Edited by: insulubria on 12/03/2007 12:11:33 I'm growing very tired of these Daily top off's I have with my pos.
If it gets blown up, whatever Thats an easly acceptable part of game mechanics.
Ex) I should have had defence, a no brainer.
What isn't acceptable is that this is more like a childish Virtual Goldfish simulator.
I'd like to not have eve tied into my life at 10 day refueling intervals.
Their is going to be points in my job where I'm away from the internet for periods greater then these refuel times.
All I ask from any CCP dev that can spare some time is, Let a POS draw its fuel from any corp hanger (or specific to the task array) thats in a certain proximity of the Control Tower.
The idea is if the tower goes into reinforced, it would no longer draw any fuel.
Thusly would not be able to extend its supply of strontium in the middle of reinforce mode. meaning it would be no different then a pos without a "Pos Fuel Coupling Silo" linked.

All the benefits of a POS without having to put the work into maintaining it? I seriously doubt that will ever happen. At least I hope not - A single corp hanger can hold 1,000,000 m3. That's enough to keep a small POS fueled for over a year! Without having to worry about supply lines, POSes would be popping up all over, especially from alliances trying to establish sovereignty.
If you're not willing/able to put the effort into sustaining a POS, then you shouldn't be putting one up. One refuel every 10 days is nothing (Ours needs weekly refuelings btw and I've never found it to be a hassle.)
If I'm going to be away for any length of time, I simply tell a corpmate "OK its your turn to handle the refuel for awhile." If there isnt at least one other person you can trust to do it for you, well, then your corp has issues.

POS are goldfish and need to be fed at least weekly. Else they good off line and float upside down. You must have one corp mem who can shift drag without too much brain power?
Longer times will make owning systems so much easier due to fuel and forget mentality.

Except for the fact that you get an email notification when your tower is low.
People can leave it and forget until that notification anyways.
If you let a tower run for a month it doesn't make it easier.
You still have to haul a months worth of material, it's not much different than hauling a months worth of material in advance. Except that you don't don't have to drag and drop 1 time, once a week. You do it 4 times, for 4 weeks.
Besides, if you are moon mining you have to empty out the moon silos every so often.

Cargo expander modules for the Control Tower would also be a fine idea. Something with CPU and Powergrids requirements like a silo which gives 50% or 100% more cargospace in the Control Towers cargohold.
In my eyes this would be a fair and logical solution for everybody. You still have to refuell but not once a week (what is really a problem for small corps in the case of holidays some people have in real life etc.)
