Myrmidon with a good tanky fit and T1 heavy drones can solo all level 3s with a little skill.

You can also just skip the BC and get a Dominix, do the same with more drones to spare.
If you have a bunch of skills you can also use the ishkur (fun) ishtar (overkill) astarte/eos ([caps]overkill[/caps]). Drones > railguns, but if you have the skills a brutix/megathron/hyperion are pretty quick too.
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me.. Drone guide.. |

Edited by: Acoco Osiris on 05/07/2007 15:08:19 Myrmidon, no heavy drones. Heavies are only worth it vs. battleships, and in L3 missions you are never required to take out a battleship (although there are a few optional battleships you can take out-but then again you may as well use mediums). Shouldn't take long to train for.
My Myrm setup 3x 250mm rails Tractor + salvager Drone Link Augumentor Y-s8 AB PWNAGE (best named target painter) or webby 3x Cap Recharger IIs MAR II DCU II 4x N-type hardeners CCC
Usually put 8 mediums and 9 lights in there. And take your sweet time about training for a battleship-they're a big leap and not to be taken lightly. Besides, they move slower-a big factor when you're kiting enemies out sometimes 200km.
Oh, and if you're a bit bored, a Vexor with a similar setup can solo most L3s-though some missions have places where the DPS is just too much for a cruiser; for that matter, a battlecruiser has trouble. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Dominix if you can afford it, Myrmidon if you can't. You'll want a dominix to solo L4 missions anyway.
Fit 250mm rails in the highs with 1 drone link augmentor. cap rechargers in mids. Dual repper tank in lows with active hardeners (rat specific).
Don't need heavy drones for L3 missions

Quoted for truth
To add to this; It doesn't take long to train up T2 medium drones, fit a decent tank, a drone mod, some cap rechargers, fill your 125m bay with an assortment of light & medium T2 drones and any L3 mission will be easymode.

If you really want to be on the safe side fit a dual rep. Cap shouldnt be a problem and neither should fitting it.
Hi: whatever fits after the rest but 1 long range gun to draw aggro is nice. Med: 1x AB 4x Cap Recharge Low: 2x MAR t2 4x Hardener
Never found it necessary to fit any of the drone aug mods, the bonus of the myrm is really good enough. Im always in favor of max tanking preferably as perma-tank (as long as you can actually kill the boss npc o/c).

Sentries will definitely speed up blitzing a number of missions though, and that's where the domi shines...

Domi. Definitely domi. It's more drone-flexible than the Myrm and has a better tank for only about 10-12m more.
Put some drone range, speed, and tracking boosters on it and watch your mediums toast stuff faster, and your heavies catch frigs.

Like everyone says, Skip the Myrmidon and go to the domi if you can. It'll get you into Lv4's quicker, and if you ever go to 0.0 space, some ofthe best cash you can make is ratting asteeroids in a battle ship.

Tanaris, 2 Shadow Serpentis Light Neutron Blaster, (Myself runnin 1 and a T2 will switch when I find reasonably priced one) 1 Shadow Serpentis Light Electron blaster, or T2, honestly not that big of a difference, only reason for the shadow serp neutron blasters is the 9 MW powergrid usage instead of 10) 1 Salvager 1 Afterburner, meta with as low powergrid usage you'll find 1 Web (find one with lowest CPU usage x-5 or better) 1 Target painter (might switch it out for something, too cap heavy) 1 Adaptive Energized Nano membrane II (or sumthin like that ) 1 Magnetic Vortex Stabilizer II 1 Armor rep II, might go Deadspace type B or C depending on final powergrid 1 Powergrid rig 1 hybrid guns dmg rig (not fitted yet, still working towards skill)
Repair drones recomended (still have to try them though, training lots of skills atm)
Using faction ammo
Have managed all missions so far, most in 1 run, 2 missions so far I've had to warp out to repair. All in all, when finished with a extra faction gun, hybrid upgrade and a repper drone, I would never have to warp out of a lvl 3 mission engagement.
Ofcourse I might mention that this is very skill heavy and reliant build, the fitting is really tight on both powergrid and CPU
Fast and fun as hell

Befor you get any funny ideas let me tell you that repair drones dont work on oneself. So unless you bring a partner you can completly forget about them.

Thanks for that guess there will be a mission I need to run out on, but rarely. Maybe implants could help me with the cap and armor repairing, need to check it out but my setup still works, just brainstorming out loud for just a minor more advantage.

Having a repair drone can be great for keeping your other drones alive.
A drone can even tank some aggro if it is being repaired. For fun I once put a med rep drone on an ogre II tanking 2 BS spawns in the bonus bocket of Angels Extra in my Myr, worked fine.
