FYI - I have a crappy laptop that I play EVE on. It's got old 2002 integrated graphics.
Anyway, when I used to open the game and have it at the login screen, I got 4, maybe 5 FPS. Now I'm averaging:
13.4
I don't know what you guys did, but if the game runs faster I will be a happy, happy panda! *n.n* _________________ Burn. |

It did seem smoother to me aswell. The load time seemed a bit faster too. Might just be in my head tho

No, I think you're right. When you look at the numbers I just gave you, that's a 300% increase. _________________ Burn. |

While on SiSi, the performance from the client seemed quite a bit higher, so I'm really looking forward to trying the new client on live :)

the startup screen (and hopefully the in-game UI), is running faster when I started up the game, with the login screen in the background, everything i started up would lag real bad.. Now it runs perfect like it wasn't even there.

I get like 300+ fps on the logon screen
Now if they stop the UI stealing over 100 of them i'll be happy -----

From what I understand, they will be removing the belt of moons and stars in the background that was added with Revelations.
For me, personally, when they were added, that's when the the massive drops in fps appeared.

Edited by: Cyberstrike2027 on 19/06/2007 22:29:33 indeed the login screen is optimised.
My Eve test client (still on old patch, haven't been on singularity for a while), gets 200fps.
Shiny new rev 2 client login screen gets 272 fps.
Huzzah for ccp. -----------------------

CCP just got around to fixing their totally incompetently written code after 3 or so years.
Previously the login screen was eating all the cpu doing absolutely nothing and now it isn't thus leaving some CPU time to other systems such as graphic rendering.
There's still hope for CCP it seems.

no u spanner.
They taken some of the graphics rendering burden OFF the CPU, and better utilised the GPU.
All round more balanced out across your system. -----------------------

I don't about now but pre-patch if you were running fraps to see you FPS and you hit the alt-tab to make the UI go away your FPS would jump form 40 to 80 lol
apperently older players told me it used to be like 20 to 200 lol

In otherwords you're just saying what I was saying but more politely. That and it was possible to do better game loops even with fixed pipeline if you put some effort to it.

Not really. I'm looking at my videocard's temperature sensors right now. I record about 3-4 degrees celsius less than yesterday with the old client.
So I guess we'll have to go with optimized code... OR, the fact that maybe the new Rev II standard UI settings have 0% transparency

Yes yes. When there are 3000 ppl on cluster instead of 30000 things load nice...and quick... and smooth.
I'll hold my congratulations until I see how it loads tomorrow.
