Originally by: SnakeArts Let's say that your in a gang of 8 people all of which are hac's and command ships, or elite cruisers. If local bumped upto 40 people with 2 carrier's also in system would you not log off?
Worse, I was in a hauler going up the pipe to Cloud-ring. Local went to loke 20 in a second, I safed. About a minute later, A Cyno opened about 40k's from me, and in comes two carriers. They chased my ass for 40 minutes or so. TRhey got me, but we all had a blast. I lost my ship. I didn't log. Logging is lame. Period.

Loggin off is moronic. It spits on the immersion of this game.
People that log in bad / uneven situations are lame.
Girlfriends tush is totally another story, and has nothing to do with this depate.
Log off at POS, stations or middle of nowhere, not chased or probed is the way to keep you safe.
If you go under 0.5, you may loose your ship. You have to know that, since you are not newbs, right?
A 100 person fleet jumping in system is no excuse. If youre in low sec, then deal with them, or try to get to a station or jump out of system.
You play bad = you get popped. deal with it.
I want to friggin beat loggers fingers with a hockey stick to a pulp, so they cant press ctrl-q anymore.
Its cheating the game, its negleting other players, and has nothing to do with "playing the game" or "having fun". you should play the game, is it fun or not at that moment. YOU WENT THERE YOURSELF, NOW DEAL WITH IT!
f..ng carebear low life POS's, logging off is not ok. Its not petionable only because its hard to tell whether someone lost connection, of pressed ctrl-q.
Maybe the EVE-client should send CCP a note, when ctrl-q is pressed, or quit trough esc-window. That wont still eliminate pulling the RJ-45 cable from your PC.
Lame scum, go play WOW.

Boohoo, seriously man... lighten up.
I logged my pod for the very first time on Sat night as I didn't wish to lose a bunch of implants to LAG.
It worked so well I'm gonna do it whenever my pod is threatened from now on... when CCP fix the god aweful lag and return the warping away of your pod to the 'sure fire thing' that they DESIGNED it to, I'll stop doing it.
Don't preach game mechs when the game mechs are flawed due to undercapacity of the database and nodes.

Damn tiller - please leave OS....i hate agreeing with people from gingies corp ^^ lol. But what tiller said = true.
If you see a ú10 note on the floor....who in their right mind, would go round asking in the streets 'is this yours?'. No - you'd keep it.
Who in their right mind would give people a few pod kill, and lose a billion isk from it? Get real...

Or just ask who the british person is since it would never fit in my wallet and anyhow I can't spend it here.
These views are not reflective of the viwes of my corp or corpmates . . . If I have failed to take my medication today they probablly aren't my views either. |

you are basically saying that cheating is ok, because it pays off.
Tillers point of lag is a valid reason, as both parties are cool with it.
I got a bit carried away, but i stand behind what i said :)

Though strictly speaking Lag is a two way affair, and maybe rather than logging a petition is the more benefical approch... however yeah its understandable, given the hassle of getting stuff back via petition.
However the idea that 'cheating' is acceptable behaviour in a game rather defeats the object of playing in the first place. And its certainly not British, Cricket or anything other than Rum Behaviour

Get one to log while your flying near then, then drop a probe and scan for the ship.
If you have good skills you'll have a decent chance of geting a location and being able to warp to them before their timer runs out and their ships despawns from the world.
If your a member of a corp it is alwayse better, costs less, and takes much less time just to move in groups and ignore them completly since they obviously run/log when the situation is not in their favor.
These people try and **** people off in local to try and goad them into coming after them alone, all you have to do is ignore them and move in packs.
TO be honest these people have the lowest threat level of all the pirates you'll encounter
meh!

I have donne the old ctrl-q on a few occasions, i do a lot of solo fighting, and dont mind losing a fair fight but when you go through a gate to land smack in the middle of 15+ ppl blob with 15x5 drones out and no way to get away cause of bubbles and stuff i have donne it, why should i hand over my mods and km to these mofos who offer me 0% chance of survival through normal means?
(of caurse i then realized i had only 36 mins left on the skill running, and was going out for several hours, so i had to logg on again to change, and lo and behold my nanodomi was so fast i couldent stopp it from warping right back lol)
NB: wtf dosent my corp name show up?, first months for the picture and now this!!

Tey running back to the gate, waiting and tanking for as long as you can before jumping. With luck they will mainly be aggressed and unable to jump with you, those that do you can deal with or repeat the process. I managed to get away from a decent sized SE camp in Stain a few days ago by doing this.
Doesn't take more than a cool head and some preplanning in terms of mods.
Meh loggers...

Well going 15 kms back to the gate while beeing webbed from atleast 5 ppl is no easytask, i dunno what kind of gatecamps u run into, but i asure you that a "normal" gatecamp in syndicate would leave u dead in less then 10 secs if u tried that

Target locked: unacceptable (but it's only gonna save your pod so who cares?) Any other time: acceptable
I found this comment quite surprising when you had argued so vehemently in a previous thread in defence of your Corpmate, tiller, logging in a fight before his pod was destroyed. ------------------------------------------------
