Ok so I'm stuck in the situation now where I can either do high quality (18) lvl 4 missions in low sec space an potentially risk loosing my godawful exensive ship....
Or I can choose to do crummy quality (-7) in high sec space and not worry about getting jumped in a mission.
My question is, can anyone give me some estimates on the difference of rewards on these qualities? And does quality affect LP gain for potentially saving up for high LP items?

Best answer I can give you is my own choices.
I ran missions for Caldari in Motsu, 5400 roughly as max. (.9 security) Moved to Aramachi (.5) and now my max is 7619
So security system make a HUGE difference compared to Quality, I think my agent dropped from 18 to 13 or something like that (been a long tims since I had Eve-time). Negative standing in high sec, unless you run level 3s..or farm for books...I'd go with a different faction. to each their own, hope my two cents help!

Personal experience, limited as it may be, you can effectively double the LP moving from high sec <0 to low sec >0 quality agents. I currently run lvl 4 Q 18 missions and draw an average of 6k LP with no connection skills.

Gah! I never knew it made such a huge difference.
I run L4 missions for an security agent and have the 2 skills that affect LP from security agents to lvl 5. I have 9.7 standings with him.
The agent's unmodified quality is -9 and modified (from memory, I'm at work now) it's around 18.
He's in a 0.5 sec system.
The MAX I get from any given mission is around 3.5k LPs. I've never, ever had anything above 4k.
Dang! Now I know why people crowd into certain systems for the best agents. It would be great if the only "quality" that mattered was how much they liked you.
But of course I would say that wouldn't I?!
Gah, gah, gah, double gah. Now wonder I've only got 300,000 LPs after my entire missioning career, and have never cashed in an LP offer!
Sod that, next time I'm just going for the 15k LP offers.

Just as a point of comparison I run missions for a level 4 ql 20 agent in a 0.1 system. I have negotations 3 and a standing of 8.1 atm. I don't remember what the effective quality for this agent is, but I get between 7-8.5k per mission and I don't have any of the special connection skills. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! As rough rule of thumb each 0.1 'tick' in security status is worth approx 10 points of agent quality. Where 1.0 is worst and 0.0 is best.
For reference L4Q18 agent in sec 0.7 (L 5/5 in connection skills) shells out approx 7100 LP while L4Q17 agent in sec 0.6 (L 5/5 in connection skills) shells out approx 7950 LP per hardest missions. So security of system has quite noticeable effect on LP rewards.

I run a couple of 4-20-agents in 0.1, connection III, both special conn-skills IV, gets 11800lp/good mission(its max). (standing with corp: 9.96)

Your best bet is to go out into 0.0 for missions, sounds crazy but i get 12k lp for most missions... I have both skillbooks at 4 as well so that makes a difference..

Tried it out, rewards where fantastic, except for I had my ship popped in an hour and a half after starting by people camping loaders coming out of stations.
Beginning to wonder if its really worth it....specially since I plan on buying a Machariel soon and definately don't want to risk that.

And that right there is low sec's problem in a nutshell. 0.0 is even better, and empire gets you away from interruptions or consistantly losing ships to probers.

Heres a weird question.
I'm doing missions from a .5 sec agent. But the next system is a 1.0... and he often sends me their to do my fights and what not.
Am I still getting the lower sec benefits from the point 5? Or am I getting the rewards for a 1.0 at this time?

Little more info, usually about 1.75-2.75 mil as reward and 3-4.5k LP, no books.

Whatever system your agent resides in, your bonuses are calculated based on that system, regardless if he sends you to go a mission next door and that system is 1.0. Least I've always perceived it that way

Edited by: Bistot Kid on 22/05/2007 10:42:30 I now have excellent standings with my preferred mission corp, so visited a +18 agent in a nearby system of the same security (effective quality +39) and he's offering me around 7k LPs. Over double that of my current agent!
I've remembered why I'm going with such a poor quality agent ... after grinding the standing to scr-ape the bottom of L4 agents I basically picked my current one and didn't bother checking other agents out as my standings rose and rose.
Until this thread, I didn't realise it would have such an astonishing effect on LPs!
Edit: This profanity filter is shockingly bad! "scr-ape", I mean, c'mon!
