Ishkur in Sumerian is the name of the storm-god in the Babylonian-Assyrian pantheon
Ishtar is a goddess of fertility, sexual love, and war. In the Bablyonian pantheon, she "was the divine personification of the planet Venus. She is the babylonian counterpart of Astarte
Astarte (from Greek Αστάρτη (Astßrtē)) is the name of a major goddess as known from Northwestern Semitic regions, cognate in name, origin and functions with the goddess Ishtar in Mesopotamian texts. Another transliteration is ‘Ashtart; other names for the goddess
And for our Amarr friends : Abaddon (Hebrew אבדון Avadon, meaning "destruction"). In Biblical poetry (Job 26:6; Proverbs 15:11), it comes to mean "place of destruction", or the realm of the dead.
In Revelation 9:11, it is personified as Abaddon, "Angel of the Abyss"

Taken from the English language Wikipedia:
Badger is the common name for any animal of three subfamilies, which belong to the family Mustelidae: the same mammal family as the ferrets, the weasels, the otters.
Damn they got some great names (and graphics) for the early Caldari star ships. ----

Caldari ships are all named after fairly dangerous and ferocious animals, beasts and monsters. If you think that a badger is a boring and docile creature, you have yet to meet one
A small exception may be the Ferox, which simply means "fierce" in Latin. However, the term is used in the latin designations of a variety of predatory animals.
