I'm realy wierd about the formula gived in 'Players Guide' here "(1.25 - 0.05 * Production Efficiency Skill Level) * (1 + (Base Waste Factor / (1 + Blueprint Mineral Efficiency Level)) * Base Minerals"
So first part is ok, its mean if i have PE lvl5 skill, it will be '1'. But second part is looks like a total non-sense for me.
Lets take a un-reserched bane torpedo BPO. It use 825 amount of pyerite. And for example i decide to do ME99 research on that BPO. So formula then will be (1.25-0.05*5)*(1+(0.1/(1+99)))*825 ...and it will be 825.825
Do i skip something, or miscalculate something? Can someone explain me how its realy works, and how to find what amount of minerals will be used for any ME researched?

The base minerals is wrong it will say on the bpo 750 but use 825 when at ME 0 and ME 99 it will be 751

Edited by: Arthalion Thoidon on 23/01/2007 16:55:00 The formula you found, and therefore the calculation you did, is the 100% correct and a BPO( that require 825 units of a min unresearched) will at ME99 require 826 units of that mineral for construction. 826 because the game rounds 825.825 to 826 instead of truncating it to 825( I checked this with one of my own BPO's).
So you didn't skip or miscalculate anything, which makes me wonder what it is exactly you don't understand.

Edited by: NoNah on 23/01/2007 16:55:03 If it makes you any happier, an un-researched BPO requires 1013 Pyerite. (4531 Tritanium 8 Zydrine).
Your formula is however correct. Hope this helps: http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=348689

Thats is you have 0-level of prodiction efficiency, and with lvl5 you will use the 'perfect' amount of minerals that listed in BPO. I'm talking not about skill's wastage, but about ME wastage. And i realy want to know how to calculate what amount of minerals BPO will use after every level of ME applied on it.
For example how much exactly ME i need apply to BPO to reduce 7 zydrine to 6.

This is the formula I've been using.
=(Base Cost+(Base Cost*(0.25-(0.05*Level of Production Efficiency)))+(Base Cost*(Base Mineral Wasteage/(1+Blueprint ME))))
An explanation: Base Cost = the value found in the Item Database, NOT on an ME0 BPO ingame. Base Mineral Wasteage = The mineral wasteage on an ME0 BPO ingame. This will usually be 0.1 or 0.05. Blueprint ME = the ME level you've researched the blueprint to (obviously ).
Swap out the writing bits for the cell references (don't forget to add in a $ sign if you don't want it to copy down - i.e you'd put C$6 instead of C6 for the PE skill and you only need to type it once) and you're set.
Convo me ingame if you get stuck and I'll help you out. -----

materials required in a BPO will list TWO numebers per mineral requirement.
YOU = higher number (if your PE < lvl V) & PERFECT = PE V character at THAT ME level
IIRC BPOs list the base numbers vs a PERFECT TotensBurntCorpse Likes EVE, Starfleet Command Series, Earth & Beyond, Anything Battlefield, MOHAA, Call of Duty.

Easiest way to look at is this: Base waste is .1 on most BPO's. If it takes 1000 units of material base to make said item then there will be 100 units of waste and the total mineral cost to you will be 1100.
With ME9 the waste is reduced to .01 item still takes 1000 units base, but this time you only waste 10 units making your total manufacture amount 1010 units.
With ME99 the waste drops to .001 still at 1000 units the waste is now 1 so your mineral cost is 1001.
Forumulas are great and all but till you understand what they are telling you and can condense them into something useful they don't mean anything.
