But ... yeah. We are, a little bit.
Amarr stations are ... well ... so....
The station we're based out of is in the heart of the Empire, where the Empire has been a spaceborne power for several thousand years. Amarrian stations here, even the ones now owned by newer entities, tend to have a lot of history. Old structures form the basis for the new, but not everything's getting used all the time.
The depths can get a little Stygian.
So, basically, the Cardinal's overdue on an urban spelunking expedition in a truly three-dimensional setting of several hundred cubic kilometers. He's capable, but, it's not like capable people never get into trouble.
We're not overly concerned (the OP is even mostly a bit of witticism at the Cardinal's expense), but ... yeah. Maybe a little.
Yeesh, scratch that reliance on recorded intel. I keep forgetting where that budget of theirs goes, and security probably isn't it.
Looks like station rats are your best bet. Especially Matari kids in the slave quarters. Too young to know not to talk to strangers, and curious enough that they find good hiding spots. |

More like 'they know by the time they can talk not to talk to anyone they don't know'. |

Don't know who this Malthus fellow is, but he's pretty much right. Spent a couple of years as a station rat - because of personal stupidity and misplaced self-loathing, not a lack of care from the authorities - and if he's not tracked by the station authorities, the underbelly rats are your best bet.
That said, they tend to be very quick to figure out what's in their best interest, and getting involved in capsuleer affairs is never that. Anything you can offer them will always be in the 'too good to be true' category, and any threat will fall into the 'another drop in the sea' category. You'll need someone who have been one, or are otherwise associated with them - certain station security will likely have formed a small symbiotic network with them - to do the actual legwork.
Simple enough matter, but honestly I don't see much point in it unless there's reason to think there's a criminal element there that is sufficiently stupid to get on capsuleer radars. I highly doubt that's the case, since whenever that's happened, there's usually been rather... pointed examples made of such stupidity. The end of entire syndicates, their loved ones, their loved ones' loved ones and so on tend to teach that lesson very sharply and I highly doubt anyone there have failed to learn it during these decades of capsuleer existence.
It should in fact be easy to verify. If the rats and lowlifes are fleeing the station as a flood of rats fleeing a sinking ship on fire, - or trying to - something may have happened that'd slightly vex a capsuleer. If not, he's probably perfectly fine. |

Not to cause offense of course, it's the truth.
I used to be a security officer aboard a small low-traffic station before I signed up for capsuleer training. Granted, I keep forgetting that dealing with capsuleers is a whole different beast than dealing with any ordinary spacefarer.
(Edit - By low-traffic, I mean low capsuleer traffic. We had a decent amount of normal haulers coming by every so often to take away ore or drop off supplies.)
But yeah, if you use enough proxies, they won't know to run away until they're already working' for you. |

How does one go about losing "The Cardinal". I mean the guy has more of rock god status than Revan Neferis and he is still alive and kicking.

I asked a young man at Caille if he knew of any "lit" parties going on and I found the Cardinal about half an hour later in a region with a name that rhymes with "Belve".

Not with that attitude it wasn't.
... although all jokes aside, I know what you mean. There's always more important things to get on with than surfing some achuran boy down a mountain of crash somewhere in Delve.

Glad to see that the Ancient Relic is alright and has been recovered. You might want to chip him so that its easier to find the Cardinal next time he forgets where his room is and goes wandering. |
