When I open the map, the little box of autopilots options and stuff isn't popping up with it. So I can't really do much in the map without it. And I'm not seeing any other way to exit the map(since I usually use the "close map" button that's in the box). I can click the "Map" button that I use to open the map but it doesn't work. Instead it just gives me back all my floating squares and triangles and all that stuff like I'm not in the map anymore, but I'm still looking at things way far away(like when in the map). From here I can warp and dock somewhere, then undock and everything is fine again. But I need my map, and I can't do much without that box of options.
Any solution? Maybe a way to open the box of map-options manually if it doesn't pop up when I open the map itself? ______________________________________________ Meow..........! |

Right click in black space.
Open world map control panel.

Exact same problem here. I'm unable to right click the little black bars that say Star Map, Solar System Map, etc. They seem to dock themselves on the "Overview" window, at the top.
Glad you brought this up BlueCat, I thought it was just me.

F10 will open and close the map . Also sometimes when the map is opened the World Map Control Panel is sometimes minimized at the bottom of the screen so check there if you cant see it. Also check you screen is correctly aligned to your monitor if your playing in windowed mode as the control panel may be off your view at the bottom of the screen.

Plus, sometimes the windows get combined, and your world map control panel may be under a tab at the top of, say, your market or cargohold window.
You can combine the windows like that manually, which is quite helpful in reducing screen clutter.

It just happened to me too.
There is no control panel in sight. The map is also not scrollable. The only button that does anything is "Close".
Solar System button is unresponsive as well.
Definitively a bug.

I have this problem also. I have mentioned this in another thread. Looks like it might be a bug that started appearing recently.

I can confirm it's completely broken. Last night I accidentally did the ctrl-scrollwheel thing, and the map opened. Pressing close would simply remove the map control windows, but the map would still be there, all the little solarsystem icons were there and moving when I warped, all the while having space superimposed beneath it.
Couldn't return to 'space mode' whatever I did, bar relog.

This happened to me just now, and I am still in the tutorial so I was messing round for the longest time trying to figure out what I was forgetting/doing wrong. But left clicking on the "map" control panel button on the left side simply takes me to map view, without any control panel appearing. As advised by someone(s) in rookie help, I looked all round my screen but could not see it minimized anywhere.
Also, I don't know if this is related, but a junk waypoint that I had set earlier in my tutorial still seemed to be on the map. And I was at the point in the tutorial where I'm supposed to jump back home (military school) from the buy-one-piece-of-cheap-ammo trip (I went to the Quafe factory at Pator). I tried to auto-pilot like the tutorial was telling me, but after a moment it would disengage and say something about the waypoint not being set. But then when I tried (again) to set destination to my "home" bookmark through People & Places, it would say 'cannot set waypoint to same place twice.'
Hopefully this will all be cleared up when I log back in, but I just wanted to post all my issues on the remote chance they're relevant to bug-fixing or whatever.
signed, utter noob on day 1 of 14-day trial.
