Is it possible to somehow set the resolution of eve in window mode to a custom setting
I have a 1920 * 1200 screen and generally use the 1600*1200 option but i would love to make it 1600*1100 to leave room for my start menu and the title bar of the window - otherwise i cant minimise easily and cant reach the bottom bit of the screen (for the time/undock button/minimized windows etc)

Set your resolution in prefs.ini in the cache folder. I havent tried it yet, but thats the only thing i can think of.

This would probably make most people cry, but you CAN move your start menu to the left or right side of the screen.

You can create your custom resolutions by creating real ones. Eve just lists up those that are available in windows. You can create custom configurations with a built in feature of the drivers if you have an Nvidia card. I dont know about ATI, but it probably has something similar. Some versions of the Nvidia drivers are broken concerning creating custom resolutions. In that case use the tool PowerStrip. I use a screen with 1920x1200 resolution too and have set the high to 1140 - that way the eve window fits correctly (and enough space for most of the overview data) on the desktop and I have open space on the right or left for other windows such as a chat window or teamspeak/ventrillo.

That's right. Windows doesn't recognise my widescreen TV, so it offers all the resolutions the video card can display. Eve shows this list for windowed mode, so I'm in 1280x720 which is a bit smaller than the TV's native 1360x768. DirectX won't let Eve start up in a silly resolution like that, but I can switch to it from the ESC screen.
The thing *not* to do is to set any EVE resolution without testing it in Windows first. Unlike Windows EVE has no failsafe "I'll go back to your previous resolution unless you press this button". If it works in Windows, it will probably work in EVE.
