Most memorable was the first time I went to amarr to shoot some slaver scum(PIE ) in my Bellicose and got chased off by a Maller, Geddon and a tackler frig(amarr missile friggy). Barely made it out.

Happy birthday EVE.
I can think of so many things to say, but I think what sums it up best is: Getting a job at CCP a year ago has changed my life completely. I have never enjoyed working somewhere this much, and I don't think I ever will. Thank you to our insanely loyal customers for making this possible, you are EVE. I feel like I owe you a beer at fanfest 2007, so come talk to me!
Regards, CCP Morpheus Internal Affairs Agent

It's far too difficult to say what my favorite thing was in game, alot of events have gone well and had awesome player involvement, and some things on my main were about as good.
Still, overall, I'd say being at RL events, like Gencon and GDC, and meeting the players, was the best.
And hanging out with players talking about EVE is always fun, because I'm a giant EVE fan(atic) like that. Players are what drew me to EVE, and you're definitely going to make ithard for me to leave, if that day would ever actually come.
[cartman]I love you guys[/cartman]

My favorite moment would have to be realising quite how amazing the brutix is as a combat ship. Undocking with my friend in a Brutix and Ferox. searching the 1st sys we find and engaging a group of 2bc's 3cruisers and 3 frigs... we only killed the bc's and 1 cruiser but it was one of the best fights of my life
Also, petitioning a lack of birthday presents and getting a hanger full of jovian stuff (but im still hoping for that one)
Happy Birthday EvE its been nice playing with u

One of my most memorable moments was the mariage of two corpmates from my time in northern light. Our ceo, black mirror, was the priest of that evening. And mechcore was the photographer of the ceremony. Such situations shows that role-playing in eve is splendid and keeps your corpmates very close to each other.

Happy Birthday EVE.
Met some great friends, had some great times and looking forward to 4 more years. Best moment was singing "100,000" at last years fanfest, pretty drunk with some of my best mates.
See you at fanfest 2008.

Edited by: flnhst on 05/05/2007 15:19:17 Hello,
When i first saw EVE Online a few years ago i thought was a horrible game compared to WoW. During those days i was playing WoW mostly.
Last year, i was getting sick of WoW, i found out your only option was to grind and do dungeons in groups, that was never my playstyle, so i tried other online RPG games. With Auto Assault i had no luck. I was almost the same as WoW, i could never get any time free to play with people.
Then i saw advertisement about EVE Online, about a 14 day trial, and i thought i'd give it a go.
It was the greatest experience i ever had. If you wanted to mine, you would mine. If you wanted kill rats, you would kill rats. You would never be pushed in a direction.
The best experience (and memorable moment) i got was today actually, i was flying my first Mining Barge. Compared with WoW and other MMORPG games i played, that was the greatest advancement for me then i ever had in a MMORPG game.
Thank you EVE Online, and happy birthday!

So many memorable moments in EVE... Some that come to mind include:
Fighting a Myrmidon in my Arbitrator for over 5 minutes 1v1 in a tense battle to the death. Had my heart racing for hours afterwards, and has to be one of my best achievements in EVE as well as one of my favourite moments... It's in my first EVE video if anyone wants to watch, you can find it through the link in my sig.
Laughing hysterically the other day as we (about 4 of us in BS) got a carrier dropped on us, then not 10 minutes later on the same gate got a second carrier dropped on us from a completely unrelated corp. The second fight involved THEM, and primarying our scorp pilot who we'd recently told to armour tank his scorp and fit 3 points and 3 sensor boosters... Our entire ventrillo server was in hysterics for at least half an hour about the badly fitted scorp and THEM's choice of primary!
Losing 4 BS in one day some time last year (hence my sig). First to a few people complex running, then to a camp on some gate somewhere, then to 3 Dreads attacking our POS, then later that night to some more plex runners... Lots of fun was had and yes, I used to be a really bad player (still am half the time!).
Every single time I go in to structure and manage to get my ship out!
Testing a new ship out on an alliance friend and accidentally blowing him up!
Taking a fleet in to S-U8 when it was controlled by the Goons and losing all our ships...
So many awesome memories! Keep it up, CCP!

Happy birthday, EVE ONLINE!
My most memorable moment in the game happened when I was only few days old, only had a noob frigate and stumbled upon a fresh wreck of some player ship with CovertOps Cloaking Device (it cost about 89.000.000 ISK by that time). Actually the moment I'm talking about is when I pressed the "View Market Details" button... :)
It was like "WOW!!! I'M A _LUCKY_ BASTARD!!! :)"
Thank you all, CCP and EVE Pilots for this great universe!

I have a lot of memories of EVE, when I first started playing the mining OPs of the whole corp I was in (Foundation) was something to be seen. No mining barges or hulks back in those days, instead you have masses of frigs and cruisers all beating down on roids. Masses of lasers everywhere and after several hours mining you managed to get 1M trit.
More later when I finally moved to 0.0 and helping out with allsorts and finally after 2-3 years playing, getting my first kill and setting the heartbeat into overdrive.

Oh, geebus! That reminds me of the story about the first wedding in EVE. (And I'm laughing so hard right now just thinking about it that I can barely type.)
LeKjart, who was the lead designer at the time, had made a bet with me at our launch party. I was saying we would have players that wanted to get married within two weeks of launch and he poo-poo'd the idea. "EVE is a man's game! We won't have things like that!"
I was off by one week. It was three weeks later that I got an e-mail from two players (sadly, I can't remember their names) that wanted to have an in-game wedding. Cayman rushed to put these 'ceremonial rings" into different regions for each race. I got some pointers from Clover about Minmatar culture and made a shaman-type character to perform the ceremony, which I wrote.
The big day comes and there's quite a crowd gathered for the event. MajorGormur flies out with this big-ass ship to fire off some AOE missles and such since we didn't have any confetti and fireworks.
TomB, who was still in QA back then, flew a little too close to him, got blown up in his little frigate and all of a sudden in the chat channel where the ceremony dialogue is being broadcast, there are these warnings - "CONCORD is attacking MajorGormur!" - just spamming up the place. Gormur is trying to evade them, so they keep coming. I was about to die laughing, tears streaming down my face.
Classic!

Happy Birthday eve...
I'd have to say my most memorable moment was being podded for the first time on my way home from running a lvl 1 courier mission into 0.0.... but on the other hand my corp mates might make some reference to a different night of drunken rambling that I have memory of.... lol...
Anyway happy birthday, and thanks for all the laughs and the most awsome complex game ever...

Edited by: Saint Lucifer on 05/05/2007 15:32:56 I've done some amazing things in my time in eve. Amazingly skilled, and Amazingly stupid.
Unfortunately its one of the stupid things i'll never forget.
After about 2 months of playing, mining hard, saving my isks, i finally got my beloved Megathron. I had worked towards it so long. I had it fitted, and undocked. As i undocked, i saw a tiny thorax, the players icon showing yellow, with a skull. "HA!" i thought, a tiny ship was no match for my huge battleship, his bounty was mine!. I opened fire and my armor melted in seconds.
The system was 0.9, and his sec status must have only been about -0.5. I was only new, i didnt know the rules Concord have picked on me ever since.
Why i didnt quit then, i have no idea. But i kept playing, and i have loved every day.
-
The other moment that i'll never forget happened only a couple of weeks ago. Our system in fountain was heavily camped, and intel was given that the invaders were raising a pos. I decided to bust through the station camp, to scan what had been anchored so far. Only a few bits, maybe their shield wasnt up yet. I decided hell, lets just warp to it and see. So i warped to the moon, and landed safely inside the forcefield. Nobody to be seen. A viator and an iteron 5 sat next to me, unpiloted.
With my speed rigged rax, bumping them took only a matter of seconds, and i swiftly destroyed millions of isk worth of mods, rigs, fuel and anchorable equipment.
My ranting in local quickly alerted them all to my presence at their pos, and 20 or so ships rushed to the pos to fix its settings and get rid of me. while a director tried in vain to fix standings, a brilliant game of cat and mouse went on inside the shield, ships flying everywhere in an attempt to bump me out. Finally, the settings were correctly enabled and i was bumped out, my thorax became space dust.
Possibly the biggest solo victory i've ever had, estimated 100 million isk in damages

Last, and favourite memory (yes, im shutting up now)
Paying someone in snigg 5mil to call Xirtam a****, on TS, during operation coathanger. That had me in stitches for over an hour.

Holy Flying Monkeys! I have been playing this game for 4 years.
My best memory of EVE was going to the furthest system out in the area Serpentis had its stations; seeing the last system out there on the edge, before 0.0 became what it is now.

My most memorable moment in EVE?
Its gotta be when I was voted ISD Volunteer of the Year in 2006. Heading to the Fanfest and meeting the fantastic people at CCP, the players and members of the community who attended and also my fellow ISD volunteers. Its great to be a part of it all.

My never ending stupidity will be my abiding memory of Eve. To be fair I am probably one of the oldest characters in age and no spring chicken in Eve either.
My first week was a little fruitless as I hadn't realised that you were supposed to 'learn' skills.
Losing my Hulk while (almost) solo mining in 0.3. That was a good one. The 3 million insurance payout was a bit of a shocker as well.
Bumping into other peoples well armed POSs with expensive cloaks in my supposed covert ops ship was another facet of my skills.
I treasure all my kill mails as they only ever feature me being killed.
Most pleasing was being donated my first Thorax, building my first Mega and keeping as far from 0.0 as I possibly can!!
Here's to the next 4.

Happy Birthday Everyone!
I did not arrive until end of may myself (saw the game on the shelf of GAME store and thought it looked interesting). Space seemed so empty back then. Spent a lot of time being an explorer in a slasher posting images of Points of Interest of eve on eve-explore and whoring eve-i. I thought the game was utterly boring mining simulator when i first started until I joined my first player corp where we started to have fun. Then I got wrapped up in the rebellion when some priestess of the Tetrimon cult decided to kill some Matari children and I got enrolled in local along with corp mates to go kill them. Was like one of the first times I saw battleships fielded. Months later I joined the rebellion and the fight for freedom.
I remember living in curse in the days before alliances when only the stain alliance, fountain alliances, the beginnings of the venal alliance existed, many people lived in curse ratting and mining that was until Curse Alliance came and took it for themselves. Was fun times back then. Cruise missile spamming rifters and dual mwd ships 4tw :)

I remember how hard it is to get back a BC after you lost it, so never going to risk as much again.
I'd rather remember how cool it was to go into battles more then once a month because you could not avoid it.

How about when CCP gave us all snowballs and launchers, the hour or so after downtime were one of the funniest ever.
Camping a gate and legally aggroing in Jita with your snowballs and watching Concorde play on your side till everybody wised up :)
Great Job, lets hope were all here in another 4 years.

Happy Brithday to you, Happy Bridthday to you...dadadadllalala etc.
Anyways, long ago as a noob in eve, I opened for the first time a window to a new EVE uniiverse .... it really did opne as a window which unfortunatly hid the chat channels (just off the bottom of the screen) so I spent my fisrt few days communicating with the EVE universe via evemail and thinking it was a bit much to charge for chat, CSPA must be making a bomb. Anyway i had to mine like mad to keep up the payments incurred by my prolific chat. Thanks to Damige and Knowl for pointing out that if I just raised the window a tad I could chat for free ....Cheers m8s
