I have a few ships at a POS floating in space I'm switching frequently: I'm mining in a belt, when I'm done i fetch my hauler or battelship when rats appear.
And now here is the problem, since a few days now my computer completely crashes very often when I jump from ship to ship. I get the "boarding" dialog, and *poof* computer freezes, no alt+ctrl+del, no ctrl+q, no alt+f4, i have to reboot manually. It happens really only when boarding ships in space, and not every time, but today it happenes almost every second time. Everything else works as usual.
the server still seems to get the message, because when I relog, I'm already in the new ship I wanted to baord.
I haven't changed my hardware for quite a while and it started after the first "minor" patch after 1.3 I believe.
Did anybody else experience this?

There is something that puts the client nito an infinite loop throwing the same exception over and over again. At least that is the impression I get from the LogServer file.
A little comment would be nice if this is a known issue or if there is another possible solution etc...

Edited by: Losmandy on 03/03/2007 11:35:05 Same here. Started after last path. Yeah and where have all the rats gone.
There must be two types of patch, one to put things right and one to break stuff. Isn't that an endless loop thingy.

I`ve got the same problem, started after recent patch. One other "special effect" the patch has added is game freeze when I exit EVE. I`ve played for just over a year without the tiniest problem, and now this. Keeping things in perspective, my EVE time has been enjoyable, so I`n not gonna gripe too loudly about this yet.
This is what XP displays after Ctrl+Alt+Del(although the "3 key fix" don`t always work)
"CPP Blue Framework has been closed. To help protect your computer Data Execution Prevention has closed CCP Blue Framework. Click to learn more"
Upon clicking, I learned less, not more.
CCP`s fix`s for this scenario tend to be the `ol "sound card issue" mantra.
And I aint living in a universe without "pew pew".

I get the same. Also, it seems to cause a memory-leak - atleast i see the eve.exe process just gobble up the memory

I am having the exact same problem. When at my POS if I change ships it seems about a 75% chance of my client freezing. Since I run in window mode I pull up task manager and kill EvE. Could be worse. At least it is not freezing in combat. |

Ditto. About 3 out of 4 times I swap ships at the POS, the client locks up. I use task manager to 'crash' the client then relog. When I log back in, I'm in the new ship. -- "Goodbye, yellow brick road." |
