FPS went terrible overnight with the patch - 6 accounts playing at the same time went to 2 FPS! I've had to optimize for performance in the display and graphics screen. Everything was high before and now on low or disabled. As long as the effects are there it's not bad.
The game is just as playable without all the fancy graphis there. The FPS is now at 30 or so and that's ok for me. |

We do read the forum posts, but particularly with performance issues, we really need the additional information that comes with in-game bug reports to be able to diagnose the issue.
These steps may be old news to some who are suffering performance problems, but first please make sure you do the following:
1) Update to the latest driver version for your graphics card. In some cases we may rely on driver functionality that requires certain versions or later to work.
2) Make sure you choose "Download Everything" in the launcher and let the download run to completion. Download on demand can be great for many players, but it can cause stuttering or slow loading for some people.

Thanks CCP Darwin, the bug report related to this is EBR-92978, made after the September patch. It's currently part of a ticket I renewed after the October patch, because the problem is even worse now. I suspect that part of the new issue is that certain settings which you can disable to increase performance like astro environment are not working, means they are always on.
Also I noticed that the citadel lights (docking, landing) sometimes are there sometimes not after the patch, haven't found a pattern yet ... and actually I'm becoming tired of chasing bugs and issues every patch

Been getting hit with Socket closures and being shut out till I close the launcher and relaunch it. Occasional server shutdown kicks saying that the server kicked me.

.. I have switched to low shaders now, otherwise I'm not able to play anymore ... but also with this I get stutter, also in the probes window (never before). There is more ... but since my bug report was not processed since September patch and also the few people complaining here, I have not much hope this is high on the priority list ... so I can see the time where I have to stop playing with my hardware.

Not sure when it started but lately i often have semi-broken market in Jita. Lags and inability to set up sell orders. 'Underpaid workers blah-blah...'. I think it started week or about ago.
Other than that the game works well.

CCP Antiquarian and I discussed this issue this evening and we'll be looking into it, but a bug report will always give us more useful information than posting here, and I ask that if you can spare the time to make one for issues you encounter, please do. Even if you don't think it'll add anything to the investigation of a problem, it often will.

What has happened to being able to run off "Asteroid Environments"?
I have it turned off on all my miners but for some reason, ALL are showing the rubbish (and unfortunately using the extra resources that come with using such pointless visual effects.
CCPlease fix it..,,.. It really is annoying to look at....

Thats the issue I have..I can run them with no prob but they look terrible -- The big prob is you have decently textured (usable) asteroids surrounded by flat horrible grey potatoes.. Add to that the god rays shader is way over the top.. there should not be 40 pinstripe rays like this...
Anyway as long as its being worked on thats fine.. |

For some reason, you have turned on Asteroid Environments in all missions that feature asteroids. This ignores the Asteroid Environments settings under Display And Graphics and cannot be turned off. The effect impacts my graphics performance noticeably, in particular in missions with gas clouds that already strain my GPU. Ought to be fixed. I do not see the added value of sand grains on my screen as graphical visual improvement of the game.

Another patch, another problem.
Error message showing up in launcher after patching, on attempting to log in, symbol in launcher went from 'play' triangle to the square and then.... nothing, absolutely nothing.
Tried resetting all settings, restarting computer, even did a total uninstall (including registry components) and still getting error in launcher.
Is anyone else having issues getting logged in to game? Has latest patch 'broken' launcher? |

Thanks, see the asteroids got fixed ... but now I expierience a new problem, which fortunately is in your area of work if I'm not mistaken ... you may guess it ... there is a big environmental cloud in the 2nd room of the Blood Raider Gauntlet site, which wrecks my FPS and the only solution is to go low shaders, because this removes the cloud. Can you please, please remove this cloud?

Fiddle with your graphics toggles. One of them ("Effects" I believe) should disable clouds, though it turns other things off as well so it's not unfortunately a specific setting. At least it doesn't, from what I recall at least, turn hardener effects and turret fire off like it used to. I know that's not a real solution, just another approach that might look better or be more agreeably than turning down shaders depending on your preferences.

You are right, but in PvP the effects are helpful and you can't just switch them off mid-fight when you encounter a cloud, because the setting requires a session change. Low/Medium shader switch is much more feasible.
It's all workarounds a bad cloud shader implementation. Clouds were not a problem on DX11 before the "performance" patch. Yeah I know most people will not notice because if the FPS is cut back by 2/3 from a base of 180 raw FPS it's still 60 and fine. But my base is more in the area of 80-100.

Unable to login. First time I tried the launcher, it looked normal until i launched a couple accounts. they could not connect to server. I closed launcher, restarted, and it lost all of my logins. restarted launcher, put logins back in. Adding the account took a lot longer than usual, but they showed up. Launcher now just hangs at verification, "version info not available 0.0%" - just sits there, no option to launch accounts. |

NVidia, specifically an EVGA GTX 660 SC2 3Gb VRAM.
My frame rate, which normally stays around 90s-120s in space, still tanks a bit when encountering clouds, but now it actually stays at around 60 and above so it's hardly noticeable most of the time. Particular exceptions include a couple missions -- L4s BR Blockade and another L4 I cannot remember -- where the frame rate gets crushed and drops to about 40. What's even weirder is the fact that my frame rate doesn't actually improve like normally in Blockade even if I zoom all the way out, so something about that mission is definitely FUBAR. The other mission seemed to get better zoomed out, I just don't remember which mission it was. Besides that, I can otherwise actually stay zoomed in when inside and around clouds without my frame rate turning into a slide show and my card and CPU turning into a nuclear meltdown hazard.

I have three issues:
1) When I do a copy-paste from a detailed view, only some of the items make it on the paste even though everything is selected. if i scroll down to the bottom of the list and do a copy/paste again, it works. This was never required before. 2) The "low capacitor" warning does not repeat like it used to. It behaves like a shield/armor warning where it only sounds once when the % is met. it used to sound all the time when cap was below the threshold. 3) My brain hurts from all the accelerants :)

Ahoy,
I'm loving all the new graphics and having no problems with them.
However, the custom tracking position from the old camera is till sorely missed. I realize (I think) that it will be more complicated to build that sort of tool for the dynamic camera, and that is not what I'm asking for.
Please consider creating a custom tracking position option for the camera when dynamic options are turned off.
Right now the only way to track an object and prevent it from being obscured by the ship is to use the dynamic option, but all the off center zooming and jumping around while centering before panning is still too rough for me to use without becoming disoriented.
A custom tracking position for the non-dynamic camera would really make the game more playable until the dynamic camera is fixed.

Issue with Oct 24 2016 launcher update. Win7 AMD x64, NVidia GTX 760, DX11 (i think), new launcher is vers. 1086194 per launcher log. All available logs are post-update.
All used to be normal as of last night, with launcher in window. But launcher updated this morning, and now launcher display extends beyond screen edge on all sides. Like launcher screen pixel height/width was set suitable for 3000x1500 or some such screen, but then launcher was displayed on existing 1600x800 screen resolution. Nothing else shows on screen, e.g. no taskbar, no response to right click on launcher display, all icons overlaid.
Launcher now asks for name/password, did not used to. This login can be cancelled/skipped, and then display of my two accounts appears, still enlarged on screen. Logging in results in normal alt selection window, and game plays ok with both alts logged in.
Alt-tabbing allows for escape from the launcher display.
Annoying.

I am having same issue... uninstalled ... cleaned my registry....reinstalled...used log lite.. said a patch bundle was bad... Filed ticket.... Nothing yet from CCP
