At the top you should see "Accounts", and then double click on that, the rest should be apparent.

Entering the full API has no effect on EMSP, it's there so that other tools in the suite could/can use it. The other tools have yet to be moved over to the current build though, so until then, you can simply leave it empty. -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

It would appear that your provider is intercepting the request and assuming that EMSP is a web browser. I saw that on my provider to start with, they were asking if I wanted to use a page optimizing proxy or something.
Try going to EO with your mobile phone's browser and let your provider ask their question, cause I think integrating an "In EMSP Browser" would be asking a bit much -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Edited by: Kalhang on 17/08/2008 11:06:03 I tried installing it on my Blackberry Pearl. Couldnt get it to install from the weblink so I downloaded all the bits and installed it using the blackberry desktop manager. When I try to open it from its icon in my blackberry, it tells me "Error starting esp:Module 'emsp-1' not found". And thats it.
<edit: Disregard. I got it to work. I didnt read enough.>

I used the phone's browser to go into the web and told it that it was OK to optimize the access. After that EMSP wasn't asked again (i.e. no <HTML> tag appeared. It appears to be provider dependent though, so YMMV. |

Edited by: Matsu Crunch on 19/08/2008 14:34:37 Edited by: Matsu Crunch on 19/08/2008 14:33:43 I have installed this program both on a Nokia 5500d and a HTC Touch Diamond (Windows Mobile 6.1), from the alexalas link.
They work the same way, first time a character is created, and the API keys try to get verified, I get a null point exception which seems to have no effect, because the program works adequately afterwards.
However:
On the Nokia, it seems to have a timezone problem. I am at ETC+2 (daylight savings time), and a skill scheduled for completion @ 8:30 ETC would be completed @ 10:30 my time. However, when I try to export schedule to calendar, it is listed in the calendar for completion @ 12:30.
On the HTC, the second and each subsequent time I entered the "Characters" screen, my character was listed 18 times in a row downwards, each link working. This could be a problem when I try to create my alt's account as well. Also, if I try to scroll to either of the 4 last tabs of skill groups (Science, Social, Spaceship Command and Trade) the whole text below the heading disappears until I scroll back to either Corporation Management or Navigation (the bordering skill groups). In the cases of the first 3 skill groups, when I expand the skill group, the text returns. Trade is invisible whether expanded or closed (but under the cursor). The cursor is invisible, by the way, so I can only tell which skill group it is over by expanding it (unless it is the Trade group, of course). |

I've got it installed on a Sony Ericsson P1i without a problem.
It keeps complaining and asking for permission about everything it wants to do (or at least every session). Is there anything I can do about that?
Apart from that working ok.
One thing I did see is the following message when updating one of my characters:
Skill ID "3390" not found
This is probably the skill Mobile Refinery Operation which isn't available any more (but which this character has trained).
Another thing is the fact that my second account has it's characters in the list twice.
Thanks for the nice program, and hope this info helps in development :)

When I try to run EMSP on my Nokia 2760 it says 'Application Error', and when I press 'details' it comes up with the following error message:
'Out Of Memory Error java/lang/OutOfMemoryError'
Is there any way around this? Is there a way to free up more memory on the phone? Or reduce the memory footprint of EMSP?

When will the iPhone get in line with the rest of the industry and support J2ME applications ?
And what could you even do with EMSP on an iPod ? Its not like it can update you skills like a mobile phone with an online connection .... -- EVE Mobile Skill Planner V3 !! http://evemsp.sourceforge.net/ |

Just received a new mobile from work, for works use (yeah right!) anyway, just installed and tested ESMP on the Nokia 3120 Classic, can confirm it works..
(however, as the 3120 classic doesnt have wifi and doesnt seem to like using bluetooth as an internet provider, looks like you have to pay per time to connect to internet, unlike the E65 which uses the wifi in my house).. not thats tge fault of the program, just an observation.

Edited by: CottageCheese Discharge on 31/08/2008 15:59:38 Edited by: CottageCheese Discharge on 31/08/2008 15:58:23 I can confirm it works on the E61I as well, wonderful wonderful job. Skill browser and all looks great too! Honestly, it looks as good as GTKevemon on a mobile...not that it's complicated, but that's definitely a good sign.
Note: until you set a back button in the options on an E61i there is no default "back" button, and most navigation to "back" is done with the left key. I think you should add that to your front page.
Not sure if you devs for EMSP intended that or not. I noticed on Nokia phones they usually have something in a corner indicating a default button with a default function (like on the bottom left or right for "back")...if that can be done.
Edit: additional Idea: Add version checking (for updates) like google maps does? Can this be done/would it hammer your servers too much?
Also, great work Jabaa.

If I'm reading this correctly, these guys aren't commenting on the functionality of the EMSP application, but instead speaking that they can't access the eve-o website via the BB browser.
A. If this IS the case, my guess is that the very-image-limited BB browser is simply not rendering the page properly, and is kicking back an error. There is an option to change the browser emulation from native BB browser to an IE or some other such nonsense, I've got it to work previously on corp forums with a high degree of success, so try that maybe. I would assume the images will still not display but it should render the text "more properly."
B. If this is NOT the case, verify that you are using your provider's proper APN information (the wap.voicestream.com portion of the walkthrough). It sounds like your phone is trying to access content, and when it hits the verification portion (from phone to provider APN) it chokes because the information/provider is not entered properly.
Gut feeling though says that this is option A, and they're on about the eve-o website, not EMSP :)

On a Nokia it means you didn't give EMSP permission to connect to the API server to grab your skills when asked. |

Well i just found out that the API has been turned off by CCP following the patch, and that this is a common occurrence, my API importer for the killbaord is also throwing a fit, so for now I would bide your time and wait a day or three and see if the issue is this program or more likely the fact that CCP have disabled APi calls for the moment..

UPDATE: I tested this last night, and sure enough on update I received the same "Wrong XML type: HTML" error. My guess is that this was due to the patch and the API servers going down, because in testing it this morning, I get farther.
Now, when I update, it says "Getting skills...", waits a few seconds, then says that it begins parsing the skills, but then errors out saying
unhandled Node cloneName
A quick google search shows little that makes sense (to me, anyways)... Jaaba, did the content patch also result in an API update in such a way that it's pushing out new data that legacy versions of EMSP don't know how to handle?
