I figure I already know the answer to this but thought I'd ask any. Once a character has been biomassed is there anyway to retreive the character from eternal slumber? |

You have to sacrifice 666 beers to the icelandic gods of time and space at full moon. If you tell the devs that you did it, they may look into resurrecting the dead character. things to do in eve: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-SZYZLfZ7E&feature=g-like&context=G2d6d016ALTmOeXwACAA |

It depends why you did it and how long since it happened.
For example a rage-quit biomass can be reversed if you ask nicely within a couple of weeks and tell them you're an idiot.
Biomassing a character to make sure you don't come back to the game (I did that in 2005 - I stayed away for 3 years ) when you've thought about it - no I don't think you'd get it back.
I don't believe there's anything technical preventing CCP from resurrecting characters but I think the general guideline is "don't do it unless it happened recently or there's an exceptional reason".

This, basically.
Though, there might be a technical reason: they might do database cleanups from time to time, and while your character entry remains, the data regarding his/her items, skills, etc. might be gone or even corrupted. |

Your items are gone for good the moment you biomass AFAIK. You won't be getting those back even if you get the character back. The reason is that the item database reference was a 32 bit integer and those got reused as items were destroyed/reprocessed/etc. It was a fair bit of the DT db scripts IIRC.
Its now 64 bit db references so you might have a fighting chance of getting some stuff back - but its bound to be hit and miss. |

There has been a thread about the same topic several weeks ago (cannot find it, otherwise I would link it). A dev said that normally data are not deleted, so there is most of the times the possibility to return biomassed characters- although it is possible that they have lost some skillpoints or other stuff if they are older.
I still think if you petition it, show them that you are a good mannered nice guy and promise them large amounts of beer (fresh out of the soda stream) they will do it. things to do in eve: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-SZYZLfZ7E&feature=g-like&context=G2d6d016ALTmOeXwACAA |

Afaik, biomassed characters are simply moved to "Doomheim" corporation.... tho all their assets go to corp they were in. So, in theory it's possible to recover character, not that CCP will be willing to. |

If you ask very nicely, CCP can reverse it. I know a guy who has come back from the dead.
However if someone already took your dead character's name, it's impossible. |

When a character is biomassed their entire wealth gets sent to your Corporations wallet, and all of the characters assets becomes impounded property. Some people in my corp has gotten their stuff/money back by paying the fee at the offices where their stuff was impounded, and by having someone send the isk back to them from the corp wallet.
Obviously if you biomass in an NPC corp... you're never getting it back. And enjoy paying the 150mil fee to get your assets out of Jita 4-4 or hub stations.

Not impossible , i biomassed my character and just before that gave all my stuff away.Came back to eve a few years later and asked CCP nicely for a recovery wich they did allmost immediatly. The only problem was the name flakes wich was my original name was taken allready so they gave me caldari55156321 name till i send them the new name i wanted. And here he is , flakeys , been a few years ago when i came back to eve so not quite sure if it is still a used method for CCP. |

Depending on time, reason and circumstance; bits and pieces may be salvaged. But you may not like what you get back, at all.
You can contact us and query about this, but this more so than on any other subject we can not promise a thing. Necromancy is an ephemeral and utterly unreliable thing. If you biomass a character that character is for all intents and purposes gone. Senior Game Master | EVE Online Customer Support Team | Info Group | CCP Games
