Hi, I cleverly removed my bookmark to my safespot with a load of secure containers in it.
How do I scan this location down again to collect my goodies?

Funny that, i did the same thing... removed my BM and now i can't get to my can.
i do know the general location i had it though, a few AU from a gate, so me and a friend popped over to the last known location with a big pile of probes and set to work trying to sniff it out.
nothing. no hits. we were out there for a long time too and launched a ton of probes :\
i have to say i'm pretty annoyed (at myself mostly) that you can't scan for secure cans. you should be able to scan for everything! |

I'm pretty certain you cant find containers with probes.
Sorry, too bad for you.
On the other hand - if you think about it I imagine that's about the only way your containers and the spots they are in were ever going to be safe in low sec systems so CCP probably had a good reason for making it this way.

Edited by: Venkul Mul on 07/04/2007 08:40:04 Some very comvolute suggestion to try to find them (never tryed, so they are only ideas):
go to the test server, the mirror isn't so recent so probably you bookmark is still alive, jump to the spot and do a bookmark.
When you do a new bookmark the system give you the coordinates, so you can note them.
Try control-c and see if you can paste them in a bookmark on tranquility, if that don't work try editing a bookmark when you do it, changing the coordinates.
I dubt either system work, but if the can content is important, it is worth a try.
Last option, note as exactly as you can the position on sisi and then start a search in tranquility with a ship capable of sustaining a MDW forever.
Edit: forgot what section is this: Sisi = singularity, the open test server Tranquility = the play server

Im not sure this works but u can try it.
If u make GSC apear in ur overview and then klick on ur system scanner. Show overview setings tab. Then try to find ur can with sys scanner and narow it down to 5%.
Now head this way with MWD. Or find spots from where u can jump over ur can and spamm bookmarks. Sure flying with MWD thowards it can take ages but better then nothing.
This all is possible if u can make ur sys scanner show GSC.
SRY my english is crappy.

Once, I lost my ship in a mission. I cancelled the mission and went to go back out to where it was to recover what had survived my ship destruction, only to find I hadn't bookmarked it. My loot was sitting in space with a 2hr timer before it disappeared. :(
I petitioned it, and a GM moved me to my cans within 10 minutes. They were *very* helpful.
I don't believe you can find safespots like that when there's nobody in them. Cans can't be scanned for. I would suggest petitioning it (politely, as they technically don't have to help you for a mistake like this) and maybe you'll get lucky. :) __________ The opinion(s) expressed above are mine alone and are not necessarily endorsed or supported by my Corporation or Alliance. |

Highlighted the important part for you. This is about the only way you can (if you can) get back to your cans. As noted, if you could scan down cans, they wouldn't stay there for long anywhere but hi-sec. Good luck with that.
