! errors too.
Again thanks for the ever helpful sheet.

Selecting T1 and T2 crystals will only change your yield, meaning more ore pr hour, so that is the only thing that change, and when i try to change that, then i see the change. About the Div/0, it sounds like you havent selecet any laseres in the Mining sheet, since this is where i take the ore yield from, to calculate how long it takes you to min the needed ore. So you need to set up your mining ship in the Ore mining sheet before the Ore calculator is working correctly. might be the same reason why you dont see any change when you select crystals, if you havent selected the right laseres? othervice you are free to contact me ingame. ------- Ore & Ice Mining T1 & Capital & Rig Production POS Fueling and Reaction Minerals to Ore calculator |

I have just double checked this as I could well have been wrong; I have my current skills loaded from the XML file and my ship set in the Mining page thus: 5x Mining Drones I, 3x Modulated Strip Miner II, T1 crystals, Using Hulk, No (or 0) to all the other options. This gives 138.0 drone yield, 3437.332 laser yield for a total of 1284/m and 77026/hr. If I change the crystals to T2 it doesn't adjust these figures at all, I even checked by going through the other lasers and choosing some different values, again no change when switching crystal type. Same with the Ore calc sheet, I checked it with different lasers selected and there is still a #DIV/0! error showing. I've just fiddled with that a bit more and it appears that while you have "Use minerals from stock" selected unless you need more than you have in stock it throws the error.
The reason I was requesting the crystal change is because some people do indeed use charge capable lasers with no crystals and it might help them see how much they are missing out by not using even the T1 crystals.
Hope this helps you locate the bug I'm experiencing.

new Version 7,4,1
Yes its is true it writs a error in time calculation, if you select "use own minerals" and then select you need to mine less minerals than you already have in your stock, but that is because you dont need to mine anything, becuase you already have what you need.
The thing about the crystals, i cant see that problem, unless you dont have any Ore skills over 3, because then you cant use T2 crystals and then that is why you dont see it calculate, could that be why?

Ahh, I didn't realise it was taking into account I couldn't use them, I was trying to see how much it would increase my yield. That will be the problem then.

I've just downloaded your new sheet and put in the same ship setup, same skills: 138 for drones (same) 2115.28 for lasers (1322.052 less) 843/m (441 less) 50585/hr (26441 less) I now show no change when swapping from No crystals to T1, with T2 it tells me I need level 4 skills. I have L3 Veld, Plag, Scord and Pyrox; L2 for Omber, Kernite, Jaspet, Hemorphite and Hedbergite.
Being unable to see how your formula works I can't myself work out why it's not giving the crystal bonus, I have to assume you are checking all the ore types for level 3/4.
Hope this helps you work it out, still loving your sheet, thanks again for doing it

You are totally right, the bug was only there when none of the ore skills was at 4. This was definitely harder do implement than i thought
I think i got it working in this new error correction, Version 7,4,2
But still if you dont have lvl4 in any of the Ore skills, T2 crystals wont be calculating bonus.

I'm getting lower values this time and again changing the type of crystal shows no change to mining yield per min or hour. Put in my full skills to your sheet to see if you get the same bug: Mining 5, Astrogeology 5, Barge 5, Exhumers 3, Drones 3, Drone interfacing 3, ore skills in post above.
5x mining drones I, 3x msm II, T1 crystals, nothing else.
This now gives me: 138 for drones, 1940.63 for lasers, 785 ore/m and 47092 ore/hr.
I should probably go and work out what my yield should be and post a comparison for you.
Thanks for taking the time to fix this.

Edited by: Jendoe on 28/03/2008 06:08:29 First let me say thanks for working this, it has been a good help recently!!
But, seems in the newest version 7.6.1, you may have locked the rig names in the t1 rig calculator, unless its just me, but I can't select a different rig then what is showing.
Oh yea, and while I am at it.. seems the scorched Telemetry processor is missing as well, and it would be nice if I could get a total value of my rig parts.
Thanks again

At some point it might, but it would also need some kind of invention to give a precise build price, so i first have to find a good solution to this.

The File is not hosted on EVE-online's webpage, it is hosted by www.mediafire.com that is why you are forwarded to a deferent page, from there you download de file.

i think it is because you are cliking on the UPDATE beside the version note, its a link i put to make it easer for useres to check for updates of my sheet you need to click the botton below the minerals, it will update both prices and skills for you, IF you placed the skill file on your C:\ drive.
hopes it helps

Here is a little macro that I made to update the character info from the api site, I think you might be interested in this for your sheet.
Public Sub RefreshChar() apikey = Range("Preferences!$D$3") charID = Str(Range("Preferences!$D$5")) UserId = Str(Range("Preferences!$D$4")) Feed = "http://api.eve-online.com/char/CharacterSheet.xml.aspx?apiKey=" + apikey + "&characterID=" + charID + "&userID=" + UserId
'True for Overwrite, False for Append ActiveWorkbook.XmlMaps("eveapi_Map").Import Feed, True End Sub
You need to have a place to enter the apikey, userid, and charid in the sheet, in this one I used a page called Preferences, and you need to map out the xml import, in this case its called eveapi_Map.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me in game, as I don't come to the forums everyday. This could probably be writen better, as it is in VBA.

Awsome sheet.
However I loaded up the API information as it asked for and pressed "update skill data"
I got an error message from a VBA it said "BASIC syntex error. unexpected symbol /."
the VBA code was
Rem Attribute VBA_ModuleType=VBAModule Option VBASupport 1 Sub Knap317_Klik() http://myeve.eve-online.com/character/xml.asp End Sub
It highlighted the part in the URL after the "http:" part
I am using Open Office 2.4
Anyone have any idea if I should download somthing, or change some settings to make this work?
Thanks in advance
Daniel.

many people seem to have the problem with Openoffice, i tryed one time to see if i could find some information on this, and as fare as i can see then Direct import of XML data is not supported in OpenOffice
so Openoffice users only option is to manualy enter the skill in the Sheet called Data, i have marked some lines in the DATA sheet where you can inter the lvl of your skills.
But if someone knows how to get around this problem in OpenOffice, then it sure would be nice to know. ------- Ore & Ice Mining T1 & Capital & Rig Production POS Fueling and Reaction Minerals to Ore calculator |

Dedaf,
Since I use your sheet, which I love btw, and I don't know a lot about excel or XML programming yet, I did a bit of searching and found this > http://www.xml.com/pub/a/2006/01/11/from-microsoft-to-openoffice.html?page=2 <. Basically it tells you how to convert MS OFFICE to OPENOFFICE files and gives them to ability to add/use API inputs from different sources.
Hope this helps for all the OpenOffice users out there, and doesn't create too much extra work/coding for you. ************************************************ |
