So I've got a question. Not trolling, just curious...
Every time I decide to log into EVE to queue up more skills, it appears that there is an update. This doesn't really bother me, but what is with all the updates? I remember prior to Crucible, there were none of these daily updates. But here's my question:
Instead of daily updates, that appear not to really fix anything that appears important, would it be possible to do weekly updates instead? It just seems that there is so much that is broken, but yet it was all released in one big chunk.
Thanks much! |

Everyone has been moaning for more regular updates and more responsive bug fixing for ages, and now CCP is doing it. Please don't spoil it for us.
It's important to get fixes out as soon as possible, because with a product as convoluted as Eve, fixes often need fixes. That way, delivering the initial fix ASAP means all the wrinkles can be ironed out ASAP, too. |

This.
And Crucible, as good as it was, introduced a lot of bugs. None really show stopping (aside from a few crashes), so I am glad they released when they did. So there has been a lot of bugswatting, it'll probable settle down after a bit.

I totally love it when I log in and it tells me there's a new patch. That means **** is gettin' done! "The world as we know it came about through an anomaly (anomou)" (The Gospel of Philip, 1-5)-á |

Indeed, releasing less frequent but bigger bug fixes has two large drawbacks.
1: We have to deal with the bug for a longer period of time.
2: If something in the patch doesn't work as planned it is much, much harder to pinpoint it. Revenge should not stop at the ship!
It's not so much a mission statement,-áit's more like a family motto. |

I would rather band aid several small cuts instead of one large bandage over the whole series of wounds. CCP...more updates! |

After an expansion it is common for there to be a flurry of updates as bugs are fixed. They get farther and farther apart as the expansion ages.. and then the next expansion hits and it starts all over again.
At least the catch 95% of the bugs before deployment, if I recall a dev post correctly. CCP employees should never proclaim a feature to be awesome. Only subscribers should. Subscribers can never answer a question posed to CCP. Only CCP can. |
