Eve University Welcomes You!
Eve University has been in existence for over three years, with the goal of serving the needs of players new to the Eve Universe. Well over 1000 toons are now enrolled making it one of the largest corps in Eve.
Eve University is a rarity in Eve: A purely altruistic corporation. Everyday, faculty and older students give freely to new players their most valuable resource: their time and guidance. This has made Eve University one of the friendliest corps in the game.
We are a relaxed corporation, with an open door to new players (less than 8 wks) who wish to learn. Faculty and mentoring positions are also available. Students and Faculty are welcome to stay just for a "term", or stay forever to help out future students.
Here our some of the corporate activities that we run: - Group NPC Pirate hunts and Mining expeditions - PVP combat lessons (Tackling, EWAR, scanning..) - Special building subcontracts - Guided mission and complex runs - Our library of videos and lessons to parts of the game - Learning scholarships - and much more..
We have a number of scheduled instructed classes and events a week, in addition to the many unscheduled events lead by our helpful older graduate students.
New Players: Come join a corporation whose sole interest is introducing you to Eve and making you a better player.
Many fine careers have started with Eve University as their first corp. Read our previous recruitment thread to hear the testimonials of players from all around Eve.
Experienced Players: Do you wish to give something back to the Eve community? Would like to give your game more meaning than the next ISK, or the next dead NPC rat? Become a faculty member at Eve University. You will find teaching and mentoring new players a rewarding experience, while still being able to enjoy all aspects of the game.
Criteria to join Eve University
Students (<8wk): The only thing we ask is that you have finished Eve's introductory tutorial and follow-on missions.
Staff & Faculty (>8wk): Our criterion for more experienced players is a willingness and desire to help and instruct new players, and to support Eve University's mission.
Remember to please respect Eve UniversityÆs mission. E-Uni is not a warehouse for alts. Applications are accepted at one of our 30 offices (list available in my bio).
Wish to learn more? Join the ôEve Universityö channel and talk to some of our friendly members and students. Or see our commercial.

Here are a few things that happened in the last few days:
- Two corporate sponsors provided 75 mixed class Caldari ships and 50 Taranis interceptors to be sold to our students at 1/2 market price.
- One of our members funded 5 fully fitted Cormorants given to 5 students with less than 14 days in E-Uni for free.
- A loaner fleet for new miners was established with 6 mining cruisers and 3 haulers. New miners are loaned these ships without charge while they earn the isk to buy their own.
- Classes in fleet movement, tackling, EW, trading, mining and jump clones were held.
If you are under 8 weeks in game and could use some support, guidance and mentoring, join our public channel and give us a shout.

Joining Eve University is only the best decision you could ever make when starting Eve. The best staff, learning experience, and friends you could wish for.
I was a student there my first day, and loved it so much I became an director and recruiter for Eve University. Now that I have left, I am running my own corp helping players to make the transition from Empire space to 0.0 life, which is inspired greatly by the Eve University model.
Join Eve University now, as a player or instructor! You will have no regrets!

Just a typical few days at Eve University:
- 5 more brand new pilots received fully fitted Cormorants in a trivia contest.
- Over a dozen more ships from frigates to battlecruisers were donated to the Uni.
- An all day mining op, complete with lessons on anti-can flipping... [Still think a 1/2 can of veld for a T2 fitted Drake was a bad trade, dude. But you did win the fight in local.]
- Live classes in tackling, fleet movement, scanning, covert ops & ship fitting.
For more than 3 years, Eve University has been helping new players get a good start in the Eve Universe.
If you are under 8 weeks in game and seeking assistance & a team atmosphere, look in my bio for a list of stations where you can apply for admission.
Fly safely!

For any new player coming to Eve, joining Eve University is a no-brainer.
E-Uni made my first couple of months in the EVE universe 100 times more enjoyable than it would have been had I not come across them. Apart from the fantastic classes, helpful resources such as those Dee mentioned in his post and the great fun, these guys are the most decent, helpful and friendly bunch I've come across in any MMO.
If you're new to this world I would recommend 10000% to get out your schoolbag, pack your lunch and head for the University. You will not regret it.
Much <3 to the Uni!

But in EVE, you're the peon.

Joining Eve Uni is probably the single smartest move a new player can make. The Uni has many experienced players, all of whom are in Uni to enjoy helping new players to appreciate the game. Whatever facet of Eve you want to explore, Uni probably has a regular class to start you off, skill books to get you trained and most importantly players who have been there and done it all, and now will pass it on to you, and for no charge.
In Uni, I've learned efficent mining, PvP basics, Fleet operation basics (even Uni goes to war sometimes), and at no stage was I made to feel like a noob - because bar the instructors we all were.
If you have a mature attitude to gaming then Uni is your first (and for some people only) stop in Eve.
Enjoy learning the game from some real pro's.

E-Uni is the best place to start playing Eve. There's a lot to be learned about the game, and in the Uni you can learn it the easy way. But Eve University is not only a place to learn, it's a place to do the things you like. Whatever you're into in the world of Eve, you can practice it in the Uni (with the notable exception of piracy and griefing, though all "fair" forms of PvP are very much allowed). Don't let the name fool you though - University doesn't mean a bunch of spectacled blokes and chalkboards. E-Uni is as real and vital corp as any in the game, with the added benefit of friendliness and openness. But when things get rough (and in Eve they always do so eventually), the Uni has teeth and claws to show and use, much to an enemy's surprise.
Now that I've left the Uni to explore a broad world of possibilibies (and pew-pew), I can only recommend it to any new players looking for a corp or not sure what to do in Eve.

I think I'd like to join Eve University, but I don't see the chat channel in the channels list. Do I need to change some setting to access it? Should I just evemail a recruiter? Or is this just a joke?

Eve University is by no means a joke. There are a few jokes thrown around in corp chat, funny ones at that but more importantly there is a lot to learn in Eve and I am still learning, skill points aside, and I will and do suggest Eve University as a great starting point in Eve.
Fly safe and nonstop to Korsiki II Moon 7 School of Applied Knowledge if you wanna get started on your education in Eve

No joke, hon. At the top of the channels tab is a button marked "create/join". Click on that, then enter "Eve University". That will drop you in the channel. I've been in Eve Uni, and The Graduates for 1.7 years now. There is always something going on, with a laid back, friendly group. Join channel: "Eve University" or read here |

For new players, I highly recommend looking up this group of folks. As has probably been stated, they have their own collection of "how-to" videos and audio files to provide explanations to you on certain aspects of the game.
Furthermore, the sheer amount of player knowledge accumulated in one entity is simply amazing. Regardless of what direction you wish to take in this game, EvE University should be the first you look at.
And, if you choose to pick a different route in this game, but still want to tap into that wealth of knowledge; the channel "Eve University" is open to the public, and is a great place to ask questions, and get *real* answers; something that is rare enough elsewhere.
CCP should pay the "instructors" an in-game salary. That's how beneficial this group of folks are to the community.

I was just a wee little miner when I joined Eve Uni, and I grew up and became a huge carebear! Virtually everything I know about EVE, I learned in Eve Uni.
Anyone who says I'm not a carebear is lying. Really. I'm all fuzzy and cuddly!
