Edited by: Ariel Stardust on 27/12/2006 03:32:28 Hello,
I've just finished Electronics V, and am able to squeeze in a Large NOS on my Raven in place of a Medium, but I'm still about 15cpu short of being able to fit my 3rd BCU module, and I'm perplexed as to why.
The only thing I can think of is that I need Energy Grid Upgrades V, BUT, it only seems like I'll get about 4cpu gain from training it to V, and since it's a 13 day skill or so, I'd like to gather some opinions as to what I might be missing.
Seems to be a typical Raven setup, but I can't quite make it fit:
6 Arbalest Siege Launcher 1 Large E500 NOS 1 Small Tractor Beam
1 Target Painter 1 XL C5-L Shield Booster 3 Rat-Specific Active Shield Hardeners 1 Shield Boost Amplifier I
2 Power Diagnostic Unit II 3 Ballistic Control Unit II (Can't fit the 3rd, 15 cpu short.)
-
The only thing I've noticed that's still affected by my skills is the PDU's with Energy Grid Upgrades, but I think I'll only gain 4, maybe 5 cpu units from getting it to level V.
I have Electronics V, Energy Grid Upgrades IV, (edit: and Weapon Upgrades V) and I've looked but can't see what else would possibly apply to a CPU shortage in this setup. If I'm blind, please tell me. ;)
Thanks for any advice!

Aren't others doing it without implants?

Not an expert on Raven or fittings but (can't sleep anyway, so):
1. I think some named mods use less cpu(maybe PG though), so u could try those. 2. There's isn't rly any 'standard' setup. If you have the skills (and I don't think u need that lvl5 rly, xcept if needed to fly something), all you can do is try a different setup and/or some (or better) fitting mods.
Since tis is for npcing I guess, a good advice would be to dish that tractor. Finish whatever u doing and then come back into a dedicated tackler. It will make your Raven better and will allow for much easier/faster looting (and maybe salvaging if u're into that soret of thing)...

I'm looking into better named mods at the moment. Would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has this same setup fitted. Thanks in advance everyone!

I worked out your setup using best named target painter, shield hardeners and shield boost amp.
[306] 6x arbalest siege w/ WU5 [ 43] large e500 nos [ 20] small tractor
[ 16] best named tp (phased weapon etc) [170] xl c5-l shield [96-114] 3 named active hardners (variation between damage types) [ 40] best named shield bost amp
[ 32] 2 pdu2 w/ energy grid upgrades 4 [120] 3 bcu2
------ 843cpu, low enough for a raven with electronics 5 to handle

Ah, I'm using Tier II Hardeners (2 EM 1 Thermal for Sansha.) If nothing else I'll just drop the Tractor Beam until I can squeeze it in, it's definitely not necessary since I have a looting alt. Actually maybe I can put another gun in or something, who knows. Thanks guys. ;)

My choice would be to drop the Nos I used to do level 4 missions with 2 Heavy Nos however the advantage gained I found was very minimal. However each to their own
