So today I was bumbling around in BOB space in my falcon just out of intrest really. You hear so much about the mighty BOB I was keen to see a few gangs and the ship make up of their roaming fleets etc.
I was alone in a Delve system with an NPC station , just about to leave and continue my flight, a fairly new char jumps into the system with me. I hold 10k above the gate and scan for the noob, might get a kill i'm thinking. After about 30 seconds a cyno field appears on my overview. Local jumps by 4 but i'm slow to reach the station (60AU warp) so I sit cloaked about 40k off the station in a random direction.
I watch the cyno alt eventualy dock and i'm about to move on when 3 BOB Freighters undock. Strange I'm thinking, why would 3 freighters undock in .0 alone ? What happened next I still cant quite believe, A titan shows up at the station, the jump graphic whirls, the Titan and 3 freighters dissappear as quickly as they came.
Chuffed I actually saw a titan and lived to tell the tale :)
Very disapointed I happened to stumble across a carebare gravy train.
What on earth could they have been doing jumping 3 freighters arond with a titan ? Have BOB discovered a logistical loophole , is this an oversite on the devs part allowing Titans to effectivly jump the fattest slowest ship in the game great distances instantly ? Were they fueling POS's or making billions running trade routes ?
Intrested to hear your view. City

Super-caps are actually very good logistical ships. Theyre not meant to only be an offensive weapon. In fact, i think theyre more useful as logistical ships than offensive ones.
They basically used the titan's jump bridge, one of its many features. No exploit or anything, just part of the game.

After some detective work by my fellow alliance members, it turns out Venal sells plutonium for 11280 isk, and Curse will buy it for 13483 isk, netting a 2203 unit profit.
Curse will buy a million units a day, roughly. Someone has been filling these orders since May first. Everyday. All one million. At 2200 isk a unit, that's 2,200,000,000 a day. Every day. Since May first. 40 days at 2.2b a day is 88b, or almost the component build cost of two titans (http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingamebo...74362&page=1#3)
To give you an idea, it would take about 40 minutes to complete the chain from H-PA to whatever station in Curse they are selling the plutonium at.
Constructive comments only please

Official Request for comment from CCP.
Was it intended for freighters to be able to travel by jumpdrive? Because this seems borderline close to ridiculous.

It was a rather strange "oversight" considering they would allow all capital and non-capital ships to use the JPG, but then suddenly flip and go "zomg no freighters can't go through."
It's 100% within game mechanics. It's 100% NOT an exploit. Saying it's an exploit is like saying using carriers to haul ships is an exploit. They pay people to think about every single scenario and trick that can be gotten out of these ships. This was EASILY one of the first things to come to mind. It got into the game, didn't it? -----

How is this news?
I was in a dozen plus MC freighter op with Shrike and his Avatar once. Using the JPG to make a multi-hour long freighter refueling op into half-an-hour max instantly jumps to mind when this device because usable.
But you're right. It's only BOB doing this (as you've only seen BOB doing it), which means they're exploiting a game bug. --- in EVE - Idara |

I never once said that it was only BoB doing it nor did I even say it was an exploit. I would just like to know if this was intended to be or not.

I think it is perfectly clear that BoB doing something makes it bad.
Nobody complained when AAA POS bowled and stole BoB carriers.
But then everyone whined when BoB POS bowled in response. Result? No more POS bowling.
Same thing here, probably.
Considering that freighters have been jump portalled as a matter of routine by every titan-owning alliance in EVE history, I don't think its an "exploit."

Dunno, how long would it take 30 Dominixi worth of Ogre drones to wtfpwn a freighter protected by a titan that would be utterly cuckholded from launched its DDD because it would lose the other two? Only slightly less fun than destroying a titan would be utterly c*ckblocking one.

I'm forced to agree. Nothing is getting exploited here. They're jumping freighters, yeah. They're buying up mass amounts of plutonium, yeah, and selling it in a different region. So they make 2.2bil a day. They have the equipment to do it and you can bet your ass that other jump-capable alliances are doing this as well, or will be after they read this post.
I have no love for bob; don't get me wrong. But calling this an exploit and their fault is bs. They're using all the tools they have well within the parameters of game play to generate cash.

Funny how you pretend to be clueless and yet hint at a traderoute where you can make a billion profit.
I think it's quite obvious that this is yet another political -and jealousy- inspired flame bait.

Risk vs Reward is right there.
It is extremely risky to move titans about, the very existence makes the admittedly difficult task of taking one out a very tempting opportunity. I am not arguing the possibility of how you could do it, I wouldn't know, the possibility is there though.
The OP didn't mention a support fleet with the titan, and someone else guessed they were flying from Venal to Curse? I'm sure someone is watching, trying to figure out if there's a particular buyer or seller they favor. Perhaps they do this at a certain time? Someone on the inside may even be waiting to leak a certain departure date. The OP made it to this station unharmed, so could someone else.
Even if you only got the freighters and the titan fails to show up because he got warned, you hit them. Perhaps the freighters should even be the only target if it's deep in enemy territory, I wouldn't know how long to drop a titan (a while, I know it's a good while) and if/when they could bring in a support fleet.
Just saying, there is a risk involved involved with flying titans around. They are hard to take down, as well they should be as the single most massive ship in the universe, but when they do fall it's certainly an adequate loss. --- Your RIGHTS are a PRIVILEGE, don't abuse them.

Well there are two possibilities really:
1. Moving goods/equipment either to market or else to a staging area.
2. Hualing POS parts etc for more POS spamming...

Loophole?
No, not at all. It is the jumpbridge of the titan. If you move freighters or fleets of BS, doesn't matter. The jumpbridge is a great logistic tool and VERY important. Personally I think that it is more important than the doomsday stuff.
I don't know about the other people having titans and if they use it in this way, but if they don't and if they do freighter convoys the old fashioned way instead of using the titan then they are doing something wrong
