Hi guys.
I just caught the TV addy for a game called Gears of War, for the 360 I believe. Now the game might be totaly rubbish. But the addy, especially with using the song Bad World, or is it Mad world, over the game graphics is just wonderful. By and far the best TV addy for a game to date
PS, the addy is being shown in the UK, not sure about the rest of the world

Gears of war is superb, if a little short.
Still, for some reason running commando stylee from cover to cover and blind firing with popping up occasionally to un-load a full clip into a beasties head just never got boring.

Not a game i know but the Xbox (original) advert with the person flying from hospital to grave was great, "lifes too short not to" or something like that.
Pity it was banned in Britain, the pc crowd didnt like it much.

Yea, GoW is enticing me to buy an Xbox 360 and a large HDTV

If you got the pennies to Ifni mate do it. I was playing on an 8 year old non-HD no-frills 21" TV and it still looked utterly superb. There are some other gems on the machine as well that are well worth the look in.

Seems this wasn't the only banned Xbox advert - I found this one the best.
I don't think I've ever seen it on TV where I am.

edit: btw, not the best ad ever, but this PS3 one is creepy.

There's a limit to how far advertisement is generally acceptable to "not suitable".
Not surprised big companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo are starting to ignore common sense...

Sounds a bit like a game called Killswitch - except with more emphasis on graphics and killing bugs instead of terrorists

gears of war surprised me with how little they told you about the story. there was definitely thought put into a story but they could have put a few more details in the game. i'm still wondering what phoenix and his father are all about.
i thought "Mad World" on the GoW Commercial couldn't have been more appropriate.

Japanese Legend of Zelda 80s dance number. That was one of the best.
Oh oh... but the Power Glove, that was pretty tight too. Now I can truly be in the game and destroy Super Mario 3 once and for all!
Time to give Wizards & Warriors a true spanking...

I totally agree. It's like you had no idea what was going on.. You just got yanked out of prison by your pal and started cutting people down.. Awesome game though.. Notice my sig quote!

trouble is the audience they are targeting is far more accepting of edgy things, while the stiff collar lawyers and PC types only want to see peachy worlds and flowers. hense why movies shown on cable TV outside of movie channels are edited.
