I'm not too sure about the RP pirate corp question, but the second Sticky in this forum was very helpful to me.

I'd go for Klepto.
Tiller's performance on these boards is worthy of an oscar... and like every great actor, he understands that the best way to entertain is to make them hate you.

Hello.
Welcome to EVE and your first step into the dark side. It's a fun path and some people will hate you.
1. Train up an alt who can fly an industrial. You will need him/her to move goods in and out of empire once your security status goes past minus five. 2. Accept that you will lose ships and pods. Regularly. 3. Learn how to use the scanner. 4. Stick to T1 frigates (rifter or punisher) for the time being. They are cheap, hard hitting and there are lots of good posts already written about setting them up. 5. Check the stickies within the Crime and Punishment forum for Pirate resources. 6. Relax and enjoy.
Am sure other pilots here will be able to add more.

I think the downfall of klepto (if there was going to be one of course) would be that its growning fast and mass gate camps are just boring.
Anyway my main tip for becoming a pirate is to first look for systems you can make yourself a pirate in, or look for a decent pirate corp accepting newbie pirates, and definatly make sure you have some pvp based SP behind you.

I say I say I say,
How do you know when you are a pirate? ... you just arr!
Ok, sorry about that.
I think the best advice is to keep ships cheap, and probably not use expensive implants for the time being. The best way to learn (imo) is through practise, and you will lose ships. Accept this and you have made the first major step!

You have to make them like you before you make them hate you, so Andy is a bad example. As soon as Tiller makes me laugh like Taxi did we'll talk. ------------------------------------- You are all worthless, and weak.

Most of what flashfresh posted rings true. Only advice I could give you is to just go out there and do it.
Attack anything and everything. You will lose plenty of ships this way but you will learn that they are expendable, this is very important because without fear of losing your ship you are already at an advantage over any target.
Fear is the Pod Killer You will also learn a lot about your capabilities, ie: what you can and can't kill with any given setup.
Practice, practice, practice.
ooh, also be very suspicious, it's a trait which could save you over and over again. Everything is a trap.

Unfortunately we can't recruit new characters. We specialize in gate camping so new members must at least fly a BC , with decent tanking , gunnery and core skills.
If you find other like-minded new pirates , nothing prevents you from creating your own corp. Of course , some responsabilities come with it.

Believe it or not, but there are actually quite a few people who have nice things to say about Tiller, in terms of his lighthearted approach to the gloomy eve-politics and his abilities as a pilot. Ofc a lot of those are too busy actually playing the game to give a rat's @ss about bragging rights on Eve-o.

Yes could not agree more!!
Also you will develop your own style..mechanics will be the same but you can build off of that. The age of a char should matter not nor how many SP's the other guy has. Just make your mistakes now...when it is cheap. And then you will slowly change your kill to loss ratio to your favor.

You know what they say. "When you're stronger and better than everybody, they start to hate you." _________________________ Look at the stars. Beautiful, aren't they? Take a good look, they wont be like that when I'm through. |

Ok I've started a char and started training the skills needed for the different add ons to slow down others and prevent them warping.
