Ok so I was in a PVP match when 4 enemy BS's warped in, so I got out. I told my drones to return but 1 didn't make it. When I dropped out of warp I noticed my lost drone was listed under "Distant" space. So I warped back to the station I was fighting at 100km and the drone moved to "local" space 115km away. I was able to command it to come back to my ship.
Is this new? I have drones V Drone interfacing 4 to name a few and wondered if that would have made a diff.
The lost drone was a Hammerhead II

Perhaps it's just that you didn't travel too far from them, and so still had control.
Or it was in this weeks patch, dunno.

Sometimes it happens but normally they just sit in space and you have to go to them and scoop them up.
Nobody realy knows why drones do what they do. ------------------------------- C.D's Formula for success ------------------------------- Credit Card = Game Time Card Gametime Card = ISK Therefore Credit Card = ISK.

Edited by: cytomatrix on 01/06/2007 19:02:01 I dont think its a bug. If you ask the drones to return to dronebay and warp out they move to drones in distant space. If you warp back to that place again, you can control the drones without scooping them and relaunching, as long as you dont dock. I really hope its not a bug because its quite useful. ______________________________ Caldari blood. Gallente style. Minmatar Attitude. |

Interesting. Whenever I had to abandon drones, they never showed up as "distant". I've actually never had a drone listed there. It'd be nice to know exactly how they fall into that category.
Maybe t2 drones are smarter less dumb than others.
