Easy-Company is a new start-up corp with few members (2 actually). We are just starting our recruitment drive & we wish to offer potential members 0.0 access if possible to mine and to kill rats.
Can anyone help. This is key to our plans as when our numbers are high enough we plan to join a large alliance and live in 0.0 permanently.
Contact me ingame or post here please.
Hope someone can help.

While an admirable goal, Jenta, 0.0 is not something that one can just jump into. Most of the large alliances in 0.0 have high requirements for their member corporations and corps that are applying to join. These undoubtedly include substancial ISK fees, a minimum membership count, and the knowledge that said corporation has the ISK, the people, and the resources to protect themselves and assist in Alliance ops and objectives. With 2 people that is just not feasible.
I don't write this to slight you or your goals, but they are just that...goals. The best way to get into 0.0 is to take a number of months and try to improve your corp. Boost your membership totals and get some experience, particularly in low-sec. The more experience you have, the more likely it is you may one day be able to find a suitable home in 0.0 with an alliance. Best of luck to you in your endevour.

Thank you for your words of wisdom and I agree. You should know though that I have been playing EVE on another account for over a year and have set this account up to give myself a new challange. My first account has been living in 0.0 within a large Alliance for over 3 months now (loving it btw )
Currently we do not seek to live in 0.0 we are just looking for access. This I feel would be a good thing to offer potential new recruits. I am looking for advise on where would be best. I know there are alot of wars going on at the moment and the last thing I want is for potential members to get caught up in them.
Any advise would be appreciated. *************************************** ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE! *************************************** |

The problem with access to 0.0 is that you face many of the same restrictions as a corp looking to live there. Without sufficient numbers, resources, and ships, it's almost impossible to get regular access to good 0.0 space. Since you live out in 0.0 with one character, you know just how dangerous 0.0 can be to newer players even when there aren't people trying to hunt your gangs in system.
Now I'm not saying that it can't be done, but if you're going to get 0.0 access for your new corp, you might have to look at trying to get standings with a local power, which won't happen until you get larger, or you'll have to look at 0.0 like Pure Blind, which is barely better than low-sec and overlooked because of that factor.
Everywhere else, it would seem, is contaminated with fallout from the plethora of wars going on in the eve-universe. The North (D2+Friends) is at war and the people there generally don't take kindly to interlopers in their space who haven't gotten permission or standings. The West consists of Syndicate and the multitude of pirate corps that exist there, as well as Outer Ring and Cloud Ring...and all 3 areas are major transporation routes for fleets going north and south to fight in the wars. The East, from my understanding, is largely a free-for-all between corps and alliances fighting for system sovereignty and the larger alliances that have staked claim to said areas. The South is...well, it's the South...and that means that there's not a single safe spot for anyone who's not in a major alliance, and even that does not guarantee safety.
So, really it just boils down to the same factors as were mentioned previously. Take it slow and steady. Build up your corporation, your organization, and your infrastructure. It is then that you will be able to successfully access OR live in 0.0 with a contingent of newer players. Too often people rush into low-sec or 0.0 without planning and it comes back to bite them hard. I've seen corporations and alliances shatter because of poor preparation and planning as well as being unable to support themselves and their projects. I trust that you'll be able to do it, but I'd honestly spend 6-8 months living or operating in low-sec to build up their experience...get those that you will recruit used to the prospect that space isn't safe and that there are people out there who will actively hunt and shoot them. Then they will be ready, and then I'm sure that you will succeed. ----------------------------------

Thanks for your patience and your advice.
I think you are correct and I have decided to look for a low sec system first to get new recruits used to the dangers.

Another step afterwords could be towards NPC based 0.0 stations these provide good access to 0.0 without the risk of using your or someone elses stations. This can be done without the support of larger entities if needed. Just as a tip though make sure you dont step on anyones toes when you move.

You don't need numbers to get into 0.0, you just need to know what you're doing. You could even do it solo if you wanted. The skills you need to move around 0.0 aren't tricky, but it certainly helps if you have some friends to get intel, and you need experience.
I'd suggest that you research a quiet area out, with NPC stations, and go from there. Most of 0.0 is usually quiet. Next, make sure all your members are well versed on moving around 0.0 without getting blown up, avoiding bubble camps, precautions you take when missioning, mining or ratting in 0.0, etc. Then it will all fall into place. Being part of an alliance is unnecessary as well. Personally I'd skip lowsec, the rewards aren't as great, and the pirate traffic can be a pain. --- PvP Training: www.agony-unleashed.com "Veni, Vidi, Caedi" |

This man speaks truth. Even though there is a large number of pirates, I've been venturing out to Syndicate with a new player I know in T1 frigates, on characters 2 days old. We fitted up a Rifter and a Merlin with guns, an AB, and nano's in all the lowslots(IE horrible fittings, not even all slots filled). After 3 days of ratting we'd lost about 5 ships apiece, got 1 Pirate kill (killed a cruiser, yay!), and made 75mil in total from bounties. Course might be better if we killed faster (bring more friends in cheap frigates!).
To summarize: 500k frigates + rats worth up to 1 mil apiece(2 frigs can break a BS tank in a decent timeframe), with stations nearby = good profits and good experience even a new player can get in on! Plus you get to experience all the fun that life on the edge, and you might even be able to swarm over the pirates that mess with you and get a few killmails to look at :P
After a while you should have enough experience to consider looking at moving to real 0.0, as living in Syndicate for a few months will toughen your corp up :P
(I honestly don't know why I don't round up an arseload of n00bs from the npc corps and fit em out with frigates, run em into Syndicate, and just tax em 20% of all earned profits for the night >.<)

i beg to differ, 0.0 is some thing you do when you feel ready for it, if you never feel ready your never gonna be ready there is quit a few npc 0.0 regions that servers as a steping board for small corperation who whant to operate in 0.0 .

Thanks for the compliment! I run new players into 0.0 in T1 frigates most weekends, but with the intent of killing players instead of rats. The problem with new players is that is like herding cats; you need the patience of a saint.
Syndicate is where Agony started out, and it's not a bad place to get started. Pure Blind is pretty good too.

For goodness sakes. The man is just wanting some 0.0 access. He likely is ASKING for intel channels and forums access for his corp for a 0.0 area of space. 99% of these (that are worthwhile) are going to be owned by player corps.
If you can't give him what he's asking for, why bother posting about your incredible knowledge of running a 2 man team in 0.0 ?
I do it myself. I have the abovesaid access and I run it pretty well. People will probably NOT ask for huge amounts of ISK if you're just going to be included in "other allies" and not a part of the alliance propper.
This IS in their best interests because such corps stimulate the economy and help with intel. They also field ships to hunt pirates in the said regions.
It's not about what you know - it's about who you know. You need to find the right people to ask for this access. Look up alliance, ask if you can be included in their KoS access list and tell them what you'd like to do. Most of the smart ones will realise it's a good thing to have and will allow it. Just because we're a mining corp doesn't mean I don't like to PVP - they know this and I always know when there's an op I can join in on.
Last battle against U'K I was targetted by 2 carriers and a vagabond who blew my little bellicose into next week. And as I said to the CVA guys - "If they hadn't targetted me, it would've been one of you lol".

.......
Edit: BTW I got the access and clearance in this region that I have by belonging to an already established (non-alliance) company and volunteering for many different ops that CVA had working. They knew me at the time, knew I'd taken ship losses to help out in times of war and piracy. Perhaps you need to do a little paying of the dues. (It might be the way to go).
RR.
He IS currently a 2 man team.
However in the same line of thinking how is it helpful to suggest he join up with another established corp to pay his dues? As you so elequently put it - "If you can't give him what he's asking for, why bother posting about your incredible knowledge of [xxxxxxx]".
He didn't ask where he could join up with another 0.0 corp, he asked how he could get 0.0 access. I was merely backing up Dez Erichs's suggestion that he just go out and experience what 0.0 has to offer in NPC controlled space. I then went on to add a description of personal experience so as to ENCOURAGE him to try it, and to let him know that I could personally atest to this particular strategy.

Personally, I'd have far preferred to avoid the 4 months of trying to working in pirate ridden unpatrolled lowsec or zerosec and just "get my foot in the door" with an established alliance who has good control of their territory.
Any space where anti-pirates aren't operating (NPC zero-sec) you can be sure pirates are. Without intel, you die.

Ask yourself what your corp could offer to any alliance hosting you in 0.0 :
- pvp? - production? - intel? - mining? - research?
If none of the above, you'll hardly find anyone hosting you without charging you horribly. Create something that "works" and then take a look around. For example, if you can setup a decent pvp gang and wanna fight against slavery, you may later contact Ushra'Khan :)
