I have played this game for 2 years now and it seems with every passing month I get more and more client lag. Back in 2005 I participated in fleetfights 80 vs 80 with only some lag, most of it server side. Now I have problems with 20 vs 20. It also takes me up to 20s to load a new system meaning I have trouble being the scout (FC gets bored at waiting for my comp) and I usually fall behind the gang when we go full steam ahead. This wasent so 1-2 years ago. Recently I opened my task manager while running EVE and I was alone in system travelling and EVE used 91% of the CPU. I cant afford a new computer atm, Im playing for ISK and is unemployed, do I need to quit EVE or what?
System Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz 768 MB RAM Graphics Radeon 9800 PRO
Of course I follow all anti-lag advice. Re-install computer every 6 months or so, defragment every month, no turret or other effects, turned off mapping thing, changed prefs.ini to half my ram and I run in full screen when I can.

Na cause i'm getting lag my self at times. So here's what i would do: Clean out your computer case of dust and clean out the ram slots. this will make it to were your computer won't use up so much power to run programs, as i was having major lag when i started playing this a few weeks back but after i cleaned my computer of dust i'm not getting any lag at all.
Tho it might be due to at times there's about 20K users on at times so it could be that.

Dear Draak,
I run a pretty similar system to yours. I would recommend if you can to change the cpu and add a bit of memory. EVE did change as with windows XP which require more ressources too.
I have the same vid card as you but my cpu is a bit better atlhon xp at about the same speed and I have double the ram which help a lot. A spring cleaning session: defraging the hardrive and maybe a clean install of win xp could help too.
