If the Developer that worked on this for months fails this bad then you need to go back to the drawing board or remove the impossible to solve patterns.
Just remove the random unsolvable patterns CCP. This is not fun and you learn nothing or improve getting screwed by impossible to solve evaluation patterns.
Good show though, seeing your main developer fail continuously to either find patters or explain them was great. |

The "developer" was just responsible for taking the raw data that the telescope provided, and putting it on your screen. That's the limit of the "developer's" involvement. The developer is as much a newbie at finding exoplanets as the rest of us.
Do you believe that they had some microbiology PHD genius at CCP coding the previous Project Discovery, with the cells? They just had the regular CCP devs, because all they are responsible for is GETTING THE RAW DATA TO YOUR SCREEN.
So yeah, remove the unsolvable patterns, CCP! Point out which are the planet patterns, CCP! And while you're at it, prevent people from coming up with idiotic posts, CCP! Make them think smarter when they log in, CCP!

Who cares? Until I see a check containing the wages of a scientific data analyst, be damned if I work as one for free. |

Use of the word hilarious...check Use of the word literally...nope Pointing out failings of others when you have no clue what they do and have never done anything like it...check OP owns a fidget spinner....probable.
Pls try harder.

If analyzing blips produced by staring at stars light-years away (which by relativistic reasons probably exploded or something by now) was easy, it would probably be simpler to just hire monkeys to do it.
Instead they got "sociopathic autistists" (myself included, and I still love you guys) to do it for free in exchange for internet space ship points. All in all, that's pretty cost efficient! |

They aren't that far away and stars live for a very long time. A lot of science is bottle washing and button sorting that monkeys and robots can't be trained to do. Getting the public to do it for Faecberk likes or ship-skins seems pretty cool to me.

The developer made it very clear he was the lead on Project Discovery for many months. It helps when you pay attention and not just come to threads to make fun of people. Your sad attempt at being funny and edgy completely fails.
I have worked as C++ developer for over 25 years on Projects that are trivial compared to this.
Please don't assume next time, it just makes you look stupid.

You should have watched the stream then because according to him that's not what he was doing. But hey, it's always better to just come to the forum and make some snarky comment while having no clue what you are talking about, right? |

You can take your thinly veiled insults back to Jita local, pubbie.
Yes, the lead developer on what CCP refer to as project discovery, a tool using a dataset from an external source, all he did was work on the CCP side of the project, he has nothing to do with the actual samples shown outside of the few test ones he would have been given to help create the UI, as a C++ developer of 25 years i would have expected you to be able to figure that out ;) |

Some of the "unsolvable" evaluation samples got mixed in the beginner set.
