If you read the backstory you will notice that all the factions have a common origin. Humans that were trapped by the ancient WH.
They should really all speak the same language, but I'll agree that there should be some regional differences. |

Immersion taken too far can ruin the fun of a game. At some point you have to draw the line, step back and say but that's not even fun! Including made up languages is more chore than fun to the vast majority of players.
This thread reminds me of the nuts who bothered to make elvish and klingon functional languages. |

Isn't this game supposed to be set in a distant galaxy at the end of a collapsed wormhole thousands of years in the future?
Or is there some chronicle explaining why not just the Gallente, but all the empires use the same plain English text to label their corp logos?
Wouldn't it make more sense if each empire had it's own script to label it's ships with? It would certainly add immersion and depth to the game.
You can always switch to the russian or japanese localized client... It'll seem just like a language from thousands of years ahead. "Have you had your morning coffee?" -> the Coffee Lovers Brewing Club is recruiting! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=363976#post363976 |

Actually, Tolkien made elvish himself, along with the other languages in his books. He was a very sad lonely young lad so made up languages for fun. Then he matured and his scary little mind spun up The Lord of the Rings and input his languages into it. He spoke his own languages so all the fans did was bring it back to life.
Now for klingon, similar idea, but WAY more effort by the fans. |

Is this a bad time to point out I once translated the Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear into Elvish just for the hell of it? Unsub or don't.-á I don't care what your reasons are, and neither does anyone else.-á Just click the button and go away - or don't. |

Oh, there are several languages in EvE already, other than the International gamers.
Scamlish Grieflish Ganklish DEVlish RAGElish
....and so on.
All of which are based on the English language. Mostly. The universe is an ancient desert, a vast wasteland with only occasional habitable planets as oases. We Fremen, comfortable with deserts, shall now venture into another. - STILGAR, From the Sietch to the Stars. |

its in cyrillic on the russian client and german on the german client, chinese on serenity and japanese on the japanese client. Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs. |
