In my never ending search for ship setup's to concord people with, I name came to use the hurricane.
Kinda new to minmatar and projectile turrets, so far I made this setup. Objective is to kill a macro mack in less then 15 seconds.
Highs:
6x 425mm autocannon I (loaded with emp M) 2x heavy missile launcher
Mids:
1x passive targetter 3x shield extender
Lows:
4x gyrostabilizers 1x dmg control 1x EAN I
Drones:
Doesn't have a big drone bay, so i stick with 3 hammerheads.
Any idea's how this setup is like? Objective is to gank the macro. With poor skill I get a 4.5 dmg modifier on the guns.

Drop a gyro for a BCS? You're not getting anything good from that 4th gyro anyway. ---

Lose a gyro for a tracking enhancer or a plate I should think. Apart from that it looks like dps is maxed out on it, and it is a very nice minnie dps ship.

I hear heavy assault launchers have slightly higher DPS then normal heavies.

mwd, web, scram, injector.. do not combine shield and armor tank
low: 1 med repper, some hardeners, maximum 3 gyrostabs. __________________________ It's great beeing Amarr, ain't it?

Way to go on the reading. ^_^
He's talking about a ship to attack macro's in high sec. :) As much dps and HP as you can muster is generally considered the best way to tackle concord. ----------------------

Concord permajams from the second they lock so you'd be better off in a myrmidon with 5 ogres.

If you only live for 15 seconds, wouldn't it be better to use artillery? If you can get the alpha strike high enough it doesn't matter what your DPS is.

Yes thats very true, DPS doesn't really matter because you aren't going to live long enough to really use it. What you are looking for is a the highest possible Alpha-strike without using T2 kit (as your likely to loose it), so smartbombs over arty imho. ___________________

Aren't close range weapons supposed to better then the longer range variants?
I always compare the autocannons with the blaster type of minmatar, and the artillery as the longer range. And what does alpha strike exactly mean anyway? Do you hit alot harder then normal with artillery the first time you shoot? I still have to see to 1 shot ship kills, so this means I have to get a couple shots off in 15 seconds.

Alphastrike: The damage your weapons will deliver in the first volley of fire.
Example (i made the damage up, no flames plz )
Tempest: 3500 damage in first volley , 10 sec rof Armageddon: 1000 damage in first volley, 2 sec rof
seconds: First volley: Tempest: 3500 damage Armageddon: 1000 damage
2: Tempest: 3500 damage Armageddon: 2000 damage
4: Tempest: 3500 damage Armageddon: 3000 damage
6: Tempest: 3500 damage Armageddon: 4000 damage
8: Tempest: 3500 damage Armageddon: 5000 damage
10: Tempest: 7000 damage Armageddon: 6000 damage
You see: With 2 vollies of tempest, it stays ahead of armageddons DPS. After this point it will lose out though.
20: Tempest: 10500 damage dealt Armageddon: 11000 damage dealt
Thats after 20 sec than. I mean the numbers arent real, but you get the point _________________________________________________ Breetime

What's a macro mack? Is it a Concord or a player ship? I have an idea but...

Mack as in mackinaw, the t2 variant of the retriever.
So I think I'll change my highslots to 6x artillery 720

Use a vexor, rescoop your drones to get 5x ogre Is out. Heavy blasters, complete tech 1 fit will kill a mackinaw in any sec space.
