US Newscaster refuses to lead with the story of Paris Hilton leaving jail.
She gets my backing for her guts, I just hope she doesn't get sacked for that!

Edited by: Dark Shikari on 29/06/2007 19:13:07 It appears it was a stunt, as they just happened to have a paper shredder and lighter handy in the middle of the studio. From what I've read it appears that since Larry King Live got the interview instead of them, they're trying to convince people not to watch the story, so they did this intentionally as a publicity stunt.

about damn time. If only all newscasters would unite and rise up and refuse to broadcast endless news about celebrities. That would be a wonderful day. -=#=- Angry beer bottles make Kaemonn a sad panda

I had hope for American journalism for a second. Just, for a bit. Then you had to go and ruin it for me
Yeah, thats probably what happened. I can't see the video for some reason, I figured she had ripped it in half or something.

Either way I'm glad. I can not stand that stupid girl. I don't give a rats arse what she's doing every moment of the day and I personally applaud the judge for upholding the sentence when others tried to get her out on false mental claims. There are more important things in the news than Paris.

Try opening the following URL in Windows Media Player:

That should stream it for you.

The Paris Hilton crap has gotten way out of hand. They actually interupted the story about the Chairman of the Joint Cheifs of Staff to show Paris getting into a damn police car.

Having been on news sets, I can say they DO have shredders right there handy, always.
Why? There are constant updates to the stories, right up to and even during broadcasts, and they do NOT want the 'wrong' one read, so... when an update is brought, the old one goes in the shredder right then and there.
Not to in ANY way suggest that 'news media' isn't another word for lying, falsifying, slanting scum, you understand.
