Aren't salvagable materials dictated/seeded in wrecks per demand by region? I've noticed that for a while I wasn't getting hardly any Contaminted Lorentz Fluid in Metropolis, but I would have no problem getting it in Everyshore because of the types of rats that are prevalent. Then I started salvaging these items in Metropolis a couple of months later.
Now, I can never find Melted Capacitor Consoles in any wreck I salvage. I have to buy them to build Capicitor Control Rigs at about 500,000 isk a pop (it takes 22 to build one.) [Throwing Up]
Can anyone shed any light on the current rules of supply and demand for salvagable items? I posted in the missions thread since the bulk of salvagers are probably mission runners.

Unless anything has changed recently you want to be salvaging sansha wrecks for MCCs.

Ahh, thank you for that info, are they found mostly in Amarr space?

That is good to know. I was lucky enough to have a lot of them stock-piled when it came time for me to build my CCC rigs.
Does anyone have a good, up-to-date list of the kinds of salvage commonly dropped by each kind of rat? ------------------------------------------------ FT Diomedes - That ship looks like one of those centipede things from that game, what's it called? FT Cold - Centipede. FT Diomedes - That's it! |

Edited by: Keri Rydell on 23/05/2007 14:29:39 Researching ME also helps - it takes 20 to build one rig at it's perfect ME and it's only ME15 you need to research it to (ME15 knocks off ~2mil ISK off the cost)

Sansha battleships in 0.0 drop up to four of them at a time.
This is my sig, there are many others just like it. With me, my sig is worthless. Without (or with even) my sig, I am worthless... |

I have been looking for the same thing. Also, I can swear I did salvage some MCC some months ago from high sec rats. But now they don't drop :( forcing my to go to that congested overated system called jita to get them. -------------------------------------------------- BPO/BPC Blody icons should be different |

Sansha battleships drop up to 4 of them at a time just about everywhere... "Up to" is the key words there though.

Sansha's drop melted cap consoles, but blood raiders drop them with a greater frequency. Specifically why I mission and rat in amarr/khanid regions

Amarr ships also drop them very frequently. Any level 4 mission with lots of Amarr ships is usually a goldmine for MCC's. Rogue drones can also drop them, but rarely(I get 2 to 3 MCC from IO usually).

centus missions drop quite a few up to 3 for the big battleships.

Works ingame too (looks nicer and everything is a showinfo), but wouldn't use it unless you're docked (IGB gets whole EVE client laggy as heck). Not many use it actively recently, so "accuracy may vary during actual gameplay". Well, you could help revive it ;)
P.S. I stopped salvaging anything a good while ago, just not worth the time. _ MySkills | Module/Rig stacknerfing explained |

I have noticed a sharp decrease in salvage material drops since the last patch a few weeks back. Whereas BS's used to drop upto 20 units of salvage of various types, I appear to only be getting about 6-8 pieces maximum now. Frigs drop one piece, cruisers/BC's about 2-4. No wonder rig material prices are so high. That which does not kill us makes us stronger. The Universe is ruled by three basic principles- Matter, Energy and Enlightened Self-Interest! |

roaming the same area and so far for me sanshas have given more melted caps than bloods (comparing lvl4 Blockades- maybe its tied to specific battleship rats? have no idea). Personal record is 32 melted caps from one sansha blockade

As others have noted, the Amarr navy is a great source for these items.
As for salvaging not being worth it, perhaps that is a matter of perspective. Melted Cap Consoles are around 550K each. Level 5 of Human Cattle (Level 2) dropped 16 of these last night. That's around 9 million just from those items. Add in the tags and the loot and you take a level 2 mission from worth a few hundred thousand ISK to one worth at least 30 million. Of course, it generally takes a few people to take down the battleship fleet in Human Cattle (unless your skills are very good). Still, even divided three ways it is a very good reward for less experienced players. ------------------------------------------------ FT Diomedes - That ship looks like one of those centipede things from that game, what's it called?
