I predict that on 6 January 90% of the people who failed to collect their gifts during the original windows will still have failed to do so. And most of them will be back on the forums once again, crying about how unfair it is that they didn't have a proper chance to get them.

Man, tolerating other people is hard enough in the present. But you, you're burdened even in YOUR MIND in THE FUTURE.

Yes I agree. I haven't played the game for over a year now and I still managed to get all the holiday gifts. I would have said tough luck. |

"Tough luck" could have been an option, but December IS a very busy month for most people and it seemed quite natural to extend the gift program to January 5th. Similar to the Echelon gift last year and the Zephyr previous to that, both were available until after the New Year. Senior Game Master | EVE Online Customer Support Team | Info Group | CCP Games

This initiative looks very nice from CCP, but hell, I am not in such a dire need of these gifts that I will ask a GM to play Santa for me when the petition queue is, as far as i know, pretty long and there is no spare manpower.
That is, please use the time you would have needed to give me my goodies to take a coffee break (or whatever). |

Pretty much guaranteed considering how many login notifications/devblogs there was first time around and so many managed to screw up and miss out, most that I've spoken to that didn't get anything had some awareness there were gifts, so it's not like they were completely away from EVE with no chance to redeem.
Still fair play to CCP for stepping up to help out those few that really were away and genuinely missed out, and the crowd of dullards that just DERP. |

Why CCP did you make it so "difficult" to get the presents in the first place, instead of them just showing up in our hangers, like past years.
I got the 2 implants, but somehow missed the notice on the 3rd round of presents(ammo/fuel). I would of really liked the ammo/fuel, but I am not going to bother an overworked and often abused GM to fix a problem in my missing a notice and in CCP's desire to overcomplicate the giving of a gift.
SO for next year, CCP do yourself a favor, dont get all fancy in the selection of what presents a player can recieve, and just dump stuff in our hangers in a fancy wrap, thank you. |

im not a rocket scientist and i had zero problem understanding any of the 3 gifts offered, i got both implants and my 3 destroyers + ammo bundle all accounted for. I didnt know anyone could possibly not get thier stuff unless they werent playing. its not like it was hidden 20 links off the main page on a backup ccp company website
I clearly remember seeing the gift bundle (ships/ammo/fuel/stuff) on the eve main page (though my corp was also making it known) so yeah, either blame people for not posting it on thier corps, or from being as observant as a cement block (or both)

Here's what CCP should of said to the players that don't know how to read:
So, didn't get your holiday gift ay? You're also probably the same exact people that don't read your EVE mail to see if an alliance/corp event is going on or that you've been war deced. You're also the same people that fly around running missions and mining while war deced then cry about how it wasn't fair. Well, news flash kids: Welcome to EVE Online, a game where we don't spoon feed you everything you do. Learn to take the initiative... Or not, your tears fuel us.

Hmm, I think the best course of action is for me to wait until Jan 5th 23:58 EST until filing that petition. Maybe even fall asleep at the keyboard for good effect.
Then hit the forums early next morning. |

Perhaps this has been addressed in one of the many dev posts around this subject, but I've missed it if so. Please be gentle.
Is there a time limit on the redemption of the Christmas gifts? That is, I selected my gift within the proper timeframe, and now it awaits me redeeming it. Can I leave it in the redemption system indefinitely?

From my perspective I spent most of December off the forums and I didn't see the announcement on the launcher because of all the eve related ads and updates during that time. I finally found out about it by clicking on a link during character selection (which I hardly ever pay attention to). Once you do go to the account page you get no in game notification that you "did it" right. I would have preferred if you saw the gift icon in the corner and then that would have taken you to the dev blog. |

Hmm, I don`t see any option anywhere for me to claim any 'free gift'
(Could this have to do with only having just re-activated my account again, mean I`m not eligible, even though I`m playing again before that 5th Jan cutoff date?) |
