Am I missing something? Nothing but "Empty Leaking Casks". Is it bugged? Has someone already been there and cleared it out and it hasn't reset?
Any help, ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you. |

This is just a fighting complex with no Hacking, salvaging or archealogical things in it, kill it all and thats it done with. Ive found 10 of these unknown signitures and nothing decent has dropped from any.

Nothing decent drops until you get an escalation from the site, follow it to the end and kill whatever is there.
Prob is, it's chance based for the initial escalation, so the first step may just do... nothing. After that, it's chance based that the escalation path doesn't deadend along the way and not go all the way to the end step. So you basically have to keep flipping "heads" for 4 to 6 steps to get to the end and get the goodies.

Btw, for how long does exploration sites "stay in place"`? Until you've run it - or until DT?

Until you trigger it. For instance, the hi sec site Gurista Hideout (or is it Lookout?) has a trigger of an Expiramental Weapons Tower in the second stage that you are supposed to blow up.
That's the triggering mechanism. Once you blow it up, it's decided right then whether you get an escalation or not. Whether or not you actually get the escalation doesn't matter, the site will eventually despawn because the trigger was tripped.
If you find the site, fly around in it, shoot any NPCs in there, but don't kill the tower, the site will stick around for weeks. DT isn't part of the equation for exploration sites.

Ive had 3 escalate, been 7 + jumps in 0.0 to the next part 3 times and still only mission quality loot.

Thank you for the info! Does the chance of escalation apply only to the first time I enter.. or is there still a chance it will escalate if I return later?

You're unlucky then, a buddy of mine doing exploration found 40 mil in faction loot at the end - and that was in high-sec space.

Sounds to me like it only matters once--when the trigger goes off. First time you enter or multiple enterances shouldn't make any difference, only setting off the trigger.

As they are right now escalation sites are not even near worth the trouble. I don't even bother probing them down anymore. But they are unnerfing them a bit in revelations 2.0 Adding a chance of a faction spawn at every escalation level.
Depending on how big chance it is it might become useful to do them again. ---------------------------------------- A Guide to Scan Probing in Revelations |
